- Learn how to set up a sticker sheet with your Cricut to get the perfect stickers! I want to show you how I make stickers with Cricut and share with you all the tips and tricks I've learned along the way.
I'll be going over things like how to fix things like why your Cricut calibration is not working, print settings for glossy paper, Cricut pressure settings for sticker sheets, formatting a sticker sheet in Cricut design space and what types of sticker paper I use.
TROUBLESHOOTING: I've seen a lot of people having issues with the machine only cutting the background layer! I believe this is happening for anyone using Cricut Design space on an iPad. Be sure to use a PC since the app seems buggy!
Also, I'm really sorry I haven't been able to answer more of your questions/problems! But I no longer use my Cricut machine and can't troubleshoot any of it. (I use a Silhouette now, and you can click here if you want to see why :) • what cutting machine i... )

The reason you're having a problem with lining up your sticker layer with the background is because the proportions of your sticker layer are different than your background layer. Your back layer's proportions are defined by the blue rectangle but your sticker layers borders are defined by the stickers at the edges. (I hope this makes sense)
So your sticker layer is smaller in width than your back layer, yet you are resizing them the same.
To easily line up the stickers with the back layer put registration marks on the sticker layer.
Registration Marks are small squares (size doesn't matter but I usually keep mine .25" each).
You put 1 square in each corner of the layer as it corresponds to the back layer (the blue rectangle) and make sure they aren't touching any sticker.
This way when u upload the sticker layer it will have the same proportions as your back layer.
Then when you resize the two layers together they will always have the same proportions.
Once you are done resizing simply slice the 4 registration mark squares out of the sticker layer and continue.
I hope I was clear. Feel free to ask questions.
Great tip for getting them lined up!
How do you slice the registration marks without slicing through the sticker sheet?
@@kaitlyna2865 you essentially crop the stickers out of the squares. That's why squares have to be away from stickers as it was pointed out in the comment.
I think that you can get photoshop to add registration marks. You can definitely do it in Illustrator.
One question: because the cricut has a limited dimension for print and cut feature. Does that mean we have to waste almost 2*2 inches of sticker or expensive materials every single time we use this feature? Or is there a way out to use full letter /A4 sheets completely? just like we do in a printer.
Thanks
thank you so much for this video! i foresaw some issues when i was in the process of prepping designs and it's been difficult adjusting to the cricut design space but you explained things in a simple, concise way and i learned some new things too. you've really helped this apsiring art shop owner a ton! :)
thank you for this tutorial! I am so thankful for sticker makers/artists like you that help people like me who are totally lost. thank's so much and I look forward to supporting you more ☺️❤️
Thank you so much for this video! I love the paper you suggested and your instructions were key. I am a "newbie" with the Cricut and it has taken me awhile to figure out the right setting to use and the most cost-efficient sticker paper but this video made it 10x easier!
I needed someone to explain it like this! Thank you so much for sharing. I just bought a cricut explore air and I'm excited to get started.
This worked perfect! Thanks! It was my first cricut project and your instructions were so clear.
Super helpful tutorial! I’ve been struggling with this process for so long and had almost given up until you made it so simple and easy to follow along! Your positive attitude and humility helped me relax and not feel intimidated. Thank you so much for your help! 💛
this video was a lifesaver!! i had no idea what i was getting myself into but now i’m making progress.
This was amazingly helpful! I was having trouble with my Cricut cutting my sticker paper too deeply (damaging the mat), but the washi tape setting was perfect. Thank you!!
If I were still the type to cry from being overjoyed.... I could hug you right (if there wasn’t a 😷) now! Last December would be 2 years when I was gifted a Cricut. 😔 Thank you so much for sharing and knowing that there are more of “us” out there than you think. 😃
Perfect! I am looking to purchase a cricut but doing my research first. Love it! Very infomative!
