In Louisiana there are lots of black cowgirls and cowboys like lots cause I'm one of em
Thediamondstud T Great! We need to talk then because I want to put together a documentary on this very subject matter. It is very fascinating for many of us
shareefs agree!! they is also a black rodeo coming up in march in lafyette louisisana and it shows that black cowboys and cowgirls exist but its open to anyone who wants to compete
Okay great! I am going to look into the rodeo coming up. I plan on covering the rodeo here which is also in March. If they are not on the same weekend I can also try to attend the one in Lafyette as well. Thank you so much. I will be sure to keep in touch. I have already spoken to the Head of the Rodeo here. By the grace of GOD I hope to put together a documentary on this very subject matter.
shareefs ok cool thanks
Sure hope Girls of COLOR (cowgirls) come Barrel Race here in San Antonio,Tx. Rodeo in February 2018. I am no cowgirl but, honor my father by attending every year. Every Rodeo show and Star performances daily. Hee!! Haw!! Lo❤e it🐎
I'm a black equestrian, I ride English but this made me smile so hard!
I am happy it had that effect on you. I hope it is the same for so many others. Thank you for watching. I hope to put out more like this.
+shareefs awesome! Black equestrians definitely need more media coverage so people know this IS something black people do!
DaydreamingEquestrian I agree 1000%. Please stay in touch because I am almost certain I want to put together a documentary on this.
+shareefs definitely! I'm actually getting my degree in Equine business management and riding on the teams at my school. My goal is to ride in Rolex and the Olympics!
That is great! I will definitely keep in touch
I really wish I had seen stuff like this growing up. I was deeply fascinated with horses. It was a black judge that taught me the history of The Cowboy. He saw me staring at the black men in cowboy outfits in a painting. Since then, I had a new perspective of history.
It's great to see the original Indigenous Cowgirls/Cowboys doing they thing, thanks for sharing.
hiddenfallsmystic yes indeed!!!!!
Right I wish they would stop referring themselves as black
@@drellz9361 why?
wolf wtf? Then do want white people stop calling themselves whites? Or Chinese people asians? Or German people europeans?
@@faithsanders2730 You do know that all these colors are not what people originally called themselves, right? lol
Thanks for making and sharing this fantastic video. Seeing black women riding hard like this just reminds me that black people can indeed succeed at anything we set our sights on.
+R Russvar Your welcome and thank you R Russvar for watching.
Real talk, can and do!!! #Indigenous
Fabulously done!
Awesome! Horses don't care what color you are.

+LaShawnda Phillips That is awesome! In the future if possible would like to see videos of you horse riding. Need to have more images out there of black women as cowgirls and in a positive light.
+shareefs ok I think I can do that
+shareefs Ebony Horsewomen Save me!!!!
+LaShawnda Phillips I look forward to seeing it. Thank you and all the other cowgirls out there representing.
+shareefs No Prob We Girls in CT Got This!!!!!

Wow..you go QUEENS....KEEP IT ALIVE N THRIVING.
Outstanding!
this freakin rocks my freakin world
im not black but im mixed, and it dosnt matter what race you are to be a true cowgirl. it matters on the bond with your horse
Me too I'm mixed
Nothing wrong with that! Just have fun!
Alyssa G so true!🙄☺

To be honest it does because coming from where im from I never seen a black girl on a horse and i love it ! I think more of us should definitely do this ... U dont see this everyday !

That was exhilarating & breathtaking!
I totally agree! That is how i felt when I was filming it
I like when they let the reins .”go”...they be ouuuuuut....
Hello Ladies, this here white girl is proud to say i raced these ladies in Kansas City at Benjamin Stables, and lost. I will never forget that night Barrel racing in a Black Rodeo was a career highlight. Love you!
Loving it! Hat of to these Black Cowgirls for their dedication and relentless work to the profession.
I am in full agreement
They were black? I couldnt tell with out your comment. Thanks for clearing that up. For a moment I thought they were Chinese. This comment brought to you by Sarcasm International.
girl # 2 is an awesome rider!! a natural!!!
I LOVE this! I have never seen or been around black cowgirls! This is awesome! And it's about time! The first time I've seen African American Barrell racers. ☺
The event is great to see in person
you will be surprised but majority of cowboys through history were African American and Mexicans. The first jockeys were black people. So don't be surprised cause rodeo is part of African American history.
Rebecca Walton We are talking about American history. Kentucky Derby is the oldest and prestigious horse racing event in America. Majority of the jockeys in the beginning were black people and the first jockey was black. Google the name Oliver Lewis, he rode the first Kentucky Derby horse champion.
Rebecca Walton and the first Kentucky Derby champion was trained by African American horse trainer.
