Just used one and so far so good. Its forgiving and allows for a couple adjustments after putting on the toilet. With wax, adjustments after the toilet is down just increases your leak risk
Agreed, 2+ yrs in on mine at home, and several at work, and no issues. We use the same in commercial buildings at work. #1 reason most folks hate to reset a leaking toilet - WAX.
This works great, as long as the flange is low enough the toilet will still sit flat. I had to use that self leveling concrete to fix a floor below one toilet that had leaked and warped the floor, that is the only gasket that would not leak. The other toilet where the flange was on top of the floor, wouldn't allow the toilet to sit level, I had to use the standard wax gasket. I'd of rather used perfect seal, and their website says that black plastic insert should be removed.
This was great for my application. My floor around my toilet is not level. Big hump on the right side and the back left corner slopes away. Almost impossible for the toilet to sit flush on the flange and be level without shimming. I replaced my original toilet with a new toilet a year or two ago and used a standard wax ring. I decided to install it flush on the flange and leave it unlevel. Great seal, but you could tell the toilet wasn't level when you sat on it. The other day we put new flooring in, so we had to pull the toilet. Used a standard wax ring again and decided to level it this time. With all of the rocking and lifting to level it, I must have broken the wax seal and it leaked. I decided to give this one a try. This was great for when I was shimming the toilet level, since no matter how much I lifted and repositioned the toilet, the rubber gasket will still be sealed on the toilet. My flange (looks like a repair flange) sits at least 1/4 inch above the floor, so I took out the blue extender and took out the black insert before even trying it once. Seems to have worked so far!
Will this work with my older lead flange? My flange is same height with my ceramic tile floor. My concern is this: Respect Animals 3 years ago Two big dislikes. My flange is flush with my floor so I didn't use the blue adapter as per the instructions. My toilet rocked side to side so I removed the toilet to take out the black insert (also as per the instructions) and was shocked to see how much paper thin wax was pushed downward beyond the horn & ready to go down the drain. I'm glad I saw it in time. -- By the way, the rocking continued after removing the black insert. Perfect Seal was about an 1/8 inch too tall for my flush to the floor flange & my 2019 Toto toilet # C454CUFG. I went back to a regular wax ring and the toilet sat flush on the floor.
4x the price of plain wax rings but works for rusty/uneven flanges and uneven floors. Raised flanges too if you remove the blue top and black plastic middle.
My situation is pretty much same as yours. I have led pipe eith brass flange that is 1" below tile. Planning on installing with blue spacer. Shoukd I remove the black insert. Have a right height elongated Toto toilet. Appreciate it if uou could share opinion. Liked the video !
Dude you’re right. 100+ toilets. Never have I ever seen a nice even flange. They’re always trash. Also who caulked that wood floor to base? Terrible job. Looks like they just cut the tip off and used the gun only
So my sewer pipe is cast iron and measures 4 1/2 inches in diameter ... the opening inside is at 3 3/4 inches. The flange will be about 1/8 above the level floor when done. What flange and I'm thinking this Danco perfect seal without the blue "extension" on top ..?
After extending and leveling my toilet flange, it is now about 1/16” below my new vinyl plank floor. I’m not sure whether to start by leaving the blue adapter in because there are no parameters as to the distance the flange is below the floor
Not criticizing, but there is a plastic collar they use with shipping to help keep the form of the wax, that is supposed to be removed... it looked like you still had it installed...if you or anyone have experienced any leaks, it would be because the collar was not removed... if not removed, the wax cannot get pushed further into the drain hole to seal... that would result in why you did not feel that "flat"connection when you pushed down... the collar was preventing it...
I'm not sure that is accurate. From the Danco Perfect Seal instructions: "Depending upon the height of the floor flange and the toilet horn, there may be instances when the toilet may not sit flush to the floor. In these situations, the black plastic ring that is inside the gray rubber casing of the Perfect Seal can be removed."
Like the product, but never use silicone, it won't seal permanently if there is a leak. The water will find it's away around it. You don't remove the toilet every year and refresh the silicone. Silicone allows a leak to soak the subfloor over time, and then your toilet screws got nothin left.
I agree there's got to be a better way of engineering a toilet. I think the Europeans toilets have us beat as far as engineering as their toilets drain is a pipe behind the toilet. It doesn't look as good in my opinion, but the design I think just works better as far as leaks and toilet stability. I also agree with you siliconeing the LVP around the flange. We renovated our guest bathroom and we used water proof LVP and used "seam sealer " on all the planks as well as silicone around the flange in hopes that should it leak it, liquid won't go in-between the floating floor. That would just be very unfortunate! Lol!
@@TC-tw5zkyes, because i am not able to install my toilet flush to the floor. tried to push down but something always stuck. so i have to remove black plastic. should i not remove it?
@shenroong it only says to remove if toilet is not level...rocks etc....that's what I've been seeing. I too have a sewer smell and planing to swap out the danco with a standard wax ring....see what happens

@@Bob31415 I've actually used one a week ago on a residential service call that was very uneven tike it worked good but in new construction there so competitive every dollar counts
You're supposed to remove the hard black plastic piece from inside the rubber ring. ua-cam.com/video/PnX-XSlCfvE/v-deo.html This thing works great btw. I installed one and set a new toilet by myself.
No you are NOT supposed to remove the black plastic insert!!! That black plastic insert is ONLY removed under certain circumstances; that’s when the blue insert has been removed because the floor flange is above the floor and the toilet rocks because it’s too high. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!!!
I installed this today. Here is what Step #6 in the instructions says "NOTE: Toilet can be repositioned in seal, if needed, unlike with traditional wax rings. IF THE TOILET DOESN'T SIT FLUSH ON THE FLOOR, remove the black round plastic insert from inside the Perfect Seal and reset.

I used it and it worked perfectly. Cleaner lined up better sealed fine. 👌
Great video install one 3 years ago 👍 tomorrow I'm helping a friend with a leaking problem.
2 words. "Fluid Master" and that's it. No wax No difficulty No fail. I put one in 5 years ago, and its solid. No pun intended.

You caulked the shit outta that area 🤣
Put one on yesterday. Seems to be working flawlessly.
Make sure to mention to remove the black cover inside the seal. I’ve seen mistakes be done that way lol

Sweet baby Je$u$ that flange isn’t just below the floor level. That almost seems like a well. 😂
Yup. Definitely the lowest I’ve encountered!!
on the perfect seal there's a black ring insert inside the seal that's supposed to be taken out
So it fit that doesn’t mean squat they all fit. The question is how long do they last.
I've had toilet flange seals leak immediately...
I used one! It was the easiest thing I ever done.
Just wondering. In the event u develop a clog and u use a toilet auger, will the auger hit the seal?
No this is just relaxing a regular wax ring. All good!
How has this been working for you?
Joe are you still happy with the perfect seal? Thinking about using one. Thanks.
Sorry that I never saw this. 2 years later, it’s still perfect. I have adopted these as my go to!!