I just want to thank you sooooo much for this video. After searching & searching & trying to figure out what I was doing wrong… you have helped the MOST
Thank you for this video! Made me feel so much better about my own cricut story. I've had mine for 4 months now and I only opened it about two weeks ago. I spent the first month using design space only and was completely frustrated with it and its designs. I'm not a designer so it makes it doubly hard to make anything because the designs are behind cricut access, and I dont really feel like paying when the free stuff looks so awful... obviously they're not giving their best designs for free. But it just made me regret getting the cricut. I took it out finally and test cut some pieces and enjoyed the ability to cut whatever I wanted. I'm also hoping to find a good quality sticker paper in my country. When I do I will refer to this video again! Thank you again!
THIS IS SUCH A GREAT VIDEO!!!! So informative & definitely gonna look into the waterproof vinyl!
Great tutorial! Thank you so much. You give a lot of information that's just usually glossed over in other people's videos.
oh my golly gosh. You are a super star....I have been dreaming of having coloured backgrounds on my sticker sheets for ages...and like you gave up in the first year of having my cricut...currently cutting a new sticker sheet with coloured background....woopeee...I can not thank you enough...big hugs Karen - lillbitscreations
out of all the vids out there, this REALLY helps. I've tried to manually calibrate my print to cut for sticker sheets. oh my god. thank you so much
Woah manually calibrate it? How?!
You are a life saver! I gave up on my cricut and glossy sticker papers because of all these different issues. Thank you!
Yay! I hope it helps and you get to using your cricut more!
So helpful! My cricut has been sitting in my closet for 2 years. I am going to give it a try again! Your art is really cute as well!
Definitely give it a go! The software is definitely better than it was 2 years ago. Best of luck!
Such a helpful and efficient video. Thank you!

3mins in and i can tell i can figure this out! Soo many tutorials out there that complicate the process this is bu far the best one!!
Thank you for sharing. Very clear and informative.
You're welcome!
I hadn’t made stickers in a while so this helped me a ton in making custom stickers for my kids’ Valentines. Many thanks ^_^.
Yay awesome! You're welcome!
those stickers are adorable
OMG!!! Thank you. This video really helps me to have a perfect cut 🥰🥰🥰
NOT PRINTING BOTH LAYERS? Try to 'attach' layers together instead of 'flatten' your images in the design space - this issue was resolved when I did this. I use Cricut Maker. Thank you for an excellent tutorial, Birdie Tam! It was a huge help in getting me started!
No tienes idea de lo útil que me ha sido tu video, mil gracias 🥰
Thank you for this really helpful and practical video ☺💕
Fantastic video! Thanks sooooo much! Washi Setting... worked!
Yay you're welcome!
Thank you! I’m excited to try my first stickers!
You're welcome - good luck! :)
hey!! little tip, if you set the settings for your printer you can actually save those settings, so you don't have to re-enter them every time you want to make stickers!
So cute! Thank you for this
YAAAAAAS!!! I can't believe that I'm just finding this tutorial. I'm not even finished watching and I'm so, so excited to try this out. Thank you so much, this video is the best.
You're welcome 😊
Love this video!
Thanks so much for this video!!
Thank you for this really clear tutorial. I had my cricut for a week and already done few things as stickers and I guess I’m just the lucky one not having much trouble with it from the beginning. For now I only tried full cut stickers but after watching this I really want to try the kiss cut. Will see how it turns 😅 I also have the online labels standard stickers paper but it’s not working so well with my printer and I really wanted to update to a waterproof sticker hp(it’s actually by searching for feedbacks on Evergreen Goods that I’ve found this video, not disappointed).
Ah you're welcome! I really like Evergreen Goods. I haven't tried Online labels before - I've heard good things about them but can't give a review. Good luck with the kiss cut stickers!
Thank you so much Tam for this video!
You're welcome!!
This was super helpful and straightforward thank you soo much!
You're so welcome!
SO helpful! Thank you!
Very informative. Glad I found your channel because I just got my machine and struggling. 😅
I've had mine for a few months and this is THE BEST TUTORIAL
🤣 Glad you like it hahhaa
Haha omg the start of this video: IT ME. I got a Cricut... I don't know.. (what is even time during lockdown) in the summer? And I've hardly used it because every time it just makes me RAGE. Thanks for the video, that was really helpful.
