There's nothing controversial about what Alex says in this clip and in most parts of the world this is simply common sense. Weak/cowardly people who you cannot trust are not good role models, competition typically results in higher quality products and services, democracy is a good thing (note that he comes from Russia, which is under a dictatorship, so appreciate what you do have).

A form of healing. What he says is a slap in everyone’s face who suffered from depression, bullying etc. and we also still have freedom of speech. I had so much respect for the art he does and still love their record, but every new interview or at least every new Alex video.. man that’s sad. He maybe should use his head first before he opens his mouth. I mean we all could see what he thinks even about his fans when they are not on his side and criticise something he said.. This man is totally incapable of criticism and that’s sad because he’s to damn talented..

I believe he's talking more about weak minded people, who just follow whatever belief that will allow them to fit into the crowd they want. I don't think he means physically or emotionally, it takes strength to deal with depression and such at all.

It sucks to see him have such a mistaken view of "strength", that common mistake insecure men make where they believe stubbornness is a virtue in and of itself. A strong, courageous thing to do in his career would've been when he publicly implied LGBTQ people were child predators baselessly and without prompting. Rather that being brave enough to learn and understand and conversate he recoiled childishly.
So yeah he seems very weak himself and the masculine posturing doesn't change that. And a side note is that freedom of speech protects political speech from government reprisal, not you being criticized or insulted for your opinions. That's also what I would call a cowardly position, a fear of being confronted on your words.