I'm not trying to be racist...I'm definitely not racist I have bffs that are black...but black ppl aren't country in sorry they just aren't 😕I'm not trying to be racist
Yes these beautiful woman n girls go hard.❤Hollar Clinton MS, 💎 ♊ woman. I ride as well. BEAUTIFUL WORK .🏇
I am a black Equestrian and this makes my day
Like to meet u
I am a white equestrian. Want to thumb wrestle to see who is more interested in announcing their race before their profession? What if I was a physicist working for NASA? Would my race really matter? Sigh. I probably only succeeded in offending you. Just imagine how much more impressed people would be if you announced yourself as an equestrian and let them figure out for themselves that you are black.
@@daleburnfart6845 Not offense taken. Here's food for thought; imagine if you were aware of your privilege. Imagine existing in a society that rarely depicts you in a positive manner. Unsophisticated, uneducated, slaves. To make a long story short, it is extremely validating to discover people of your ilk are equally competant at things you value.
I'm about as White as you can get, and spent the best years of my life on the Hurricane Deck of a Tin Can Chaser (Way Back in the 1960s when Boys Competed too) Then I spent several years training Barrel Horses, Before Uncle Sam and Vietnam got in the way.
It ain't about the "Color"of the Horse Or The Lady Doing The Riding. It's about Getting The Job Done and Doing It Quicker than everybody else, And These Ladies Are Gettin It Done.
Now in my 70s I just sit, watch and Enjoy.
Nothing Is More Beautiful To Me Than A Lady and her Horse Turning Barrels, Going Full Out, and "Leaving It All In The Arena, Every Time".
My Compliments Ladies
Just remember, There is no spot for Color On The Time Clock, Just The Time Of Your Run & even if you're riding a $30 Horse, if that horse Finishes First, You Are Definitely A Winner.
Can't afford a Spendy Horse? Get Good At What you do and folks will be looking you up to ride their High Dollar Horses.
Any Rich Person can buy a Spendy Barrel Horse, But Only Real "Tin Can Chasers" Can Ride Them The Way they're Supposed To Be Ridden & Rich Folks Love To See Their Horses WIN Too.
There's No Shame In Losing, But Shame Only If You're Not Doing Your Dead Level Best & taking The Defeats as well as you take the Wins. After All, A Winner Is Just A Loser Who Keeps Showing Up And Giving It All They Got
Best Of Luck Ladies....Ride Hard, Turn Quick, And Hurry Up Every Chance You Get
i,m so happy to see other riding horses because i,m one of them i do both western and English it really made my day to see some one else do it
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Enjoyed this!! I’d never seen black girls ride!!! Wow!! First time!
Wow such awesome riding. .I have loved horses especially when I was younger...I always wanted to participate in barrel racing but i live in Los Angeles
This is crazy good, make sure ya''ll record more of these and start creating channels. Id watch more of this!
This made me smile 😊❤
I'm in Los Angeles, CA. I love this.
I love it! ❤️
Way to go ladies. Love this. Hope to see more racial equality in rodeo in the very near future!!
Can you give me an example of racial inequality in Rodeo? Um because that is not the same as being under represented. Your comment is the equivalent of me cheering on white basketball and football players in the NFL because there are not as many of them as there are black players.
They're absolutely amazing!!!
Princess Stardust Eclipse totally agree
I love this! I wanna go to a rodeo one day and learn to ride! They inspired me!
Me too!
Love this!! Just starting my equestrian journey and would love to compete one day.
i need these wonderful riders at my stables maby i could pick up a thing or two
This ole geezer girl's heart is THRILLED by this. Love it!!!!
BEAUTIFUL, SEXY, SKILLED. BLACK COWGIRLS❤🖤💚🥰
These Cowgirls Are Some Lit Girls
Emo Equestrian Agree!
shareefs and the song made them sound even more lit
I also agree with that as well 😁
shareefs it’s just rare to see (sorry if this sounds racist I’m not trying) black cowgirls
No it does not sound racist at all. That was my first time being to a rodeo and I was in complete all because that was the first time I seen black cowgirls. And what I loved about it they came to compete, they didn't come there just to look good in front of everybody. So they were serious about what they were doing. I love Cowgirls! 😁
They drifting tf out they horse🤣🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽i love to see it
Awesomeness 👍🏾
Woohooo! Get it! They did amazing! Sadly I dont font have any that ride where I do. Lots of people like to color reference things but we are all humans and deserve a good life! God Bless Everybody💕
-Laura Kay (A 12 year old pro sponsored rider barrel racer,White)
Laura Kay. Amen
Beautiful n awesome 🥰😍💞👌👍👏🙏🤝💚
I totally agree
We were the original Cowboys and Cowgirls before everything was white washed!
This is why we prefer country life over bougie life 💕👑💖 horseback riding is a different kind of freedom
Sports bras are a must lol 🤣
Keep Riding, we'll keep watching
Yuuussss!!! I love seeing other black riders!
