Thanks to Kuat Racks (bit.ly/KuatNVRack) for the awesome new addition to the van, and to all my patrons (www.patreon.com/singletracksampler) that help make this channel possible every day, every video ! My bike storage is one of the most important pieces of the van build, and now I feel like it is DIALED - I couldn't be more stoked. Now on to getting it organized with all my ride gear..
Alex has been spending the night in his van while parked in my driveway, sometimes spending the day editing from the van as well. This is a sign of things to come!
Hey singletracksampler, I just want to say thanks for making these great videos! I started mountain biking because if you and now I'm riding black diamonds on the daily! You have really inpired me to have a different look on life and I just want to say thanks. And ride on!
Did a heap of Mountain biking in the late 90's, got back into it watching You and Seth with my son. The kid like enthusiasm you ooze keep us going too! Thanks so much, keep it up!!! Adam & Riley. Australia.
Mr. Sampler! I love your energetic laughs you've captured on the trail. That alone makes me want to ride tonight. Nice rack, and keep up the good work on the van!
I just caught up on all of your vids. It took me two weeks, lol. Then, then I went down a rabbit hole of cycling vids. Thanks!! Dude, you travel more than a penny from 1952.
So your videos are what inspired me to ride MTB. I was a trail runner with a shit knee and mountain biking was the best solution. I’m on a cheap bike for now. I’d love to ride with you one day when I’m on a good bike. LFRHGS brother!
that hitch rack is an awesome option. not only to shuttle friends, but sometimes the bike is just too dirty to put inside. it also makes the van look even cooler!
Yep, and perfect for when you can't be bothered taking the front wheel off (small thing, but it used to drive me insane at the end of a long ride to have to take the wheel off, put it inside the car, and then lift a 15kg enduro bike up on top of my ute).
So love watching you ride. the enthusiasm you have on the trails is very contagious. Can not wait for the weather to get better here so I can get out on the trails.
Amazing. This van life literally is one of the best out there. Your videos are such an inspiration me and for others to go out and riding, also enjoy the stoked of outdoors at the same time. Live Free, Ride Hard and Get Stoked!
I found your channel by my interest in living out vehicles. This is the first video I saw you going down-hill biking and its fun to watch because it shows very well that you're definitely doing something you really love. It's cool to see that and a lot of people, including myself, don't chase what they love to do out of fear of it not being the best financial option. --- Love the inspiration man... Keep it real
i have a Kuat Transfer rack and it's flipping the best! Sooooo easy to deal with whether it's loading the bikes or set up. Plus, I called them about an issue I had and they just sent me out replacement parts. No questions asked. I always recommend my rack to others when we're out and about.
You should try putting one of those wall mountable bike stands on the inside of your back door so you can work on your bike wherever. Love how the van build is coming along!
I loved everything about this video. I got to see the van put to use, the perfect rack for it (and best executed promo vid, as the company is so rad), a sick group of riders coming together for the passion of riding, some epic trails, topped off with pizza and beer. This is the mtb lifestyle I love compiled into one easy and fun to watch vid full of stoke. Much thanks for this great material dude! Big fan.
13's the lucky number ! Awesome vid. I'm copying that bed in my 97 Chevy Box Van,by the way, but it will be a queen with straight sides . Also the bike slider racks are such a great idea.
I have the Pivot and a 4 Bike NV. It is great setup and I get tons of questions at the trailhead about the swing arm as it is relatively new to the market. Makes the rack so much easier to navigate and allows you to actually get in the back of your vehicle!
I just found your channel today. What an awesome channel. Dude it is fun watching you ride the trails on your bike. Keep up all the great content! Now time for me to do some binge watching!
The Kuat NV is overall a great rack. My riding buddy has one on his van. If I ever need to upgrade from my cheap rack (I have a pickup so don't really need a rack at all) it will be an NV!!!
