Recorded: July 23~25, 2003 at Kanagawa Prefectural Exchange Center of Sagami Lake
The first official performance was in 1950 when it was broadcasted through NHK's "Women's Hour" originally sang by Takako Kurimoto.
Akira Nogami (1909~1967), the poet, had five children and he presented each child, on his/her birth, a lullaby. This song was presented to his eldest son Soh, on his birth, a beautiful ballad describing a fairly tale world in full of poetical sentiment. A masterpiece that sublimated father's love to a child to a fine literature.
Ikuma Dan (1924~[2001])wrote the music with lyrical melody that touched our hearts comfortably, and it could be sung in a duet with a child, making a child feel sleepy gradually.
by Gyoji Osada (trans. by Mayumi Okano) from KICC-202 "Mother's Song - Japanese Song Collection" booklet
