- Turkey has expressed intentions to buy a second batch of Russian-400 anti-aircraft missile systems. As per TRT, the president of the Turkish defence industry, Ismail Demir confirmed that the “purchase of the second batch of S-400 is on the agenda.” The US has been actively trying to prevent Turkey from buying S-400 air defence systems from Russia. OK, but it sure as HELL won't be remotely as capable as the F35. I only know of one jet more capable than than the 22/35 set. It is the first 6th gen flying, and it is Japanese, designed with massive help from US weapons designers. It is friggin AWESOME looking. You can immediately see one major difference when you see it in flight, even if you know NOTHING about aircraft, and it is a difference that makes it vastly more effective than an F35 or F22. Think several full time wing men, without the men. And I can guarantee you they fully integrate to carry out missions, with the pilot and with each other.

Such systems are always a political thing, as they require long term maintenance and thus bind the customer country to the delivering country long term.

That's why they didn't impose sanctions on Russia unlike the west. So What did the U.S. do for Turkey? They applied sanctions, embargos on Turkey. They removed Turkey from F-35 program and didn't refund their about 2 billion $ which were expected for acquiring F-35s. USA supported the coup attemp against Turkish government. (The Gulen Project). They are still feeding PKK/YPG terrorist organizations for dividing Turkey and much more! Turkey feels itself closier to Russia.

As a Turk, I absolutely support this attitude. NATO members are providing weapons and financial aid to terrorists against Turkey in Syria. They did not impose an embargo on Turkey and did not sell the Patriot air defense systems. This naturally causes Turkey to move away from NATO. If our NATO allies continue in this way, Turkey will come closer. to russia. Unfortunately, it is NATO members who cause this.

The Turkish army potentially has the largest army in Europe. They are officially handing over the second largest army of NATO to Russia. They are forcing them to side with Russia. In my personal opinion, Russians are much friendlier than both Americans and most other Western countries. They are building a nuclear power plant in Turkey. They even sold the S400, one of the world's most advanced air defense systems. However, NATO members, which we call allies, did not even sell their old patriotic air defense systems, moreover, they tried to sell their scrap patriotic air defense systems even more expensive than the S400 air defense systems.

There was no American offer of $100 billion to Turkey, and if it had been made, Turkey would have jumped at it. That's serious cash, far more than Turkey's annual budget. This whole SS-400 dispute arose from the United States' refusal to share Patriot SAM technology with Turkey and permit them to manufacture Patriots locally under license, something that the United States has not permitted anyone else to do. Turkey's purchase of the Russian SS-400 got Turkey cut out of the far more important F-35 program, for which Turkey was scheduled to manufacture certain parts. Erdogan is crazy like a brain-damaged fox.

Turkey do have the right to buy defence equipment from wherever it wants. Though I wish they would hold off buying until the end of the war, but as no one knows exactly how long that would be, turkey can't be expected to wait that long. This is also the reason Turkey hasn't followed NATO in sanctioning Russia. As I doubt the Russians would sell the most advanced SAM to a nation that actively works against them. Turkey is right, its an internal policy, USA has no right to tell them where they get equipment from. (especially since they won't sell certain things to Turkey).

The point is that such systems come with a long service life and a need for spare parts and maintenance to be provided by the seller. This creates a political bond between the seller and the buyer. This is the reason why the US went bonkers over the purchase, as it created a bond of loyalty towards Russia, especially in a time where the US is viewing Russia as a prime adversary that it is commited to bring down. Erdogan wants to play all sides while not committing to anyone. That will lead to big trouble as soon as the conflict in Ukraine spirals out of control.
But for India it is Okay to buy the S 400. Turkey is Right!

The problem is that the S-400 system can gather information on tracking the F-35 and learn to adjust frequency to optimize detection. Which is not a good thing if Russia gets this information via a network connection.

Also recently, the US has been importing the most Russian oil and gas than everyone else. Because the US set a stopping date of imports of April 22, they are importing the most out of anybody. The truth is that Canadian and American oil are dirty and expensive to get. To prove that, 1 barrel of american or canadian oil is 100 USD, while Russia sells hers at 35 USD a barrel. That's also why India is importing massive amount of Russian oil and gas despite the US's warnings because its cheap.
Recently, russian oil barrels don't mark its destinations. Normally, on those barrels should be written to which country its going, but recently, it only said oil on the barrels because Europe is secretly buying russian oil and they are censuring it because they are scared that the US discovers them.

S500 is not the more improved version of S400. S400 is high altitude defence system. S500 is at the atmospheric level such as hypersonic missiles. Two different things.

The S-550 is also owned by Russia. On December 28, 2021, Russia announced the testing of its first ever s-550 system. Russia also has the world's largest missile arsenal with over 6,500 nuclear weapons. Russia also has two of the world's most powerful missiles ever, these are the RS Sarmat (or the Satan 2) and the original Satan.

True and some US generals admit it on interviews that Russian air defence is good as advertised. In just 2nd week of the military operation, Ukraine already crying for a no fly zone in whole of Ukraine airspace coz no more air power left in Ukrainian air force.

President Trump blamed Obama Administration about the S400 issue. Turkey was willing to purchase Patriots from the U.S. but Obama Administration did not sell Turkey Patriot missiles and They got S400s (the best SAM systems for now) in 2016. Purchasing of the second batch of S400s is not something new based on the signed agreement between Turkey and Russia in 2016. If you don't sell them Patriots, they will look for alternatives. That's simple!
Turkey also faced unfair embargos, sanctions from their so called "NATO allies" because of acquiring that systems. There is no restriction about not acquiring military equipment from Russia within the scope of NATO rules, regulations or obligations. Every country has the right to defend itself and has the right to make a decision independently for its interests! That's the reason why the gap is widening between Turkey and NATO!

Turkey is really disappointed with performance of bayraktar drones in Ukraine.It didn’t live up to its expectations.Both Turkey and Ukraine were expecting to turn the tide of war using Turkish drones in Donbass,instead its getting shot down on daily basis.So now Turkey had realized that their weapons are inferior to Russian one and in future Turkey will buy more weapons from Russia apart from S400

Well, actually Mr egg head, the S400 has a friend-or-foe identification system, so using them against Russian equipment is impossible. This is the reason why Ukraine is being able to strike targets inside Russia.
