Real talk, good on Valve for actually doing something to honor Rick. I never in a million years thought they'd even publicly acknowledge it, let alone add items to maps in honor of him.

@@mauroalvarez8492 It may be what they want, but I've grown to a point of influence where there's just a tiny chance someone at valve could hypothetically see what I make. Given that, it's my duty to bring this to light.
They normaly travel in packs so they dont get kicked, just dont queur with more than 4 people, and if yoy have more, go to a community server
This shows that valve cares enough to not only make a statue of the soldier for rick may and to make the Soldier insult you, but to also make an entire new song just for this moment. This has given me faith that valve can do some incredible stuff for tf2 in the future.
It was an incredibly fast turnaround too. From the time he died to the time they released a literal update remembering him is proof that they COULD be doing much more with TF2, they're just choosing to leave it in the dust. ;-;
The problem is that valve tens to favour focusing on working on new, revolutionary stuff (most of which is good, but then again...Artifact: The Dota Card Game) instead of focusing on their older, iconic games and franchises (except cs:go, dota 2, and maybe half life if they decide to make more games after Alyx)

no new weapons update, annoying bots everywhere and the source code leak exploit just give me no hope for this game
Valve can do some incredible stuff. I mean, they gave us half life Alyx after we thought that half life was pretty much dead. Anything can happen.

new proposed rule: whenever you enter a match with a statue, you are legally required to go stock soldier, do the salute in front of the statue, and then you are free to go.

I hopped into a 24/7 2Fort server last night because I figured 2Fort is usually the best place for friendlies. A couple people shot me by instinct but once they realized I was just standing in front of the statue they left me alone. I even got 3 more Soldiers and 2 Scouts paying respects in front of the statue. Only time it was ruined was by a stock Spy who I'm guessing just installed the game so I let it slide.
TF2 has its problems but sometimes its community is heartwarming. It was great just standing in front of the statue doing the stock shotgun taunt in May's honor.

The person that inspired me to played TF2 was soldier (Muselk).
I was attractive to his rocket jump (performed by Muselk, HighTower).
and so I start rocket jumping to enemy sentry for no reason before I
secretly trained solo offline at HighTower (no bot) for hours.
After that, I'm now dedicated myself to main soldier on my main account.
I can mostly market garden those player and know how soldier work.

The Soldier Statue is the TF2 version of the Vimy Ridge Memorial. You don't mess with it.
I had never played TF2 before I heard of his death 2 months after he passed, but I am now enjoying playing it….
This is nitpicking but they should have made the statues a little hard to find and you get an achievement for taunting near all statues in every map that has them so it'd be like a fun little Easter egg hunt.

@@blightcaster4388 I could see that to. Make it purchasable in the Mann Co store at any time of the year but all proceeds go to his family. Strangifiers for the weapons as well. That could give the community a chance to effectively donate to his family and show them how much we care.
