- Here's my review of the Apple Vision Pro. This spatial computing headset lets you watch 3D movies, creates a work office with virtual screens and plays VR games too. I will show its supported VisionOS apps, my persona avatar, EyeSight, travel mode while driving a car and accessoires.
You'll find out how Vision Pro will be replacing your iPhone, iPad and Macbook in the future. This is only the beginning.

very cool and practical (realistic day in the life) way of testing it!
I really hope that this technology becomes available for other headsets, such as the Quest 3 for example. Things that the Vision showed like 3D photographs or videos you have taken, an immersion where you can see your own hands, making face-times, and of course being able to play games via controller in mid air without an actual TV. I have looked into the Xreal glasses and they have amazed me with what I have seen them do in reviews. Mix all of that with a standard gaming headset and it is more than ideal in my opinion. All of this is really exiting for me because its all pointing to similar things to what we see in 'Ready player one', and as you said to VR becoming more and more normal in our lives.
If you facetime with someone, you'll notice the share and share play above the windows which allow you to play together. Very excited for you, you look like you're having a ball with the new device!
Yeah! In the gaming part of the video I’m playing BattleShips with one of my friends.
@@nathie ok
By far the best AVP review. Covered everything, best screenrecording, not biased. Thanks for flying to USA Nathie.
Pretty detail review. Nice.
I bought two of these (one for me and my wife). The more I use it the more I love it. The 1.1 beta fixes a lot of the bugs and issues in 1.0 and has been really stable. I’ve noticed quite a bit of class envy regarding AVP price but it isn’t meant for everyone and if price is an issue then you are not the target market.
I’m saving up for one.
Great video Nathie,
Was waiting for your input!
A very informative, well put together review Nathie. Great Video.
Thanks so much!
I only watched 4 minutes and am impressed by how good your script is and the quality of the capture! Its Apple like!
🔥🔥I wish i could afford those ... they would be life changing ... Great Video Bub🔥🔥
The ID of having two chips, one for all the sensors and a PC version for the system is exactly what was needed to be done. but it is not within everyone's reach to make their own chip design. maybe VALVE with an AMD partnership (since they have first experience with their portable console)
Thank you.
I enjoyed your review! The tech is awesome and if I were already invested in the Apple ios it might appeal to me more. I will continue enjoying my Quest 3 for now but I look forward to upgrades in hopefully the near future by Meta or whoever.
Same! Quest and AVP are both great devices. Looking forward seeing how they improve each other in the upcoming months.
Nathie, great job. I always prefer you to take your time and do the proper review, than rush things like some of the other reviewers. I really hope Quest 3 comes in new variant with OLED panels, that would be awesome. I really like the look of Vision PRO and I would buy it just for watching the movies though.
Nice review. I'm not sure what you were thinking about at 7:35, but the Zeiss lenses do not cost $800. The most you will pay for them is $150.
It may sound like I’m saying 800 but I actually said “a 100 bucks”
@@nathie Ah, I had to listen a couple more times... You say a (as in long a) 100 bucks. Sorry for the confusion..
Thank you for sharing your experience to viewers that can't afford this headset!
Nice breakdown, you’re a good model for the avp because your features match the look of the device, meaning, you look cool wearing them. Also, as far as I know, AirPods Max don’t support lossless in any form
Thanks! Have you seen anyone who didn’t look cool wearing it?
@@nathie on some people it looks giant haha, the eyesight glow is cool on everyone though
Gaming and setup room tour please and tips please
watched you long time ago, forgot your name - searched "vr game reviewer" - and here you here
How tf is this Already possible
Since it uses an oled display so how is burn in and brightness ?
Sooooo mines is super blurry is that normal? Also is it not supposed to be able to connect to your iphone?
Can you play battle glide again it got better updates There’s so much new things to explore.
Seems like a really solid first generation product. I remember the first iPhone and the first iPad. Devices that were quite limited in functionality but were good enough at showcasing a different way of interacting with technology. To me AVP seems like such a device. It's not meant to compete with existing products, it's meant to launch "spatial computing". Before launching a new category of devices, Apple spends years trying to get it right, trying to make a product they think the users will fall in love with. They learn from existing products but don't let them define what their new product is. This is a great thing about Apple, I know Apple also has shitty sides but they do really care about creating something great. Then when they launch the product it is so different that it creates its own category that Apple usually owns for quite some time. I think that in the future people will look back at the AVP as the device that started a rapid shift in society to spatial computing, just like the iPhone and iPad did for touch. The integration of spatial computing with the massive advances happening in AI will be really interesting.