Yo that was fun to watch. Lol..I should be sleeping but I was no joke stoked and it got me hyped lol. I saw the van build first and then the trail ride from greatness! Nothing but love.
Your whip is really coming along. It's been awesome watchin' the build. You guys ride really fast. Scares me sitting here. I can't wait for my butt to unpucker after watchin' this...
Hey Alex! I am really happy for you! It is great to see things coming together for you. I have been following you on and off for a couple of years now, thru all your mishaps and over comings and to me your enthusiasm and hanging in there is your real appeal, and you are obviously a cool dude which makes a big difference too. I just wanted to let you know if you didn't already that that Kuat has an 2 bike add on. It attaches to the end of the existing NV 2.0 rack to increase the carrying capacity to 4 bikes!! Also, you didn't mention it but Kuat would probably like you to showcase the fact that it comes with a field expedient bike stand too for performing your van/field based maintenance and repairs! That really is a cool feature along with the locking/securing capabilities that obviously add tons of value to the rack. Basically I think that you have the best rack in the business, and I have shopped all brands of racks. It is pricey though I know that with the pivot swing arm, the basic 2 bike rack and then the 2 bike add-on rack it is pushing $1,300, but if you really shop around maybe as low as $1,150, but that's not adding on the tax either!! But, It is a super awesome rack and with 4 bikes on your rack and 6 in your garage that's a monster Mtb partying 10 BIKES!!!!!!!!!!! That would basically make you and your van the "Multi-Mtb Carrying Master of the Universe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" That isn't even considering the fact that you could still install some considerable roof racking and carry several more bikes, on top of that. Stay stoked, Jack!
I have the same Kuat NV2.0. They are a bit on the pricey side, but incredibly well built and their customer service is top notch. Sometimes you get what you pay for. BTW if you want to carry two more bikes, they make an extension for your rack, accommodating 4 bikes total.
Dude, with the blue lights on it looked like a seedy nightclub haha - need to get some strobes going! Seriously though congrats on the van, it's looking awesome and I'm certain you're gonna have great times in it for years to come. Keep it up man.
You, Seth, and Brian own three of the most preferred hitch racks available. It would be cool to see a comparison video and opinions from all three of you.
I saw a guy during American Ninja Warrior this week wearing one of your shirts. He was on the sidelines cheering on a friend or relative who was competing on the show.
Hey! If recently started following you channel because if the van build and it's a plus you ride stupid quick on gnarly trails! I watch your riding vids while I'm on the bike in the gym, makes me cycle faster and longer haha cheers fella!
Yo what's up dude, welcome to the channel!! Love to hear that you are watching while being active, that's an awesome combo. Stay stoked and keep pedaling!!
Three things I would like to ask/suggest: 1. Need a review of that Kuat. I've been looking for an upgrade to my bike rack and that Kuat looks nice. 2. You need a mud-proof bed cover. For those times when you need to shuttle people during wet and muddy days. 3. What's the real world fuel consumption on the van so far? I've been thinking about buying a van as well. Thanks!
Sweet sweet garage set up. I picked up a Yakima Backswing that does the same as the Kurt, works awesome on my van. PS thanks for using Parks Tools those guys are the Best!
Im think a solid 15 people could get into it but crammed maybe 10 or 11 for still being comfortable love your stuff by the way man keep it up!!! and you should come up to BC and i might ride with you!
This sent my anxiety through the roof lol. It's all good tho. I don't usually watch videos like this but I'm tryna expand the amount of things that I watch so I subscribed. Great video by the way. Hey singletracksampler, I just want to say thanks for making these great videos! I started mountain biking because if you and now I'm riding black diamonds on the daily! You have really inpired me to have a different look on life and I just want to say thanks. And ride on!

