      One habit in a book called the 7 habits of highly effective people is energizing or cooperating with others because the whole is more than the sum of all parts ...

    Procrastination is the world's number 1 dream killer. Don't let laziness ruin your dreams. Great video- Kushtrim

      Laziness and procrastination are not the same thin. Stop using them interchangeably
      Laziness is sitting on the couch refusing to work out or do ANYTHING (key word is anything). Procrastination on the other hand might look like waking up at 5am to go to the gym, going to work thereafter, coming home to cook BUT NEVER starting on the project you’ve been telling yourself you will start on - this is usually due to some underlying and unresolved fear or stress that you have associated with that particular task.
      With laziness you just don’t want to do anything, but with procrastination there’s a PARTICULAR task you’re avoiding due to a mental block

    Suffer now and enjoy later. Enjoy now and suffer later. Your choice.

      How to hack the system: enjoy suffering.
      In life it basically means to learn to enjoy feeling exhausted after exercising, tired after working, frustrated when failing, etc.. And transform it into motivation.

    Rightly said! The key is not to prioritize what's on your schedule but to schedule your priorities.

    One habit also in 7 habits of highly effective people is being proactive and the second is a win win scenario for all ... A third one is seeking to understand first and then be understood ...

    Disagree slightly with habit 1. I think you shouldn't be result/output focused but rather input focused, that's something you have much more control over. The challenge of productivity has less to do with the output, the output will follow from the focus of the correct input (which is exactly why you need to do less busy work and deal with less distraction like you said).

      I've always agreed with this, but recently heard an interesting take against the "focus on the process over results" on Naval's podcast with Kapil Gupta and it definitely made me think on that. A link if you're interested - ua-cam.com/video/sBtuqpNZwio/v-deo.html - can't give the exact timestamp as I'm going to sleep now, but it's somewhere towards the end, probably 25-30 minutes in or later, though the entire conversation is very interesting so I'm recommending listening to the whole thing.

      @EdwardT9 3 роки тому

      I think it depends... If you are producing things for others, reports or designs or a new marketing campaign, those people want to see results. If you focus too much on perfecting your process and all the small details, but short change the final product, all your great attention to detail, and late nights perfecting your analysis means nothing if it’s not well explained and presented to the final clients. I fall in this trap with reports I write that require complicated data analysis before hand... too much analysis not enough describing and summarizing the results. Also, it becomes too easy to focus on inputs and produce the wrong outputs. If you focus on the results, then you can reject all the time wasting inputs and processes and focus only on what matters.

    • @overnightgrowth
      @overnightgrowth 3 роки тому

      @@EdwardT9 True, context matters for the task. I'm in the same sort of business and that definitely requires stepping past your preferred input. However I benefit the most from not obsessing about getting a perfect result and just start on the task at hand. Which is why I prefer to focus on the input. It's always a balancing act for each specific task of course.

    now if only modern day work places would allow for such things to occur. being that we are dealing with humans.... this will never be able to occur due to the "exceptions" of the human species. Hell you might just be one of those "exceptions" that i am referring to .. maybe even myself... who knows.. but conceptual and insightful. albeit idealistic in some ways.

  • @spencergrubb
    @spencergrubb 3 роки тому

    Sorry, but a lot of this is super idealistic. Stopping work when I start to get tired because "you can only work efficiently for 3 hours?" Silly. If I worked for any less than 6-8 hrs I'd never make any headway. Appreciate a lot of your videos though.
