Why did you drop out the air inlet flap from the filter box? Every part of the car has its own functionality. If it is not working we have to replace it.
No it doesn't, this specific inlet flap is usless on multi point injection and occurs on EPC & Check because of rich mixture. Inlet flap was useful on carburettors fuel system only for starting engine on cold weather.

According to official repair manual, the flap opens and closes a hole on the exhaust manifold shield, when the engine is cold it opens the flap and directs heated air from the exhaust manifold to the engine which helps it warm up faster. Once the engine is hot the flap closes and the engines gets the air from normal tube (cold air). You can test if the flap mechanism is broken by spraying cold air from a can (air duster) on the spring and watch if it retracts and moves the flap.
i've done the same on a 2016 motorcycle, but the airbox valve was electronically openen/close so disconnecting the wire was all that took. but bikes don't have MOT's and cars do, what about the emmissions co2 reading after this valve is removed, what it still pass a testreading?

It will drive nice for some days and then all of a sudden cut off while driving then i have to wait for some minutes and it will start again i have changed fuelpump,map sensor, crank and camshaft sensors and throttle body no luck. So saugt er ständig, vorwiegend erhitzte Luft vom Auspuffkrümmer. Hab bei meinem noch den Stutzen über dem Ansaugkrümmer verschlossen, damit das nicht passiert.

Καλησπέρα κύριοι! Έχω ένα αμαξάκι Seat Ibiza 1.0mpi το 8βάλβιδο του 2001 και αντιμετωπίζω εδώ και καιρό (1 χρόνο περίπου) το πρόβλημα με το EPC και Check Engine λαμπάκια. Το αρχικό πρόβλημα ήταν η EGR, το ηλεκτρικό κομμάτι της, την αντικατέστησα και τώρα εχω το θέμα οτι δεν μπορούν να περαστούν οι βασικές ρυθμίσεις και το EPC γιατι έχει θεμα η βαλβιδα στοπ των φρένων την οποία άλλαξα επισης και εξακολουθω και έχω τα ιδια λαμπακια... Εχει κανεις ιδεα τι μπορεί να συμβαινει;
Το συγκεκριμένο κλαπέτο χρησιμοποιούνταν σε αυτοκίνητα με καρμπυρατέρ και βοηθούσε να πάρουν μπρος τις ψυχρές μέρες, σε αυτοκίνητα πολλαπλού ψεκασμού είναι άχρηστο και δημιουργεί προβλήματα που αναφέρω, επειδή εμπλουτίζει το μείγμα.

It is just useless for multipoint injection systems, it helps on cold starts on carburateur fuel systems.

καλησπερα φιλε μου..μ αναβει και μενα epc kai engine light ταυτοχρονα..αν σβησω γυρισω διακοπτη 3 φορεσ κ ξαναβαλω μπροστα σβηνουν..στο διαγνωστικο εβγαλε μονο p1142.. φορτιο κινητηρα..τι μπορει να ειναι..υπαρχει περιπτωση να ειναι το κλαπετο αυτο? εχει αλλαχθει egr και εγινε και καθαρισμος πεταλουδας..
ναι αφαιρεσε το δεν πρεπει να υπαρχει εκει

I found the problem it was the EGR valve that was dirty and sticky cleaned it driving very well now.
