Dude, you're digging up some great songs. This whole album is the ultimate makeout album. Put it on when you're with your squeeze. Silky smooth, like a velvet kitty.
I agree that Roxy Music 1971-1973 with Brian Eno (synth and electronic devices) is the most interesting period! The sounds in the first album struck us in those days! Eno continued to influence music and art, and still does! "Ladytron" live video gives a hint. Still Bryan Ferry had and has his characteristic style to sing! The videos from consert in Lyon 2011 are great! Check "If there is something" from the first Roxy album. Ferry now with gray hair but the same charm (and with a very nice sax solo by Jorja Chalmers).

Wonderful choice. This is the best band that people mostly aren't familiar with in the USA. They are gold. You could do a whole channel just for them.
For those of us who live close to the Canadian border, we are very familiar with bands from the UK. Canadian FM is super strong on promoting British rock for a very good reason. Canada has excellent rock bands: ie Loverboy, Streetheart, Frank Marino and Mohogany Rush, Guess Who. As well as Gordon Lightfoot, Neil Young, and Steppenwolf. Yes, Steppenwolf
I grew up on the Isle of Avalon in Somerset England. Glastonbury, of the festival, is part of it.

Check out Roxy’s first two albums, totally different style and sound. Their last three albums went for more of a romantic sound, not nearly as interesting as their earlier work
She is "roboting" because this song is about a dream, the sublime and the unattainable. Things are not always what they seem to be. Everything is impermanent, and if you get too close it dissolves and disappears.. Or was it just a dream from the beginning?

The reason they mention all the genres is because it has no real home. Bryan Ferry writes many songs that are hard to analyze. Try not to analyze him. Just sit back and enjoy. Leave the analysis to people who have nothing better to do.

You could do with some isloation between your mic and keyboard - when you're typing my subwoofer is rattling the house! Now listen to 'More than this' by them - it's amazing! If creme brulee could sing, it would sound like Brian Ferry.

"More Than This" is a really good song of theirs. "Avalon" is okay, but it's a bit slow.
