Japanese are very attached to what ever they make. From simple things, work then to food, they are very perfectionist and quality is a must. This is why i really like Japan.
Those stuffed pancakes look so good. Beautiful golden brown on the cake, and there's a generous amount of fillings inside too. These have to be on my bucket list for things I wanna try in Japan
the cake at the beginning is german treecake :) for everyone who wants to know. its called that way because each layer is baked individually. when you cut it open it looks like a tree.

Funny that stuff like imagawayaki can be found on streets but places like this video are often in a basement floor or similar like at the tokyu food show or isetan. Travel thirsty was probably at isetan because it's connected to mitsukoshi (on the box). The tokyu food show is slightly cheaper with the same foods.
I wish we had things like that around here. I think I could maybe replicate some of the foods I see on youtube but since I've never had it in real life I couldn't say if it's even close.

Looks like Red Bean, Red Bean and Cream, Chocolate, (Egg) Custard and Taro? The price was about $1.50 each depending on filling. We have them here in Australia where you can find Asian grocery stores and food places. But they are $2.70+ here and I think there is more batter and less filling then the ones shown in Japan. But I agree, its a little frustrating not having things like this explained in the Video, even just subtitles will do.
@@Chibinis Thank you for replying :) I did guess most of those fillings except the light colored one (as you say, maybe taro, but Japanese also use sweet potato, chestnut, or lima bean so I wondered).
These are delicious but if one wanted an easier faster version, one could just make a big pancake and spread the bean paste on the pancake and then roll it. The taste would be very similar.

it's actually baumkuchen (rolled cake) and imagawayaki is not a sponge cake like castella (more like pancake)
