Playing through this at the moment, about 8 hours in and this is the best "almost there" game of 2022. Like everything in this game is decent, but if each element was 20% more polished, this would be great. AFAIK this is the dev's first game and I appreciate what they've done. I really like the exploration, I really like the choices, the story is good as well. The gameplay is decent, with a bit of polish, could be great. This also goes to the dialogue and the main hero, it's almost there but doesn't really hit the spot. The gear system is absolutely amazing, from the first hour you have to think about your gear and stats, tinker with the rings to have the correct stats to use such weapons. Also love the system where upgrading the weapons increases their requirements, so you really have to think about that as well. Man, I like this, but also wouldn't recommend this to the general audience.
The fact that this has split screen coop, sets it apart from other games of this genre. There are almost no 3rd person split screen coop RPGs out there.

It gives me some dragons dogma vibes sort of, and it's full couch and online coop what makes it really neat. Not a lot of these kind of rpgs offer coop, that blasts it forward a lot.
yea last one I can think of is Outward? that was years ago, the extra survival elements that one had kinda helped making it feel a bit more unique tho.
I did give Outward a try back then, but my wife and I rather quickly decided that the steep difficulty of that game limited the exploration and thus our enjoyment of it rather severely.

According to how slow animations on enemies are, whoever was recording gameplay was playing it on STORY mode, not DARK mode. In Dark mode, Enemies are attacking much faster than in Story mode. So the game itself feels harder.
It's £18 atm on PS5, haven't checked SX yet mate, hope that helps, if you've bought it let me know what you thought of it, btw Deadspace remake is immense.

this game screams risen/gothic and two worlds so bad its good jank rpg mixed with a souls style combat system. deffo looks like a fun thing to cop down the line in the Christmas sales when its £20 or cheaper (hopefully gets a patch for the lack of control options and meh performance)

As the type of person who loves souls and RPGs this is a hell no. Buy steelrising. That game is legit. Or the Surge 2, Nioh 2, or Elden Ring. This has the worst HUD and animations I've ever seen. It's laughable. If it had good animations and a slick HUD it could've been decent.
