Genuinely shocked this video didn't have thousands of views. Stellar work!

I should be working on an assignment... but I don't have enough will power to resist watching a new TheSIlverSlasher video.
That's a good point you brought up about Nintendo Magic. Another example this applies to is between Paper Mario and Bug Fables. From Sticker Star and onwards, they definitely look like Paper Mario games, but the gameplay decisions feel like they're more business-oriented. There's plenty of assets they can reuse (save on operation costs) and there's a paper gimmick as the selling point (used for marketing material). Sure, it makes sense business-wise, but because of that, they make a trade-off between sales and Nintendo Magic. Contrarily, Bug Fables definitely looks like Paper Mario, but it also includes the Nintendo Magic that is missing from current Paper Mario games. An important skill in game design is listening to your players/game, and Bug Fables evidently shows this by revitalizing the traditional Paper Mario format which A) the fans wanted, and B) made it fun to begin with (Nintendo Magic).
Overall, I think part of the Nintendo Magic is listening to what the players want. It's ironic because meeting the needs of your customers is core to reaching sales goals, and Nintendo is gradually losing sight of their own player base.