Like to meet u
Thank you for making this video I have 2 little girls and this video helps me show them how magnanimous black women are in all shapes sizes and colors thank you
i barrel race and i'm white but like this video is so perfect the music it just hows how badass these ladies are!
I love this vid i feel like it shows no matter what race you are you can still do whatever you want
Thank you! That is the message I definitely was trying to convey.
I love this it reminds me of the rodeo in Oklahoma and I love the song you choose
Haven Burrell Thank you
Nice.
MORE PLEASE...
RukiaBlack Blazer yes ma'am
Wow this is amazing
Venusschamp Champvenuss U totally agree 😁
WOW!!!! Go Ladies!!!
i love the first one though
Salute
This is cool for myself I ride western and watch a lot of barrel racing but I’ve never seen blacks race but I like how they handle!
Awesome!!!!
Alexis I will just respond to your question this way. I did not make the name up. The ones you see riding along with the men who you do not see in this video call themselves the "Professional Black Cowboys and Cowgirls Association" So they named themselves Black Cowgirls.
Obviously, Alexis cares about race since they're apparently bothered by the fact that these people are black AND call themselves black cowboys and cowgirls...
You are very welcome
Amazing!!!
Awesomeness!
Damn that was good riding
I totally agree
I loveee this sh******t
Yes Go Hard!!!😀
Wheewwwwwwwww exciting!!!!!!
Okay, i barrel race, and i never use whips, or spurs, i barely ever even kick my horse, i used a whip once to see if it made him faster, it didnt, he runs just as fast without a whip, all whips do is hurt your horse, and i know people are gunna hate and be like "oh but horses or bigger so ot doesnt hurt as bad as you think," " horses have thick skin" that is NOT true, horses dont have that thick of skin, and horses have more nerves than we do so it HURTS MORE!! stop using whips, spurs, crops, etc, its not worth it
shut up
Awesome and proud i am!
Yeees!!! 👏👏👏👏
♥️🐴 ♥️ Sho nuf cowgirls🙌👏👏👏🙌
This is awesome
All you riders Rock love you girls💪👏🎉
I just love it ride cowgirl ride !!!
Yo this video is NICE!!
This is AWESOME!!
Dominique Mosley Totally agree
I think this is a good example/role model for young black girls to see. My daughters have been taking equestrian lessons for over 10 years. They love it. They dressed as black cowgirls for Halloween one time. The next year, they dressed as black equestrians. They won plenty admirations. And much candy! My family has much respect for black cowgirls and black equestrians..
@@dominiquemosley1703 Yes indeed! I totally agree and you all are awesome
Hey thanks bro. I really do appreciate that. Just to let you know I love the good work you are doing as well. I was wondering that short film titled "TSU riots 1967" Did you complete it? I love those types of films. I see you are trying to promote us in a positive light as well. I decided to put that up about the black cowgirls because not to many of us see that type of stuff. For somebody like me that comes from the north that was something to see how those ladies had command of those horses.
I liked the last two. Their horses were fast.
A. Ok. Great job.
They did amazing just like everyone else
Ooowwwiii 🔥🔥💯🔥💯🔥🔥💯
You did Amazing im so.proid of you i know rhat wasnhard i was outside too
Hell yeah!
I’m living in Arizona and I honestly wish there were more black people getting into riding I’m the only black person in every stable I’ve been to and it kinda of makes me feel like I’m not wanted there
i know I'm late but seeing this makes me think about Nene Leake's ignorant comment from a few years back that that black people don't ride horses.
Lol yeah she is either ignorant/dumb both of which is her choice, our Ancestors originated it in the first place so yeah we can and do ride horses like its nobody's business, its our heritage. #Indigenous
@hiddenfallsmystic so...by #Indigenous you mean Native American???
Cool..
Ok thanks..and yes I do plan to enter it into a film festival..and yes I definitely keep you in mind for assistance.
YEESSSSS
Yea I never seen that before..was this in Houston? And Thanks...and no the project is not done yet..I have interviewed a couple of people who went through the Riot at my school back in 67 and they told me that I should do it as a documentary first..I agree and I am working on that now for my master project class.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
It was at the convention center in Humble so I guess you can say it was in Houston. Well I think that "Riot 67" will be a great project when it is finished. Those are definitely the type of projects I like. Have you considered after doing it for your master class enter it into a film festival. I think films like that will do very well. Those are the type of projects I wouldn't mind being a part of. If you need any help I would be happy to assist you in a project like that.
Ride it like you stole it ❤
Who changed the music and why???!!
You should not be biting them they also have feelings . You can train them to go fast
That's whats up 👧🏽🐴
Such beautiful women.....
I have the biggest azz grin! Loving it! Do it ladies!
Why dont they make this one viral instead of that awful video with the guy ripping the horses tongue off? These girls are better riders than some white professionals. They arent jackhammering their horses spines like certain barrel racers do. This should have more views.
I really wanna see a African American female at the American
Yes ma'am
U go girl
