    I have ridden some of these trails but never linked it that way. I have been kinda thinking about it when I look at trail forks. I’m still learning the trails out here in California but man you get me stoked on the local stuff. You explain it well bro. Hope to run into you sometime. Thanks man. I learn something new about riding and location when I watch. I’m now going through your older stuff since I discovered your channel. Thank you bro.

Took Wood Canyon and went up Cholla (omg that was tough for a beginner) then rode West Ridge and took Mathis DH. I think rock-it, Car Wreck and 5 oaks might be to advanced for me. Also i'm riding a hardtail. Is Mathis strictly for climbing? Thanks

    So... Physical fitness question... Bear with me - you'll see why I'm asking about this through this video's comments. I've been doing the Loop just about every weekend for the last year and a half. Typical time is about 1 hr 20 to 1 hr 30. When I go to Santiago, starting by Anaheim Hills Elementary, I can make it to the top of the hill, take a breather, ride down Yucca, then head up Coach Whip. BUT, after about a quarter of the way up (or sometimes half), I'm done... I'm walking... What does it take, to get into the kind of shape you need, to be able to keep going to the top of Coachwhip, or to get to the top of Cholla (that's what sparked my question - seeing you climb up Cholla non-stop). Have you done a video on that, or considered it? Maybe it can be called, "What it takes to make it to the top!" Appreciate your thoughts/ reply in advance! P.S. Hope Pip's doing great as always!

    • @TheOutsiderMTB
      @TheOutsiderMTB  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Ben - possible video idea, but in the meantime to be honest it takes more than a one or two day a week commitment. The more rides you can get in consecutively the more endurance you’ll have. If I don’t ride for even a week sometimes it feels like starting over. If I’m riding 4 times a week after the first week I’m pretty solid on no walking. If you can give it a try and ride tougher routes. Fullerton is a good pedal but not much for long strenuous climbs you really need to boost you out of that bubble.

    • @Benihana716
      @Benihana716 4 роки тому

      @@TheOutsiderMTB Thanks, Tony! I appreciate the reply, and the honest feedback! It's hard for me to ride more than a couple times a week, due to my schedule. But at least now I have a better idea of what it would take, if I want to achieve that level of stamina. Thanks again!

      I have numerous trail guides from around Orange County on the channel. Also, download Mtb projects and Trailforks - they are a great tool to mapping out your ride beforehand and making sure you’re on the right path on the trails. I also have specific ride links to the locations from my trail guides in the descriptions. Hope that helps.
