my grandma is a prime example. we've been working to fix up her VT rental for a long time, but she only wants to rent via word of mouth and isn't open to online booking, Air BNB, or VRBO, despite me trying to show her the benefits. It's so disappointing tbh. Hopefully someday we can get it properly listed.

Everything feels a bit slower and weird this summer in general - less with STR and more with the world. But we really actively try not to get wrapped up in that thought process because it seems to perpetuate it (at least for us) and also not trying to be naive either. Usually with Airbnb specifically, the furthest out we get bookings is about two months and normally it is a few weeks out. So far our August, September & October are booking as usual so we are keeping a positive outlook! July was slower than last year -- we are also seasonal so we take all those factors into account!

I will never book another Airbnb again. A lot of people feel that way.
