Nice install, but did you know there is a place behind the Instrument panel special for that GPS receiver? If you lowering your steering wheel and take out the 2 torx screws and gently push on top of the Instrument panel and take it out, deep in the dashboard there is a spot were your can install the GPS receiver, because it sit so far in the dashboard, it can see the sattelites a bit behind the frontscreen of the car. I installed 2 of such android radio's in my E46 in 2015 a 7 inch, and 2018 a 9 inch. I hope to install my beast of a teyes CC3 (that blows every xtrons or avin out off the water), next month if it's better weather. BTW, by installing a 9 inch radio in to a BMW E46, you have to adjust the radio or the gap in the dashboard because it will not fit. That's for a lot of E46 owners a surprise!
I bought one of the newer OEM+ models and it says that the carplay is built in but mine doesnt even switch over… not sure what im missing but i feel like i might have to order a carplay module to get it to work… idk lowkey been annoying 😂

That was where I modified the boot up process and logo to make it look stock.

I have e46 with harman came with business cd radio installed xtrons 9” like yours but I can’t figure out why it won’t sense the reverse like yours dose in the video
The settings are turned on but I think the car doesn’t tell it
Most of the problems I had were the settings. Also check to make sure you backups lights are working. I heard it operates off those lights.
Is your Model a facelift-version? Or is it before facelift? I heard you have to build in an new cable-set, if you got a model before facelift and wonna install such a Xtrons, cause the old cables wont work with the new cable-slots from the radio or something like that. Is that right? Or is it plug&play like that in every E46 model?
I’ve installed these decks into the pre face lift and the facelift models. Never have had to modify the harness. Plug and play.

This model you have to buy the module. The newer models they released is built in now.
Do you need to relocate the ac?
Yes below the stereo is a open space. Remove the old plastic there and move the wires below and hook it up. It fits good in there and they have a lot to install it in there and it locks in place.
You need to cut your dash to fit
I can't fit my trim in after I screw in the screen idk what I'm doing wrong but its driving me crazy, can anyone help?

If you have the 9" screen you have to turn the trim piece upwards and work it gently in. I know its a pain but it will go in and just takes a little finagling.
You must trim your dashboard and remove your gril.
Bro I bought the same unit but I get no sound any idea why?
My first one was an issue with the amp wire not getting 12v's. Check to make sure you are getting 12vs to your amp wire. 99% of the time that is the problem with these.

Watching you use a screwdriver to remove the trim was worse than nails on a blackboard.

Do what for a living?? Work on cars or make UA-cam videos? I show people the right way of doing stuff. So what if I used a screw driver on a dash that has a foam backing and metal trim piece. The clips make it impossible to remove with my plastic trim remover so the better way is a screw driver. Guess what?? NO damage was done. So no this is a side thing I do. I do it for fun and to show people how to do things and that anyone can do this kind d of stuff. Don’t like the content then find someone else to watch. I have seen way worse on UA-cam when people work on these cars , but thanks for the view👍. Make sure to hit that thumbs up for my video. 🤣
