Kai said that this is the first Nightwish album you can hear"real" Kai. Endless Forms he had to make the drums sound like Jukka was drumming because it was still unsure if he was coming back. Human Nature he was still a bit unsure what Tuomas wanted but this time Tuomas really let him loose. And you can hear it!
Great reaction, thank you very much! I love both sides of Nightwish, the heavy side as well as the soft one. This song is one of my two favourite songs of this album, together with "Lanternlight", but the whole album is a masterpiece.

Yesterwynde is like an old concept album by Pink Floyd, you might take the time to listen to it from the first song all thru to the last one. After about 50 times now it grew on me up to the 5 best albums I own - and I am 64 now and have about 8000 records. The last song -Lanternlight- is my personal song of the year 2024 by far. It is very, VERY different but exactly that is the reason - and it ends again with the projector. For me Nightwish has evolved to one of those rare bands, that create art without any consideration to what anybody expected or to say it the short way: Nightwish does Nightwish things. And I predict this record will be recognized in decades, just like Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the moon. Some records last forever. Greetings from Germany

I think the accoustic guitar you heard mid song was Troy. Tuomas seems to love the harp, and I appreciate how he uses the harp often in his orchestration.
That's certainly possible. I don't own the album yet (my choice is vinyl) so I don't have liner notes and there isn't any live videos yet but I'd say it's very likely Troy.
Floor is a sprinting,vocal acrobat in this song. And she does it flawlessly! Shortly after giving birth to Lucy, she records this entire album in 2 weeks. She is the Valkyrie Goddess! Thanks, Gaye, for giving Bill the freedom to choose and thank you, Bill, for choosing well!
I watched a interview with Tuomas he said they travelled to her home studio and they had allowed two weeks and they did it in six days, he said after what she had been through she nailed it and he was so proud of her.
What a wonderful choice, Bill! Thank you so much for reacting to this. My musical journey has far to go, but I already know that, for me, Nightwish will always be home. I don't think anyone but Floor could sing this song. She is magnificent, as always. And, with the appreciation I have for Marko, The line "You who glow in deepest woe, Let it be, retiree, Sail carefree" I look upon as a tribute to a band member who contributed so much to the music in the almost 20 years he was with the group. But, for me, this song is about the instrumentals, as much as the vocals. The musical composition is pure Tuomas and it is interpreted so well by Kai, Emppu, Jukka and Troy. I agree that it is one of their best songs ever.

Here you see, why Emppu is so important for NW-music Style. He is one of the most underrated but most important guitar players (for Nightwish and) in the rock musicworld. He is the No. 2 in the band together with his friend Tuomas. Some say, Tuomas is the brain of NW, Emppu is the glue and Floor is the soul who holds band together. Tuomas words years ago: "...If Floor sometimes decides to leave the band will definetely be the end of Nightwish"! The same appies to Emppu.

After Floor entered, Nightwish Tuomas began writing more Symphonics heavy pieces as opposed to more guitar heavy during Annette years.