This might be a helpful tip for you or anyone else reading: If you have Photoshop anyway, you can use the Stroke function (Layer Style) to easily outline your individual stickers, so you don't have to do it manually in Procreate.
That's an awesome tip for doing easy outlines for stickers!
This is so helpful, THANK YOU!!
Thank you for this it’s super useful and yes cheap quality sticker papers give cheap results!✌️
I don't know how to show my appreciation for this. I was so scared to make my first cut since I found out that so many people were having trouble with the Cricut just after mine got delivered (poor research on my part). But because of you and this clear and informative video I was able to make my first cut a succesfull one. Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to explain your method
Hey Rox, you're welcome! :D Happy sticker making!
Thank you.....detailed info!
I'm glad someone said the Cricut was really frustrating at first instead just making it out how simple and easy it is. Because that was the same experience I had at first too.
Thank you, it was a very informative video
Thank you so much for your video!
I just wanted to thank you for this video. I was getting so frustrated that the Cricut design space was ruining the colours of my stickers, and couldn’t get the cuts to align properly when I did cut only. As you suggested, I set my printer to glossy and best standard and my stickers look amazing - so rich in colour. Thank you so much!!!
You're welcome!! I'm glad I could help 😊
You are so talented! TFS!
WOW THIS IS SO HELPFUL, thank you!
You're welcome!!
this was an awesome video and i dont have the tools yet but still kinda understood it, thank you!!
lifesaver, thank you!
Thank you so much for this tutorial, my cricut has also been giving me headaches because of slight cut errors and this has helped me a lot! As for color accuracy, have you tried converting your rgb files to cmyk for print? It’ll be slightly desaturated but you can edit the colors in photoshop before printing and it should be more accurate than printing rgb!
Thanks so much for watching! Happy I could help :)
I have done that in the past before but I usually just leave it in RGB nowadays and the results are relatively the same for me! The biggest factor that I've found actually, which I didn't mention, is actually dependent on the type of monitor you have. Different types of monitors are more color accurate for print vs for digital media.
absolutely love this, thank you so much for the tutorial!
You are so welcome!
This is so good!
Excellent video!!
Sooooooooo helpful video!!! Thanks for sharing!
You're welcome!! Glad it helped 😊
Really great video 💖💖💖
I understand life again, thanks to you. xD I had a subtle mental breakdown yesterday cuz of my Cricut. But you just cleared up all the fog. You're showing essential parts in your video. PERFECT! Thanks a billionzilliontrazilmilbillion times
Yay you're so welcome! Glad this video is still useful 🤣
Finally got to watch this!! Thank you for sharing all these helpful tips! I love all the title screens for each section, so cute! How often do you have to replace circut blades? What are the signs to look for? I'm excited to start for my quarantine art projects haha I just need to find the equivalent US glossy white vinyl inkjet sticker paper!
Yay! Excited for you to get one. You'll be able to tell that your blade is getting dull if it starts to make microtears while cutting or if you keep needing to use a higher pressure. There are ways to clean the blade tho to make it last longer 💕
Thank you so much!! This was so helpful and easy to follow.
You're so welcome!
I wanted to get this machine for a very long time to make stickers 😅 But I was so intimidated 😂😂😂
Thank you for this video! I love it! Btw, I super love the sticker sheets and the background do you have a video of that? or a tutorial? Not sure already how many times I watched your video lol
Thank you so much!!! This video helped me a lot!!! Thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge with us
thanks. this was super helpful
You're welcome 😊😊
This was super helpful. Thanks for sharing! x
Yay glad it helped! You're so welcome!
Thank you soo much, your a life saver💯💯💯🙌
Thanks for the walk through! The process is starting to make more sense to me now. I'd be interested to know how your process differs when you use the Silhouette Cameo 4.
Thanks for watching! I'm planning to make that video in the spring :)
What a great tip to also set the outline on the background!! 🙏💜
It definitely helps for those times that the cricut is slightly off!
I need to know how she did this haha please I’ve been trying to figure out since I found this video!
This is insanely helpful, thank you so much, I’ll be coming back to this page in the future for a refresh :)
Happy to help! 😊
Thank you so much for sharing this. Learn so much from you
