UK fans will love this guy if he plays all 4 years and especially ends up contributing well in games. Uk fans will cheer a little louder cause hes from kentucky every time he scores
Noah an Perry will play harder than any probably, because they will play with heart being from that state of Kentucky, it makes it just mean more to players that are from here an gets to play here.
I graduated from Harlan county highschool as a member of the first graduating class in 09 and as someone who moved away from Harlan county and hasn't stayed in touch with news from back home this was a pleasant surprise i would like to say congratulations to the Harlan county black bears and to Mr Noah and Go big blue sincerely JPJ
Another game I'm excited for this upcoming basketball season, Louisville Vs. Kentucky. Two new head coaches going head to head for the first time since the beginning of the rivalry (Hall vs Crum)
Boogie fland is the walmart brand Rob Dillingham. Johnell Davis is no where near what Antonio Reeves was last year. The difference is truly Adou Thiero, that's why I wanted him to go literally anywhere else. But in great Calipari fashion, 0 urgency to guard high ball screens will be their downfall. The players were never the issue, we had the best every year...
The best edition to ARK is Kenny Pain. Love UK being underestimated, less pressure and shorter ceiling. If Pope just coaches the system, he had BYU with far better players. There is no way we are not competitive.
So, if the college basketball conference schedule is 90-95% the same UK loses at least 4 games. The non conference college schedule is too early to predict. Based on the current roster as is we should expect 4-8 losses in Coach Mark Pope's year one. Have to wait and see who UK picks up player wise between now and October. It could be a special first season, barring injuries and not adding any other players.
I've watched a lot of videos on this guy the last two days and am super impressed. Just an incredibly beautiful jumper form-wise and percentage-wise. Physically great size at 6'6" 210. The dude has tree trunks for thighs. When he was a younger player he was more of a passing point guard who got huge and is now more of a small forward. UK needs to develop him some. He went to a little poe-dunk county high school, not a fancy basketball academy or private school. Get him in leaner and faster, quicker doing all those goofy drills with the tennis balls to speed up the reflexes and hand/eye coordination. Probably won't crack the rotation next year, but will definitely be a solid role-player in 2026 and could even see him being a star as an upperclassman.
If we don’t end up getting Chaz or Robinson (God I hope that’s not the case) the possibility of Trent switching between the 2 and 3 will drastically increase as you said. Collin could then sit behind brea and learn some game from him and same with Trent sitting behind Otega. Trent doesn’t need to necessarily need to learn how to shoot like Otega, but if he can learn how to be quick and attack the basketball more effectively and increase his defense,I think we can develop these 3 freshman into amazing players in the coming years. Great video as always lance!
Lance - what do you think about this new philosophy: Cal on pod cast: Calipari told former Oregon State head coach Craig Robinson on Wednesday's episode of their podcast “Ways to Win” that he plans to only keep "eight or nine guys" with the Razorbacks to start the 2024-25 season. "They're leaving anyway, and why would I develop a kid for someone else? Why would I do that?" Calipari said. Calipari added that he wasn't the only college coach taking on the philosophy as transfer portal numbers swell. "I'm hearing a lot of guys are saying they are only going to have a roster of eight or nine guys," Calipari said.
Cal is a good guy, a great salesman, an excellent recruiter but a mediocre coach. His X’s and O’s skills are outdated and he is too set in his ways. Mark Pope is an analytical genius and a great coach. He’s a superior coach to Cal. Mark Pope is going to be a two time legend at UK when he retires from coaching.
Lance, enjoy the comments. I am wondering if Pope dived into all the reasons BYU lost in the first round and how UCONN, NCSTATE etc advanced in the final 4? Is this UK roster built on the holes that were missed on the BYU team? Can this squad reach the final 8 or beyond? Go CATS
@@brtw51exactly. Cal only relied on talent to feed his offense, dude was incapable of running an actual offense or making any sort of adjustments. May be the best recruiter ever but when it comes to X’s and O’s he’s clueless
@@derekmiles9069 That's correct.. part of the problem is his main concern is managing everyone's minutes so that his players don't get their feelings hurt. Been a UK fan since 1984 and I never could understand what was going on while watching almost every Cal team. I like Cal as a person and do think his players love him and look at him as a father figure etc which Cal enjoys being.. but as far as doing what's best in any given game situation this always played second fiddle to letting his players "do their own thing" and "be who they want to be" he actually tells them this when recruiting them.
Calipari...lets just say it. Good recruiter, good self-promoter, doesn't care about the SEC tourney, doesn't care about March. He is just NOT a good x/o guy. Not a good tactician and its showed more than once. Wisconsin anyone? West Virginia?
Wisconsin !! That game killed me I had money on it an we should not have lost it, but it for sure was on our coach I have to say, an if Anthony Davis had not got that block in the championship game we may not have won that title, we got it because of how good those players was not how good his x,o game coaching was .
I was gonna wish Arkansas fans well, but they have become insufferable bunch. The same ones who dogged us last 6 years now claim cal is great coach. They wanna dog coach pope. When they lose 12 games and go home early, i will be laughing at them.

I don't think we get Lanier or Robinson, unfortunately
I agree that Lamont Butler will probably start
After 15 yrs with cal the average chance of winning the SEC tournament and the season championship were both 25%
Do you think the “dribble drive” will actually hurt Arkansas as it did when Cal was at UK?
All the dribble drive is is lazy coaching.. just let players do their thing without setting picks or memorizing other players movements.
@@brtw51exactly. Cal only relied on talent to feed his offense, dude was incapable of running an actual offense or making any sort of adjustments. May be the best recruiter ever but when it comes to X’s and O’s he’s clueless