I saw that Bible App, okokok!!! 😄😄
Not enough cons about limited it is with apps and games
I am ready to order mine as truly a step forward in how we work and have. You presentation is great since explore and explain. I have been an early adopter of iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, etc and always been first the investment is worth and regarded professionally and personally. You missed Apple Books that other reviewers show. Thank you
I watched DUNE last night while sitting on the edge of a cliff overlooking a beautiful cloudy landscape below, at night ... DUNE was on a screen in front of me the size of a movie theatre and the picture quality was PERFECT. Literally just like watching it on a 4K Monitor in front of you. This headset is insane.
People really need to request a demo to understand how good entertainment on AVP is. 3D films are so good with spatial audio.
I really can’t wait to experience movies in one of these someday
Now it's the best headset because you can run VRChat on it
it would be great if you could save your app layout set up.. so you can bring it back up later without having to manually reset all the apps the way you had them. It would be great to have different app layouts that you can save and bring back up.. such as one for work and one for games or social or perhaps one for school or research etc...
I would also like to see them integrate an iPhone to be used like a game controller with the haptics of the phone and virtual joystick and buttons on the touch screen on the iPhone.
Also, I would like Apple to tweak the AVP OS so that people could mirror the screen in stereoscopic mode.. so people could post the stereoscopic videos to youtube. And then people ccould watch them in stereoscopic mode
I like your idea of iPhone becoming an interactive device or maybe even using your Watch to control stuff.
I just got done demoing one at the apple store. In my opinion, it is way too dark,. Even when I turned brightness up to 100%
I dreamt last of Nintendo launching its first VR headset
would have been its second
Well 3rd really! If you count virtual boy, and Nintendo Labo.
First Nintendo NES console launched the same year of the first Apple Lisa personal computer in 1983. Let's hope
Hey Nathie, what is the app @ 18:53 with the woman singing and the hand meshes transition?
AmazeVR
What is VR like with Vision Pro
Garbage. No controllers, and the hand tracking has serious latency.
The lack of a "follow me" mode to lock windows relative to the headset when moving, and to recall that locked position, seems like a major omission for practical AR.
LOL So you mean that if people stick their notes with groceries on the fridge, the only way to check them is to physically get over there? That's just silly 😂
Nice review.
Glad you enjoyed it. What’s the most impressive and disappointing feature you’ve seen?
Do review which is better meta3 or visionpro .
That’s going to be an interesting one
They can definately co-exist as they serve separate use cases. Immersive gaming is always going to be better on the Quest platform though, stuff like shooting with guns and putting in walkabout mini golf can't be done in the AVP. You need that physical contact in your hand with the haptic feedback.
Gaming - Quest
Everything else - Vision Pro
If you want to play VR games, def the Quest is far better. Hardware controllers are needed for the best VR Gaming experience. For other Content the Vision Pro will do good. If you want to pay the extra cash for it. The Quest 3 can also play media just fine and added support to playback spatial video also in their latest firmware update. My recommendation for new users that wanna experience it all, buy the Quest 3,its allot more price friendly and will do everything good enough especially for its price.
The Quest 3 can do just about everything yhe AVP can do. However, the AvP can't do everything the Quest 3 can do.
Eh. Still Not a quest killer though. We're almost to the future.... maybe when we get to nano.
I think I could only justify this cost if I could work in it for 7-8 hours a day and I would be really excited to do that but from a comfort point of view is that even possible?
I believe you can get a secondary strap that goes over the top of your head which makes it a bit more comfy, people have spent over 10 hours straight wearing this with next to no problems
No, not with this current model. It is uncomfortable and very front heavy on your face.
Passthrough AR isn’t “emulated AR” because its really just *better* AR
The definition of AR Augemented Reality is overlaying digital objects onto real life environments. The Hololens would be the closest example of this technology. AR using passthrough replaces the real life environment you see with your own eyes with cameras which instead serve the outside world and then feed that back through the optical stack along with the computer vision. Therefore It's fair to say this is an emulation of how AR is supposed to work but it's only a temporary solution until true AR matures enough to not require cameras.
@@dtrjones That, pardon my french, is stupid, and anal retentive, to pretend the cameras are not showing you the real world. They are and nothing puts it outside the definition because that is what you start with before any augmentations. It would be understandable to consider the differernce if passthrough-AR devices like the Vision Pro and the Lynx-R1 had any perceptible levels of latency, but they don't. Its entirely imperceptible and therefore irrelevant. Also, in case you've forgotten the last 16 years, 99.999999% of all instances of people using AR has been camera+computer based in the form of people doing AR with their smart phones. Thats where AR has lived for the vastest amount of applications, and no one argued "thats not AR, its mislabeled!"
Sorry for being long winded, but only people in the HMD space ever make your argument and its horribly annoying. The Hololens is a failed over complicated and too limited method for AR, which, by the way, still used cameras.
