Clearing Trees After an Unexpected Windstorm | Skidmarks Trail Build Ep 2 ½

- This video takes place between the second and third phase of our trail build series at the Driving Range. Hailey and I had a few mountain bike trips planned, but just a few days after we finished the second phase of the trail build, our area was hit with a period record rainfall. This rainfall would span most of July and into August and included a major flood and a few heavy windstorms that would add quite a bit of extra work to the project. This didn't really into a normal video, so I'm posting it separately.

I don't care how UA-cam has not been going well, your riding, building and video quality is still some of the best out there
Your such a great rider and the builds are always sick. So stoked for the future build videos
I have been looking forward to more Phil’s World content. This is such a cool channel.
I started editing the third phase video and realized i needed to make this video first as a lot of stuff got left out. So there's a lot more footage to come!
Hope you've been well Phil, thanks for the content man always enjoy these. Cheers
As always, your Workin' In The Woods videos are first rate.Just be careful so we can keep enjoying these!
How very exciting, looking forward to seeing what you have been up to. cheers. :)
Been super busy since we got back from BC. Honestly I've barely ridden as i have been spending most my time building! Can't wait to show off what we have :)
I love your videos and you are very skilled at building cool stuff. The only think I would recommend is when you cut up a tree, I generally like to cut all branches off flush with the log- the main reason being safety. If you were to come off the trail and hit that, you would hurt yourself real bad on the 3-6inch studs you leave on
You are right, and i do cut branches flush. There are a lot of "small" tasks that i do when the camera isn't rolling.
More work...have fun.
The work never ends!
Awesome
July 10th and 11th were really devastating to us here in Barre, VT it is going to be a long road for many here to recover from the flooding.
When it rains it pours...literally, we had a year simular to that a few years ago. Storm comes through, get trails cleaned up just in time for another storm.
Most of the trail builders in the state were getting pretty demoralized this summer. So much time went into fixing things instead of building new stuff. Luckily September was about as perfect of a month and we were able to make up time.
That good that you were able to make up some of the time, we got lucky late August early September, our Electric company(R.E.M.C.) came out with their equipment and had the trails cleared in a day, it was a huge burden lifted off us. Can't wait to see you trail in its entirety!!@@PhilsWorld
You are one tough chick. ❤
🐣
On the airplane "they get a double window, and what's this?!" You got a Riser Duct to move conditioned air up to the ceiling distribution duct
Woah very cool tidbit of knowledge, thanks for sharing!
Cuts wood all day and then rides.
I can only do one.
Great video! Your caption footnotes flash on the screen very fast. Have to pause video to read on some of them
I add these with the assumption that most everybody who's watching has the ability to pause the video if they want to read the caption. I'm a slow reader, I do it all the time.
I like the on screen text for giving context and info, but it was often shown a little too short (especially if a second line was added later) so I had to pause the video quite often
I just assume most people know how to pause and unpause a video :)
How many batteries did you go through on the blow down cutting? Seemed like an awful lot of cuts.
I think i needed 3 of my 9ah flex volt batteries for this. I usually carry 4 on me when I know I'll be doing a lot of cutting.
Hi ❤❤❤❤ hi
Good to hear from you Jax!
Ahh, so that's where all the rain in the midwest went this year (we've had a terrible drought).
The worst part is even with all that we still had to deal with bad air quality because smoke from Quebecs forest fires kept blowing in. It was an interesting summer!
Man I hate dealing with #WidowMakers so unpredictable 🌳🌲🪵 God job safely done 👍🚵🏻
Widow makers aren't fun. I try to avoid messing with them but this one had to be taken care of.
