Happy #FirstContactDay! 🖖 Jerry Goldsmith is one of my composing heroes/biggest scoring influences and to celebrate I’m pleased to share a piano cover of his “Star Trek: First Contact” Main Theme (with the TOS opening by Alexander Courage)
First Contact Day is an informal commemorative day observed annually on April 5 and was created by Ronald D. Moore, screenwriter of the 1996 film Star Trek: First Contact. The date, based on his eldest son’s birthday, is the fictional future history of events set to take place on April 5, 2063 (which is coming up!). That is the day humans first achieved warp speed in a spacecraft, resulting in Vulcans making their presence known to humans (Wikipedia).
