We did breed them to be our companions after all. Its astonishing just HOW much that breeding made them who they are. They're strong, intelligent, and loyal animals that will risk their own well being for that of someone they love and see as a companion or maybe even friend. Hell, you can even make the same argument for the first wolves trained. I like to imagine some guy with a big ol mother wolf who desperately needed food for her babies and thankfully he was there to help. Together the two joined forces and both of them had each others back.
Smart??? And why??? These dogs put their puppies in danger and were unable to help them on their own. What's so smart about that?? In nature they would be dead. Dogs simply made begging humans their tactic to survive, and it works, because stupid people like to feel important at least for beasts since they are not for other humans.