I've progressed more now I even hit some double black diamonds at cuyuna lakes!

I would just like to say mate, the van is unreal!!!! Life goals right there. Your living the dream Alex . 👍
Yo thank you dude!! I am 100% living my dream, and so damn grateful to be able to say that!!!
I just caught up on all of your vids. It took me two weeks, lol. Then, then I went down a rabbit hole of cycling vids. Thanks!! Dude, you travel more than a penny from 1952.

Alex this is the mountain bikers dream come true man, really stoked for you. The future of this channel will be even more awesome now \m/
Slick-track Shuttler. You were having a blast on another blind ride. Good times.
that hitch rack is an awesome option. not only to shuttle friends, but sometimes the bike is just too dirty to put inside. it also makes the van look even cooler!
Yes! I actually just did that yesterday after riding all day in the mud, and it was SO NICE to be able to leave it outside until after cleaning
Yep, and perfect for when you can't be bothered taking the front wheel off (small thing, but it used to drive me insane at the end of a long ride to have to take the wheel off, put it inside the car, and then lift a 15kg enduro bike up on top of my ute).
Don't think I've watched you ride like that before, and it's awesome.. 110% the whole way.
So love watching you ride. the enthusiasm you have on the trails is very contagious. Can not wait for the weather to get better here so I can get out on the trails.
Thanks to you and BKXC I have lost a stone in 3 weeks by riding my bike on my local trail in the UK
SpudRaider, there so good and inspirational 🙂🙂
👌
A stone?
You're friends look like really nice people, and solid riders too. I like that you often include others in your videos. Cheers kid!
I saw some dude wearing you merch on American ninja warrior!

After looking at all the major brands the Kuat was a no brainer. great build quality!
yea that build quality is really the thing that sets them apart imo
Alex, you are such a freaking goof ball 😀 big thumbs up for sharing the wealth and getting that shuttle bus going
You should try putting one of those wall mountable bike stands on the inside of your back door so you can work on your bike wherever. Love how the van build is coming along!
Garret Hitmar the Kuat rack has a built in TrailDoc workstand. Pivot the empty rack out 90 degrees, flip the rack vertical and good to go
I loved everything about this video. I got to see the van put to use, the perfect rack for it (and best executed promo vid, as the company is so rad), a sick group of riders coming together for the passion of riding, some epic trails, topped off with pizza and beer. 13's the lucky number ! Awesome vid. I'm copying that bed in my 97 Chevy Box Van,by the way,

That was the best ride ever! Thanks for the ride !
Alex: you are the voice in my head when I ride. Great vid...love those Kuat racks!! Sweeeet!
Just noticed the fingertip pullup/practice board over the sliding door. SICK! Killer riding, man.
That is an awesome system. Well done! Trail looked really fun too.
Loved seeing this van grow into what it is today, as well as your channel. Come to Connecticut for some crazy enduro riding!
I have the same bike rack. Totally worth it as the tension device keeps it from rattling in the bumper hitch.
Love the Kuate racks! You can easily put a add on to yours and they have another attachment that has a mechanic stand on the end of the rack.
The Kuat NV is overall a great rack. My riding buddy has one on his van. If I ever need to upgrade from my cheap rack (I have a pickup so don't really need a rack at all) it will be an NV!!!
Holy shit he's gotten so much better this past year. I mean he's doing manuals now!

Yo that was fun to watch. Lol..I should be sleeping but I was no joke stoked and it got me hyped lol. I saw the van build first and then the trail ride from greatness! Nothing but love.
I like the 1/2 riding 1/2 van life video, I think it's a really good fit for your channel at the moment.
Yo thanks dude!! I think it's a nice combo too :D
Your whip is really coming along. It's been awesome watchin' the build. You guys ride really fast. Scares me sitting here. I can't wait for my butt to unpucker after watchin' this...

The van is lookin Proper with all the bikes loaded! Kuat makes a great rack... super sturdy. I use one on my Jeep :D
Awesome run and video. It finally came to me who you sound like. ..Bobcat Goldthwait.
Mint ass trail and super sick set up for taking more bikes along
You, Seth, and Brian own three of the most preferred hitch racks available. It would be cool to see a comparison video and opinions from all three of you.
You got a smile out of me on the down hill.
In this video you embody pure bliss (Stoke). Good for you.

