Hey! I think theres a few of us who are getting stuck on how you got the file to the home screen. Once I press okay to everything I dont get a file, I just press okay.

yes try pressign Fn, esc. after that try the fn and ← . i almost cried it taeks so long. dont giv eup i had to spend LIKE N HOUR AND A HALF for a butotn. or also tyr when ur sism is booting up adn the bar is there at the top. press it and it will open. If i ti opens, change the open keybidn to smth else!!! @@avey3724
I responded but apparnetly it didnt send. Try as soona syour gaem launches to press the bar at th top, ti automaitically opens it for you!! If it does, go adn change the button to open it to soemthing easy like /. OR try pressing fn and esc then try the home button i said!@@avey3724

if anyone is struggling with the pop-up regarding not having file permissions; go to program files > ea games > the sims 4, right click open properties > security, look for "to change permissions click edit" and make sure all categories under "groups and/or usernames" have control and modify checked :)

Also if you dont really have a great computer and you put the preset and it closes your game, you may want to delete de SMAA effect cause that might be causing that crash 😊
How to delete it?
@@nakyumiequ1235Go to your Bin folder (2:35) and there you’ll see a folder that says “reshade-shaders”, click on that and then click on “Shaders”, then you have to search “SMAA” and just click on that and delete it 😊

@@may-lynnjean-louis3855 Hi I know this is late and you probably already figured it out but incase some one else has the same concerns you have to remove SMAA in reshade-shaders folder -> shaders. Once I removed this I finally got the reshares I downloaded to work!

Hi! i love your sim style! and your videos, but i have one problem!! so i use a hp laptop, and i use reshade, but some presets dont work for me, like my sims game just kicks me out and i wanted to use your reshade preset, bc its so pretty! but when i tried to load into my game with your preset installed correctly, i watched this whole video for the tut, and im just confused on what i did wrong or if your preset works on certain computers/laptops!???

mine is blurry and not as clear, and it also says there was trouble loading in some files. do i have to adjust settings? or did i do something wrong
I know this is old, but if you didn't install reshade through the same place she did(4.9.1), the shaders will not load correctly as some features aren't supported in newer or older versions of reshade. I hope this helps :D
It works perfectly but I have one issue and idk how to get rid of it. It works well but the comic outline goes through anything white like for example when I’m trying to do an action the outlines go through it. So like when il looking at my skills I just see outlines of an object behind it if that makes sense 😭
when i download this reshade it makes sims 4 crash on start up. it’s not bc my pcs bad

i did what you said but when i open my game its a black screen that says there were some errors compiling some effects check the logs for more details. what does that mean and what should i do differently?

I didn’t know which version sims 4 used. It only said direct3d 9, direct 3d 10/11/12, OpenGL and vulkan. Is it out dated now? And when I right clicked it didn’t give me the option for “open file location” and my pc is updated. I’m so confused. And when I tried opening the file myself, ion use a disk so ion have “local disk” is an option. What do I do 😢?
Hello! Im not sure why but it says effects failed to compile? What do I do I have tried this for hours! It works, but theres atleast 10 effects that arent compiled, not sure what do to, just ignore?

It always says that, you shouldn't really worry about it, usually that doesn't affect the reshade preset ❤
So confused I put the file up to the bin part at 2:47 or whatever but it won’t let me? Do I have to get approved by this ‘administrator’ thing first?

tysm it worked!! :) i have a quick question, is there a way to disable it easily for when youre out of cas mode? and then reeanable it when you edit a sim
You can assign a keyboard shortcut for any effect by right-clicking on it.
yeah, you can do it at all times, as long as you are not in cheat box or in any sort of typing box, then it should work perfectly even in CAS :)
The shader works but is kind of grainy for some reason? Not as smooth like it shows on your game.. any idea why this could be happening?

not sure why, but when I put it in my game.. Nothing is checked for the preset. and when I go to check the boxes I see that you do.. it doesn't look the same
so the app has had some updates since its been a year since this video was uploaded meaning there were a few changes and looks a little different, try deleting some d3d9 files and if that doesent work i recommend looking for a more recent video that looks similar to the one u have.
i dont have shadow in my game why ?

Hi so basically I followed this tutorial exactly but when I go to my game to play it says that it’s unable to save the current preset, and to make sure I have rip permissions to flash program file/EA game/the Sims 4/games/bin/free shade preset.INI.
Check out the comment above how to set file permissions.

Might be too heavy with all the effects enabled. Try disabling them one by one.

Usually the presets work well with subsequent versions.

the reshade file she has in the description is old, you have search on google and the latest version should pop up and you can download that instead

Update: NEVERMINSD SIS! I realised that when I first downloaded ReShade that I had a diffrent folder called reshade-presets and I just put your preset in there and it worked, btw hon your preset is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS, Thank you love 💗

Hi so the issue I am having, when I press the home key it just takes me back to the home of my pc screen. What am I doing wrong?
did you find out what to do? Im having some issues with that as well. She said trying shift and f2 might work but it didnt work for me.
@@Nornoraa yes, long story short I had to go into the files of the program and change some of the coding to set it to a different key. It worked but after all that I didn't like how it looked on my game and uninstalled it altogether and ended up installing gshade instead. It looks better and I didn't have that issue of having to change key coding. You can still use the same presets like the one she has in this video with it.

Presets usually work with subsequent versions just fine.

If the game doesnt show up in origin search in electronic arts it should show up there!

Hello, I have a problem, the outline that surrounds the sims moves me to a distant position where the initial position is (the silhouette is reflected in another space and not on the sim) How do I fix that?
Sounds like a depth buffer detection issue. You can troubleshoot it with the DisplayDepth effect and going into the ReShade settings. Turn the DisplayDepth effect off afterwards.

@slide4skayy turn off Levels in the menu, it reduces the brightness a bit

Try playing around with the activated shaders and only use those that you really need. You can selectively tone down most effects.
It works but my mxao doesn’t work the same. My shadows outlines my character which looked fine but when I changed it to 0 it just disappeared lmao

Did you ever find a fix to this? I have the same issues and my sims still have that shadow silhouette on them

i messed a little with the settings of mxao itself and it worked

How do I hit home on a 60% keyboard. I do not have an FN key.
when i try to open file location it wont pop up on the options. Its completely missing and when I try to open file location other ways it dosent look the same as yours at all. It says "C:\Users\selen\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Steam"\
all file locations are different, it depends where u got your game from, and from what it looks like, its from steam, so if you have a desktop shortcut from the game, right click the sims 4 app, one of the options should say "open file location" click on that, and it shows you the exact files u need to use, for the presets. if it goes "missing" then you are probably in the wrong folder, since u are trying to do the same exact folder location as the creator, the files of the presets go in that same folder of the game, thats the folder you should be using.:)
