    Amazing locale, the smoke haze was a bit saddening, but hearing the loon calls was lovely. I really liked the silver (usually do, it’s shiny!). Interesting building - I’m picturing a tiny home with a deck all around, but I do realize that’s not it. Leaches - ewwwww. Great idea to hit the water! Me like!

    @Campsite-ke2wf 2 роки тому +1

    Hey meMiner! What technique do you use to clean the rocks up? Some sort of acid dip? HD wire brush?....the silver just pops after this step/method.

    • @meMiner
      @meMiner  2 роки тому +1

      In the field, I just rub on another rock or my pants. At home, I usually start with dish soap and a tooth brush and then decide what to do next. If there is very little on the outside but the rock has potential, I just slice it. If calcite, it can be etched in acid but sometimes this results in a black blob, especially if the "silver" is a mixed metal high in cobalt. When I am lazy and the rocks are small(ish) -such as in this case) - I put them into a rock tumbler with polish and tumbler media and simply see what they look like after a "short" while. I know someone who will work hours on a sample with a Dremel, but I don't have the patience.

    • @meMiner
      @meMiner  2 роки тому

      The only place a leech can attach to Daisy is her belly. The rest of her is covered in thick fur that they cannot get through. I am not sure what would happen if one bit her. She has a tick medication which would kill any tick that drinks her blood. I wonder if it would do the same to a leech? I have only seen one leech on her belly and she pulled it off with her teeth before I could help her. I have one video where dore bars were made with the silver ore. I have not had any of the dore refined.

    Hey, You Miner! Good to see your face. Really Cool Silver rocks. Sweet design on your hoody : ) Water and Leech resistant? Thank goodness leech don't have teeth, like the rabid beaver that bit the Chigg on the booty. Didn't end well for the beaver. Shook Beau up, but I think he'll be okay. Had booster shots he said. Big Hug : )