I was expecting a more critical review from someone with this much VR experience. Of course the displays and cameras are the best of every headset out there, the thing costs $3500. But what if they want to make a non-Pro for, let's say $1000? Then they can't use the very expensive displays and the passthrough quality will get closer to Quest 3 level. And no controllers means no games (at least not as we know them on other devices). The only positive thing I see here is that developers of other headsets will be pushed to compete with features. Let's just hope they're not gonna use Apple's pricing policies...
sounds less like u want a critical review and more of a "repeat to me my already formed opinion"
It is also a review of this device, not future possibilities
I think you incorrectly stated that the Zeiss prescription lens were $800! They’re only $99 for readers and $149 for prescriptions.
It may sound like I’m saying 800 but I actually said “a 100 bucks”
14:05 sorry is that 2 vision pros
8:56 16:14 why does eyesight actually look good on you?
It would appear the reflective holographic displays work better with people with fair/lighter shades of skin. I know Marques Brownlee had trouble with the EyeSight feature and it's clear darker skin textures don't display as well in the headset.
Great sum up @dtrjones it also depends on the light conditions. Low light or a room with soft tones show it better.
Why does nobody talk about universal control it’s the only cool thing about the virtual Mac screen
The Apple Vision looks cool but I don’t see myself see myself getting that any time soon. It looks cool but I’m okay for now👍
That’s totally fine! I think we got some great headsets on the market that fit all needs.
I don't care what anyone says eyesight on the Apple Vision Pro looks cool!
I think the Vision Pro will be a big hit with stay at home moms. It basically a hands free smart phone or iPad.
I agree.. and I think it will also be great for hobbyists who do their hobbies with their hands.. and also people who do electronics repair. I am envisioning virtual magnifiers that can be set up that can magnify using the front face cameras.. and also that can be customized individually for higher brightness and extra contrast or other filters for that magnified view.. or perhaps something that can synch with an iPhone camera and display the phones camera view (live) in a frame that can be custom sized and placed in the AVP screen's view. And for the stay-at-home parent or even parent that is remote.. they can have the kid or baby cam live streaming in a hovering frame so they can see and interact with that live stream of their baby or child or pet or elderly parent or sick child etc.
Vision Pro, such quality visuals and processing power...that's what I want for legit VR gaming though BUT also a much wider FOV...sadly, it's not a legit VR gaming device, so there's a big opportunity lost (and Vision Pro does lack any advancement in FOV). Well, I'm still looking forward to continued evolution of VR and "spatial computing"/AR/XR devices.
For now, Quest 3 is a very legit and extremely more affordable option.
This thing could run some wild looking VR games. It has a plenty of computer power to do some magic but I agree that you want controllers for the more hardcore experiences. Not sure Apple is interested in doing this as VisionOS is completely designed for eye and hand tracking.
Seeing people outside wearing a headset has absolutely not been normalized. It still looks silly. Probably start hearing about them getting pulled off peoples heads before long.
It's funny to hear how even bad features are presented as positive ones. "The external battery fits in your pocket." :p
It's good to hear some honest parts too, like "the headset is heavy on the head cause there's no counterweight" or "i found myself dragging the headset because i forgot it was attached to the battery" (what happens if it's dropped to a hard ground? Does the guarantee cover that?)
Also it's nice to hear it synchronises with the iphone or ipad, but what if you have an android system like samsung?
Most of all, many of the thing i've seen in this video are also available on the Quest 3 (like the virtual concerts and watching movies). Where are the killer apps for this vision?
The FEATURE is the fact the the cpu /GPU this powerful can be ran in this form factor AT ALL with decent battery Life. You're complaining about the battery completely missing that it isn't a simple cheap portable battery that's needed to push this level of processing power.
Try editing a full video or running on with screens this high resolution , without lag on a xr2 chip with a stock quest battery and see how that experience is. ( Assuming you even could).
The thing that people are complaining about just means they are ignorant of where the technology is at this point and what it actually takes to make a cohesive product that functions on this level.
You are so true. The world is so..... This level of achievement is unparalleled in tech as we know it
You are correct. There was nothing shown that can't already be done on Quest 3 for $3000 less.
Hello I am literally a human
You sure?
@@nathie no 😀
Quest 3 for me. No way this thing has $3,000.00 additional reasons to buy this thing. Hard pass. I'll stick with my Quest 3 and PSVR2. Eve. With this, thing it's still 2,000.00 more yikes.
looks like eyes are in wrong spot in thumbnail. the 'see-through' thing needs some work.
That’s pretty much how it looks irl too 😅
@@nathie I didn't mean to be rude, sorry lol, you look a lot better without the simulated passthrough
"promo sm"
I’m really against the insistence by Apple on the term “Spatial Computing” because the computing hasn’t gone “spatial”. Its really just a Spatial Interface/ Spatial UX
The term Spatial Computing is not informing the technology. It's letting the consumer know that this form of computing is designed to work in 3D spaces. I think it's pretty clever by Apple as a naming concept to differentiate it from traditional computing with a notebook or laptop.
for all intents and purposes, a spacial interface is spatial computing. doesn't matter where the computing power happens. it matters where u see it. the average consumer doesn't care where computing happens. on device, in the cloud, or wherever, it's where they interact with it that matters.
