I love the Katy cam. Her commentary is awesome. I’ve always called it mud butt, but I am going to definitely join her in calling it Dookie but from now on!
Sick! Going there on Tuesday the day after it opens after Easter and staying for a couple days... can't wait! It will be the first bike park I've been to!
@@mtb_alan Definitely! IMO the slightly more damp terrain gives you a little extra grip which is nice. I like how you and Katy had the exact same reaction to the mud... OMG 😄
@@mtb_alan This is just what I needed to help get me up to Skypark and do some sessions on Sleigh Ride and maybe more. Climbing sounds way better than Santiago Oaks.
Thanks! I was all talk. Krista, Kelly, and Katy did all the work. 😆 And yes...get up there! If it stays dry this week, should be pretty good in a couple weekends.
LOL you start telling her shell be fine. Youll do fine. In your podcast tgey said they hated hearing that. Hahahahs, but you were right and everyone kicked ass and had a freakin awesome day. .
That’s not quite what they said in the podcast. But you’re right. Krista faced those tricky features and handled it all like a boss. And we all had an awesome day.
It was an awesome day!! It's too bad we couldn't catch all the detailed coaching that happened off camera. Alan spent so much time walking me through everything first. And he never said, "It's easy" 😁🧡The right support and encouragement makes such a difference! 👊🏼
The climb is mellow. There's shade on most of the climb which makes it nice in the summer. It's about a 6mi. climb with only about 200ft of climbing. It's mellow enough that you can easily do a total of 2K+ feet of climbing in half a day of riding without feeling it. Hope that helps!
Wish I could subscribe again, I look forward to every video just as much or more than some bigger Mtb UA-camrs, I'm surprised you haven't got more subs, seriously. Your content is so good, just wanted to tell you that.
Did you all have to make reservations for the park??? I looked up on their site yesterday. Not sure if it was accurate. Also how many runs can you get in. We'll be coming from Vegas were we all pedal like crazy lol. Want to make sure we get our 60 bux worth of riding in lol
Hi! Best to call them and get details on reservations and the like. I know they had COVID related restrictions for a while and am not sure what those are now. As far as how many laps, it of course depends on your fitness, but the climb is only about 200ft with a mellow grade, and it's in the trees and nice. If I'm taking it mellow, in half a day, I get 8-10 laps. And that includes stopping by the coffee house for a hot beverage. So if you get in early and do a full day with a lunch break at The Pedal Pub or smashing sandwiches in the parking lot, you can get your money's worth. Also, dunno if you're a camper, but they have camping right across the street to make a multi-day trip easier. Might be pretty cold up there at night right not though. Hope that helps!
@@mtb_alan thats awesome man. Thank you for the Intel. I'm sure we'll try and make a weekend out of it. A lot of the riders were complaining about pedaling back up but I shit that down hahahaha. Thanks again bro
Ha! Complainers gonna complain. LOL! I think a lot of people go too hard early on (ego or excitement or both) and blow up. I climb in an easy gear from the first lap and find I'm still getting laps long after the overly-eager have retired. Hope that helps!
How’s the Nomad on this trail vs your Bronson? Debating on waiting for the new Bronson, getting the new Nomad or going 29er and getting the Transitional Sentinel.
It was definitely too much bike for those trails...and I still had a blast. The Nomad has big travel, but it’s not sluggish. It really depends on what and how ride or want to ride. Also...have you considered the Hightower?
@@mtb_alan Ahaha 100% man and it's all fun times! If you're ever in the UK be glad to show you round the prime mud surfing location that is Mac Forest!
Krista will rock with 1 or 2 month of mtb riding..nice progress go Krista..
Heck! She rocks now!
I love hearing Krista’s war cries. Super inspiring and fun!! Thanks for sharing this..
Same! Glad it inspired!
Such a rad day 😆 Thanks for showing me how it’s done 👊🏼 You guys rock! 😎
You killed it! It was rad to have you in the crew! 🤘🏾
Great video! "Muddy"...it was one puddle! 🤣 I think a ride in Scotland would be a rude awakening!
Dookie butt!
@@mtb_alan There's an amazing trail at a place called Glentress. It has a section we refer to as "the poo chute".
😆💩

LOL! Katy is great!
Dookie butt it is!
Thanks for the quick chat as we road up upline together that day.
👊🏾
Literally every time I'm at Sky park I always think off MTB ALAN😎
Aw shucks! We'll have to get a lap.
Sweet vid. You always have a rad day at SKYPARK
Thanks! 100%!
That place looks like so much fun. Definitely need to get down there and ride with you guys sometime 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Heck yeah!
@@mtb_alan I see a road trip in my future 🛻 🚲 lol
🤘🏾
Great video! This really helped me get an idea of what to expect there, and most importantly, confidence to go ride it!
Heck yeah!
This got me so pumped to return to Skypark! Great seeing Krista hit those features full on! ✌🏼🤟🏼
I watch this and am amazed that we have such a rad spot so close by! And totally...Krista mobbed it!

Yeah! You’re gonna have too much fun! 🤘🏾
Awesome ride, those trail conditions look mint! I can't believe park season is pretty much already here!
The conditions were pretty good...a bit mucky in spots as you saw. But Neverland was in prime condition!
Gah! Can't wait for Snow Summit to open!
@@mtb_alan Definitely! IMO the slightly more damp terrain gives you a little extra grip which is nice. I like how you and Katy had the exact same reaction to the mud... OMG 😄
😆 Dookie butt!
Team Santa Cruz ripping Santa’s! Looked like a super fun day with a rad Krew. That monster green keeps looking better and better too!
Ha! We looked like we were sponsored or something. 😆 Such a good day! And yeah man...loving that green!
Nice shred!
🤘🏾
Super video! I applauded for $10.00 👏👏👏
Thanks buddy! Love the support! 🙏🏾
@@mtb_alan This is just what I needed to help get me up to Skypark and do some sessions on Sleigh Ride and maybe more. Climbing sounds way better than Santiago Oaks.
Do it! And yeah! 2000ft of climbing at Skypark is waaaay easier than 1500 feet at Oaks. Coach Whip? Mountain Goat? Ouch. 😆
Man that day at Skypary looked amazing! My friends and I are going to go up there on my birthday to do a day of riding filled with stoke!
Heck yeah!
I’m due for a skypark run!
Way to be a good guide/teacher! Always dig your good vibes!

Thanks!
Yeah, once travel opens up, you gotta make the trip. I sometimes can’t believe that this place is so close by.
Very cool 👊🏼

Hey Alan. Or anyone... After a run, how is the bike ride back up? To do the run again? Is it a crazy ride back up? Or how does that work? Thanks

nice ride.

"did you die?" 11/10 question, gonna start asking this one more often
LOL! I can never tell if Katy is screaming for joy, fear, or just because there's mud.

Thanks so much, Jen! Glad you appreciate the work. 🙏🏾
Great video! Im working on arrow now, looking forward to conquering neverland soon
Nice! Skypark is good times!
