Emmy is hilarious 🤣..I just love her to pieces! I can be having the worst day ever and come to Emma's channel and forget about my awful day...this channel is so laid back..it totally relaxes me...! Thank you @Emmymade 😊 xo hydie
She said when she was little, a man sold these outside a store. Reading is fundamental 😂 even if she was trans that wouldn't be any of your business 🤷🏽♀️
I was living in Singapore in the '90s and the supermarket near me had a stall where these were made. Their cakes were red bean paste and chocolate custard, and maybe others but those two were my favourites. Delicious.
@@emmymade have you ever heard of this: try feeding them ground up oyster shells in their water. I don't know if it works or not (I don't have any chickens), but it's an old school remedy that I've heard of. Edit: Some say to by the oyster shells as feed and then put it in a bowl beside the water.
Chickens are born with the finite amount of eggs that they will lay in their lifetime (barring illness or accidents and given the proper care and nutrition etc) it's quite fascinating to see the tiny tiny yolks inside the hen (if you've ever had to process a hen). Given artificial light in winter they just continue to lay their eggs, however they may not lay as long later in life, since I said before eggs are finite per hen. It's good for the hen to rest and take a break. Of course I'm in Texas and our mild (more or less) winters some of our chickens lay all winter it also helped that we hatched a bunch over the summer and they are just now starting to lay at all. Spring we have more eggs than we can consumer or save. Loved this custard cake! What a treat!
This video reminded me of two things that I would love to see you make and taste! 1. Oreshki: it's a Russian cookie that's cooked in a special walnut-shaped pan and filled with dulce de leche. 2.Kaiserschmarrn: it's an Austrain pancake-like dessert, which has an amazing caramelized and crunchy texture on the outside, and it's fluffy on the inside. Both of these are delicious! I'm drooling just thinking about them haha
I too would like to see these! I watched the whole video twice of the people making that dessert where they grow the grass like things and wash them and all the rest from beginning to end. I had no idea what it was but it was quite hypnotizing to me lol. Now I can't remember the name. Getting old.😉
Sportnoi Wow both sound absolutely delicious 😋 Where can I find the recipes? Are there any recipes on youtube? 🤔 Thank you so much for sharing these recipes ❤ Have a wonderful weekend..xo hydie...
We called these 'Japanese pancakes' in the Philippines. They started popping up around the late 90's in major shopping districts in Manila (Divisoria was teeming with these). Either you get it with no stuffing, stuffed with margarine and sugar or stuffed with a measly slice of cheese 😅
Emmy, I have chickens and it's freezing here in upstate NY. I give my birds black oil sunflower seeds in their feed. And I also give them fodder. I have been getting eggs every day. No light needed. They just need extra protein due to molting. Not all are laying but I get atleast 5 eggs a day. Totally worth the little extra work 😁
I would feed mine leftovers that needed to be eaten but no-one wanted. I never went without eggs. But I am in virginia. Not as cold as you but we do get winter.
@@meowmeow7895 yeah I give them whatever is in the freezer as well. Especially expired freezer burned meats. The more protein they have the more egg production happens.
I kept a red heat lamp bulb on our henhouse... it kept their water from freezing and fresh water is vital to egglaying as well as extra food.. Mine lay all year and it's negative temperatures right now in Appalachian mtns
I'm from South Africa and when I was younger my dad used to take me to the local farmers market. As soon as you entered there was a stall that sold these and we got them every. Single. Time. Because they were just so good.
Yum! Hi from Omaha, Nebraska. 👍 I've inherited a retro cookbook originally published in the 1940s that has a lot of very interesting Scandinavian recipes. Every time I come across the unique fish recipes, I think of Emmy.
Im from the Philippines, we call this "Japanese Cake" in Manila. I remember this when I was in Elementary and High School I buy in a vendor from outside of our school. My Favorite filling is cheese and chocolate. Brings back good memories.
Ohh, was it a stationary shop or like a street food pop-up shop? I’ll hopefully be visiting the Philippines some day as my best friend lives there and I’d love to try these out! 😊
I remember this when i was still studying mid 90's in the Philippines, we called them Japanese cake in our University (UE Manila). I always buy this from our cafeteria during recess or for a snack.
Emmy!!!! Please can you make this Thai dessert (I think they also have savory) coconut-rice pancakes recipe? I think it uses a similar gadget in this video. They are called Kanom Krok… they used to sell them at my farmers market but the booth disappeared and now I’m heartbroken and need to learn to make my own. It would make my day to see you make a video for it!
These look amazing! I remember going to Little Tokyo in Los Angeles as a kid- getting freshly made imagawayaki was always part of the visit. My mother, who is from Hiroshima, always called them nijyu-yaki manju.
This is quite a common snack in Singapore. We have it in both sweet and savoury, such as chocolate, peanut butter, cheese, egg mayo and chicken mayo. Personally I prefers the savoury flavours 😋
I've never met a custard I didn't like. I LOVE this episode! Now I'm off to Amazon to buy another Emmy-recommended pan so I can make this for myself. Great job Emmy.
