noob drivers here get a "N" sticker on their car to warn others theyre dumb, i prefer the fast ones compared to the turds driving half the speed limit

Except in australia where they're 2 door versions of the most common car to have ever existed
I can see that as it depends on the general public's view, ours knows them as family cars/derro cars
I'll take Ford Barra I6 reliability over Holden build quality though. Holdens make make better NA power but you tubro a Barra engine and not only will it smoke anything under 12 seconds, it'll last for years. Fucking unkillable. Shame the E-series tax is starting to bite now. AUs are still cheap but they'll be rising in price soon.

Right, 400 horsepower is nothing to snooze at. That LS2 makes good power that will throw you back in your seat.
brandon18054 I just looked up the bone stock ls2 GTO 60 and quarter mile time. 4.6 sec to 60 and 12.9 in the quarter. That is unreal and untouchable by over 99% of the cars on the road at that time and will still keep up with the best of them now. The only things that could take it at the time are a Corvette and maybe a S'charged Mustang Cobra. Unless you're in something other than those machines, you're going to have to have something exotic to outrun that Poncho. They are damn built. I won't even get into the potential they have for mods, like holy shit.
Actually surprised to see a VINwiki story from my own backyard. North Star is a decent local track. And he clearly picked the wrong night to race on I35, cause it's usually pretty clear

Those look like stock photos of the car from when it was first released in 2004

My buddy got out of a street racing ticket because the Officer said his 98 z28 was black. My friend went to court with his paperwork and said Nope it's midnight blue you got the wrong car.
Had a friend in high school pulled over by a county cop going 120 on the interstate in his parents fox body 5.0 Mustang. Cop was nice enough to go ahead and let him pay his ticket for 200 bucks right there so his parents wouldn't find out, the guy didn't even realize that the cop extorted a bribe off of him to make the ticket go away. Laughed my ass off when he told me about it and I said dude you do realize you don't pay a fine on the side of the road, you paid the cop off with a bribe unknowingly.

If you ever play at D14 Airsoft in Sanger, the drag strip is literally 700 feet away. You can hear the cars all day.

I am from the area u were racing at...i have also been stopped by police out there and I must say myself...i received a ticket going well over 100mph and I pull over to 3 state troopers...they said they were going to impound my vehicle and take me to jail. However, they did not...just gave me a ticket ($258) hired an attorney- didn't have to appear in court...done deal. I guess respect goes a long way I suppose.🤠

04 GTO was a LS1 5.7 , 05-06 GTO was a LS2 6.0 The hood has no scoops on an 04.
People that think fast ass cars are slow are the worst. "GTO not the fastest thing in the world, but okay for what it was and for a high school student," WTF? It's a goddamn GTO, it has like 400 hp and hits 60 in under 5 sec bone stock. Btw no high schooler should have one nor deserves one right off the bat.

Thomas Rollins Watch when you get use to your car, parents gave me G35 at first 300 ponies where way to much for me (at the time 15 almost turning 16) I would spin out many times trying to act like a cool hooligan going sideways, 3 years later and I'm not afraid of the cars power, let alone the speed, car shakes a little crazy once your in the 150mph zone the first times reaching that speed was quite frightening, but after a while I guess you get use to your car's top performance, at this moment I'm not sure if I want to get a new engine and go with FI or just buy a new car all together.
That's not fast when we have tons of 1k+ hp cars lmao

I have often thought about aggressively braking to avoid a ticket in a situation where I come up next to a cop. I can't believe it actually worked for you. Had he over-run the Mustang at that point and was worried about getting back to it?
We were entirely behind the mustang, the officer just slowed down even more.

While I don't recommend running from the cops, sometimes you will have this split second window to "get out of Dodge" . And sometimes its worth the gamble.

Did 140 in a Porsche 911. I was 20. I was rolling at 120 when I saw the lights. Hit the gas and went forward for about four more miles, got off on a ramp, and then went into a town and parked in a mall's parking garage.

I get the people complaining that this story was told poorly -- but I don't think VINwiki should take the comments here and pull back on never having this guy again or being more exclusive on who they choose to tell a story. I think ANYONE with a good story to tell should come on. The only thing I would recommend to VINwiki would be to give more direction to those who aren't natural story tellers, are overtly nervous, etc. I'm sure you have plenty of time to get the story on video and can 'direct' people who need it into a good editable clip.

I did almost this exact same thing one time. I just knew that if I made it to the exit I was going for, the jurisdiction would totally change and the two agencies never really worked together. So I watched the other guy pull over, I paced it well enough for the cop not to see my plate, and I hit my exit. And it worked.
That was a long time ago and it's absolutely not at all worth the risk.
So... The crazy way y'all got out of the ticket was pulling off on an exit and sitting there? Fascinating... So crazy

So the guy says his friends GTO had an LS2 which was an engine that was offered later in production of the GTO was 6.0 liters. Yet the pictures show 5.7 liter which is an LS1. Just a small mess up :)

What's funny is they are listed as having a limited top speed of 155mph but for some reason this one had more in it! It was odd.
Gotta pick the right times to street race or make runs. Know your streets, know your cop cars, know where they sit. Know your exits, and know your hideouts.

i ran from the pork patrol twice in my life and escaped both times, but every other time i had to yield. if you know you can easily outrun them without any danger, do it, save yourself some money
