This is hands down the most comprehensive, informative, and helpful feeding and care video I’ve seen. Thank you for all your hard work! 🙏🏻

I'll never get over how unique snakes are in every aspect that goes into their feeding. One small detail I appreciated learning was that regurgitation injures a snake's esophagus with the high acidity of the stomach acid.

Always so much I want to say about each video!! The main theme you brought into form for me to understand was the idea that when it comes to a particular snake, knowledge of the species in the wild can be valuable and informative but shouldn't necessarily dictate exact husbandry practices for the species, since they are such contextually different situations for the snake, if that makes sense. And that is why your argument against live feeding is pretty much irrefutable 🙌 your emphasis on full keeper accountability is beautiful and crucial for the well-being of captive animals ❤️ I really dig it. I love learning from you and it will really come in handy when I'm able to start a journey with a new scaly friend.

I always love the vignettes and details from your own snakes, like Hobbes' antics as well as seeing Anu's new enclosure in the vid and hearing about her history of midnight snacks in her garbage disposal days. Additionally, your attitude on learning and imparting knowledge really resonates with me. Okay I have plenty to comment but for your benefit I'll leave it at that 😂Thanks once again Shira! And to Nymeria for her feature!

This is awesome! This has answered questions I've had lately re feeding and being able to tell if they're over and under weight. I'm still very new to snakes (got a baby hognose), I've had lizards for 7 years. Thanks so much for this vid!!!

You're so welcome! I learned things too- and I actually made the decision after making this video to start weighing my snakes every month, AND weighing their food. It shocked me, actually... I had no idea whether I was ACTUALLY feeding them what they needed, and now I KNOW. A scale will cost you under $15, and you no longer have to wonder if you're doing things right.

Thank you!! So in the description, I linked to Reptifiles' page of Snake Care Guides, each of which have feeding guidelines for a handful of commonly kept snakes. Then there are the charts that I put on screen- most of them came from her, but what snake specifically are you looking to research? Let me know and I can point you to more resources if I can.

Assist feeding is not the same as force feeding. I’m against force feeding