Sick set up man, all you need is running water, no wait you use the creeks .. lol. Kudos on the build.
This is the first time I've seen you mountainbike (only watched the van videos so far) and holy shit you're flying!!!!
looks like the rack my friend has. top notch quality. and if it’s not the same it’s still an awesome rack!
Big Ivy is seriously good. There is some "local only hush hush" out there too.
I love you and Seth’s videos keep doing what you are doing
The van is looking sick! Nice job!
I saw a guy during American Ninja Warrior this week wearing one of your shirts. He was on the sidelines cheering on a friend or relative who was competing on the show.
You should ride Durango, CO. It has so many great trails all over, with a bunch of crazy rides like hogsback, it’s a must do!
Nice! I love my pivot! Run it with a 1 up rack and it is the bomb
Your a real peoples person, never judging anyone.
The Singletrack Sampler wheeeeeey! You replied! Sick bro keep it real with the fans! If your even in the UK hit me up bro! Keep shreading the gnar!
Three things I would like to ask/suggest:
1. Need a review of that Kuat. I've been looking for an upgrade to my bike rack and that Kuat looks nice.
2. You need a mud-proof bed cover. For those times when you need to shuttle people during wet and muddy days.

i dont bike, at all, but i love these adventurous videos man, keep it up, got my sub
The views and likes are getting higher there, super nice Alex
Kuat rack is nice, you will enjoy it. I especially like the tensioner wheel that keeps it from squeaking around in the hitch receptacle.
that is a pretty sweet little feature
I totally went to lowes and scored some of those bins. Great find!!
Love your set up! Making me want the van life so much more!
Man I can't even see the line.. and Alex u were soo fast!!👌👌👌👌
That trail is SO much fun, not a lot of people know about it since it's so hard to find!
Sweet sweet garage set up. I picked up a Yakima Backswing that does the same as the Kurt, works awesome on my van. PS thanks for using Parks Tools those guys are the Best!
Dude! Sweet ride. Like how pumped you get going down the trail. LOL
That van is amazing!!!!!
sickest set up dude, seriously inspiring
Always stoked to watch your vids
Nice van-upgrade! good stuff
You should take a tour of upper Michigan. There are trails everywhere. Places to go are ishpeming, Marquette, and copper harbor.
Im think a solid 15 people could get into it but crammed maybe 10 or 11 for still being comfortable love your stuff by the way man keep it up!!! and you should come up to BC and i might ride with you!
Good stuff! Van looks ready to rock!
Love the van setup! I have the same lockset on my Kuat hitch rack. Put a little oil in them every few weeks. They tend to freeze up.
Noted, thanks dude!
DEYM!!! now my #vanlife perspective has changed for the good.. so stoked for your upcoming vids TSS
Dude I can't wait to get on the road with this beast!!
I just love to watch how positive you are! Your happiness make me happy :D
Mission: Spread the stoke
Status: Accomplished
:D
Jesus that looks mad fun. Nice video I enjoyed that 300%👌
Awesome! The vans looking sick!
This sent my anxiety through the roof lol. It's all good tho. I don't usually watch videos like this but I'm tryna expand the amount of things that I watch so I subscribed. Great video by the way. I found out about your channel when I was watching the initial van build on someone else's channel, I don't recall the name. I've been watching a disgusting amount of van renovation videos lol, but that's because I've been tryna figure out what I wanna do as far as a vehicle for traveling to concerts and gatherings and things like that, and I'm also tryna get my own music started and I'll wanna be able to travel to my own shows when the time comes, but I won't need a whole lot of room just for myself.
Awesome great run and time capsule guys 👍🏾
Good to see Kuat getting play. Their product is light years ahead of all other racks
Stud Bar bias statement
1up USA > *
Stud Bar rocking a Yakima haven’t had any episode ever
Issue
+1 Just got myself an NV 2.0 two weeks ago. Expensive as all hell for us here in Australia, but worth every $. The wheel-mounting arm and the fold-up mechanism are so much more well-refined than any other rack I've used. I've rigged mine up with lights and a plate holder so that I can just keep it on the ute the whole time.
