A nice insight channel for visitors to Istanbul. I'm still undecided in joining a trip to Istanbul next month. What currency would you recommend for tourists to carry? I assume as with most countries, the local currency is preferred for shopping/purchases in local shops. Where would you recommend for tourists to change USD/EUR into TL? Thank you.
I first discovered Istanbul in 1969 and have been a constant visitor ever since. I worked at the Middle East Technical University in Ankara for 2 years as an English Lab Teacher, as a result I speak a lot of Turkish. Turkey is my second home as I have also travelled extensively around the whole of Turkey. The people are wonderful and the food is one of the best in the World. Unfortunately prices have risen through greed but is still a bargain place to go.

Loved this video even though I'm not planning to visit right now. I can see how helpful your videos can be for people planning a visit. They are excellent. You definitely sparked my interest in the history of Istanbul and I'm now even learning Turkish. ❤ from England
Very informative. Thanks. I am going to Istanbul this week, for the fourth time in two years. We've tried a lot of tips, thanks for them...and maybe next time we'll contact you too, as well-informed guides. Good luck.
Thank you very much Bery for this informative video! I love Turkey very much and I also think that its food is so nice and rich, like its culture, landscapes and its people. Istanbul sums up all this. 💕
Your videos always make my day 😍 I feel like I will love this city all my life. It's a bit difficult for me to travel at the moment but once I save some money I will buy ticket to Ist 🥰
I LOVE ISTANBUL! Kadikoy! I will go on your food tour the next time I am in town. eSIM is the only way to go. Just be sure your phone will work (I'm American.) From now on, I'm staying on the Asian side of town. The ferry is a Bosporus cruise, and only a buck! The Kadikoy market is just up the hill, and I enjoyed the fantastic Turkish food in the small restaurants very cheaply. #55 Cats, cats, cats!!! These are the 'Istanbul Ambassadors."
@@BeryIstanbulTips I can't wait to get back. I took the asian subway and just randomly got off at Maltepe, which wound up to be better than Minneapolis!
The most important thing: always ask in advance how much it costs if the prices are not listed. 2. Uber instead of taxi! Our taxi drivers have their own mafia-micro-economy.
@@BeryIstanbulTips thank u bery, im from a tropical country Philippines and it was my dream to experience a winter season , fortunately my highschool bestfriend is married to Turkish and she invited me to visit their place Kartepe 😊

It's been a year already since my two month visit to Istanbul! I did a lot of the items in this list, and some of them several times!
I bet you were able to cover a lot during those 2 months! Hopefully in the future you plan another trip ✈️