I normally don't like Apple's stupid language but think they did a good job with this one since it explains exactly what they want to achieve with this to the customer. u doing computing things in 3d spaces
It's all just AR/VR. That's it!
I finally gave in and bought the Vision Pro and I feel like the whole thing is gimmicky and this is coming from someone who has the quest to the quest three I had the quest pro but sold them and I have the PS five VR two. The coolest thing I saw in the Vision Pro was that dinosaur movie but it was four minutes long and that was it All sucked compared to the quests games. On the quest you have games I’ve Resident Evil 4 and a bunch of crazy games like that and in Apple you had games that were terrible and you could watch some movies in 3-D but the headset is not even that comfortable who is buying a $4000 headset to watch movies you could watch movies in the quest three I also found the Vision Pro only a very slight bit clearer than the quest three but not much, the quest three is a lot clearer than the quest two but the Vision Pro is maybe 5% clearer than three and with the quest three you could adjust them with the Vision Pro you put them on they adjust themselves and they are not much. I can’t see a person who isn’t getting them for free like a lot of these big UA-camr or the big UA-camr, who makes so much money from the reviews, I can’t pitch too many people really like them. I’m gonna give them another couple of days to see if I missed any time and do my own review, I love you from a regular guy who paid for the matter, his own pocket, and someone who has all the VR systems, so I know what to compare it with, hopefully I get my review out shortly and it’s not gonna be so happy go lucky like everyone else I saw so far unless if something changes in 24 hours
I’m on the fence of either the MQ3 or AVP what do you think? All my products are Apple.
When are gamers gonna realize that it isnt for you. It's not the quest line, isn't trying to be the quest line. So why are you expecting a quest line experience. There's nothing here for you. So why comment on something that's not made for you. It makes no sense at all to me. 🤦🏾♂️
That’s like a car that don’t drive. What’s the purpose of it then to watch movies and who’s gonna work with that big heavy thing on your head I had it on for two hours last night and it hurt the front of my face. It makes no sense when people gonna realize it’s a gimmick then. If that’s the case it must be for like the one percent and people comment just a comment isn’t that what UA-cam is for everyone has different opinions. Even if the Vision Pro was $500 if they’re still nothing to do with them, there’s still no point. And you have so many UA-cam reviewers who get them for free acting like it’s so incredible. I used them for two hours last night the most incredible thing was the dinosaur video that was four minutes long, not a thing else
@@PC_TV_73I honestly bought it just for watching shows and movies and to be honest I don’t even realize the discomfort a lot of times because I’m so immersed in the 3d movie I’m watching. I think it’s amazing for movies and before I knew what a Apple Vision Pro was gonna be, I too was hoping for games but when Apple didn’t show much for games I was disappointed but then I quickly changed my outlook on what I’d use it for and now I’ve been super addicted to watching movies and shows with it. But I’m someone who spends 12 hours of my 15 hour day watching nothing but tv shows and UA-cam so for me using a Vision Pro to watch content is perfect. I’ve never experienced 3d as good as the Vision Pro can do. I’m also someone who loves 3d stuff and was super impressed by the New 3ds XL when I got one and was bummed out when it didn’t take off, mainly because people’s experience with the 3d effect on the 3ds was unfortunately with the first 3ds which had bad 3d. But I’ve always been hyped over 3d stuff so the Apple Vision Pro is right up my alley.
Its only out for weeks, well post your review
7:55 - Using external video to demonstrate pass-through is horribly misleading. I can record a video on my Quest 3 where I can perfectly read the text on my cellphone whilst watching the video, yet the passthrough cannot read it. You should know better. You even hint to this at 9:20, whilst such issues are completely missing from the recorded footage "demonstrating" the pass-through.
Your avatar is cursed, lol, it looks nothing like you
Make sure to add me to your team in nba 2k
that thumb nail looks disturbing as all F
No no no not special computing, MR not spacial computing
Agreed. If you are removed from your current environment, it's VR. If you add anything to your environment that isn't really there, that is AR. It doesn't matter if it's a dog or multiple computer screens, it's still just AR. There is no such thing as spatial computing. It's just a term the Apple wants to use to take credit for inventing AR/VR.
The AVP does absolutely nothing new. It's just Apple trying to re-invent the wheel and trying to take credit for it.
Just as Apple does, it takes them 5 years and costs 5 times more to achieve what others have already accomplished in the last half decade.
These things look worse than google glasses ... it's funny to me that they actively prohibit any of the early reviews from stating the obvious - that it is indeed a VR headset.
That's a terribly expensive way to irradiate your head with LETHAL Wi-Fi and causing permanent EYE DAMAGE.
