Great song from a brilliant, sorely under-appreciated film. Also love Peter Gabriel & Deep Forest's 'While the Earth Sleeps', which plays over the closing titles.
Twenty-five years later and this sci-fi film is horrifyingly relevant. The tragedy that the US turned out so much worse is surreal. Other than blaming police violence on just "a few bad cops" it's all there...military equipment, assassination, riots and a brief but absolutely brutal choke-hold of Angela Bassett's character. The film notes include a quote from writer/producer James Cameron, regarding redemption, "...the fate of this one guy..and his ability to find what's right and what's wrong. If one person can elevate themselves or redeem themselves, then, by extrapolation, we all can." Thank you for this film, Ms. Bigelow. And thank you lennox5150 for posting this, the best possible song for that wonderful moment.
Everything our civilians fought and gave their lives for us, our future to end racism, segregation, prejudice, violence, oppression, discrimination, tyranny, wars and hatred curse that shifts to us from our lineage...how do the people today think they would feel if they saw what they're doing right now? Nothing can undo the past and resurrect the deceased with all this worthless compulsion that enslaves us and limits our capabilities. There's no room for change if such ideology, "laws", expectations, profits, imagination, regulations and predictions prevent it from happening. They and those in power don't know how or when to let go of the past and accept death. Death is nothing but a contemptuous embarrassment to them. Sure, it shatters us, but it helps us collect the puzzles, discovering new things and move forward. Without it, we wouldn't be who we are today. Would you continue working progressively to make our world a better place for MLK and other civilians or keep following the footsteps of our ancestors? I always felt this tune is overwhelming like hardly another. seeing the ending scene, this masterpiece playing -> breathtaking! lennox5150, as there are sincere requests; won't you tell us where you got it from?
Saw this again the other day. So severely underrated. And as we all know, that kiss. That damn kiss. I’m totally straight and married, but even I was like “DAMN Ralph…okay I better make sure to remember to keep looking at my lady like that from time to time…so she remembers one of the reasons there’s no one else, ever.” Just a movie but I must say, after this and several others…we who came from the 90’s? Generation X? We came from a completely different PLANET than you Millennials and, WHINY ass Zoomers? Not even a different time, a different fuckin world We had the music covered for sure until…the death of music (mostly) around what, mid 2000’s, a little later…2014 about the end?
Ummm... millennials definitely grew up in the 90's. The millennial generation ranges from 1980-1995 (or 96 depends). When this film came out, elder millennials were most likely in their teenage years. Heck I was only nine or ten when this film came out. So stop acting like we don't know anything about the 90's and miss us with the name calling too.
How did you get this extended version? I love this song, VERY inspirational. Also have re-watched this movie several times, both for the "SQUID" device concept and the story around it.
Everything that everyone is saying (especially that KISS) But I love that memories were sold like drugs…because if you’ve witnessed enough…they are. I see the death/murder of my precious friend and others all the time. My wife tells people “you don’t want to be in his head. It is a haunting place.” No idea how she knew; but I love her. My memories almost killed me. “Memories were meant to fade”- Strange Days-
I created/mixed this version from scratch. Unfortunately, I don’t have any of the samples anymore that I used to make it. It was about 10 years ago when I made it. You might be able to find and extract similar samples from the “Red Planet” soundtrack but I’m not gonna lie, It took me a couple weeks to create this version and that was with the proper samples. I wanted it to be as close to the movie version as possible so I really had to take my time creating it bit by bit and only getting 5-10 seconds increments at a time. If you know anything about mixing music, that is extremely slow progress. But I was determined to get it right and accurate to the movie. I’m glad I had uploaded it here for everyone to enjoy and to archive the hard work it took for me to make it. But this version and quality are the only version we have. Unless someone els is willing to start over and make a new mix of it.
nice one Ralph Fiennes played Voldemort in Harry Potter saga maybe implying that I am a wizard but more viciously so you want me to be reminded about his David Cronenberg's movie Spider where he plays a Schyzophrenic who doesn't remember his past

Hey Lenny, we made it!
I always felt this tune is overwhelming like hardly another.
seeing the ending scene, this masterpiece playing -> breathtaking!

@@lennox5150 I would really like the mp3. I saw this in the theater. This song moved me.

Bladi Cooper fenomeno ❤
niesamowita piosenka
In this moment.......
Saw this again the other day. So severely underrated. And as we all know, that kiss. That damn kiss. I’m totally straight and married, but even I was like “DAMN Ralph…okay I better make sure to remember to keep looking at my lady like that from time to time…so she remembers one of the reasons there’s no one else, ever.”
Just a movie but I must say, after this and several others…we who came from the 90’s? Generation X?
We came from a completely different PLANET than you Millennials and, WHINY ass Zoomers? Not even a different time, a different fuckin world
We had the music covered for sure until…the death of music (mostly) around what, mid 2000’s, a little later…2014 about the end?
Ummm... millennials definitely grew up in the 90's. The millennial generation ranges from 1980-1995 (or 96 depends). When this film came out, elder millennials were most likely in their teenage years. Heck I was only nine or ten when this film came out. So stop acting like we don't know anything about the 90's and miss us with the name calling too.
why is this song NOT on spotify??
Classic.
How did you get this extended version? I love this song, VERY inspirational. Also have re-watched this movie several times, both for the "SQUID" device concept and the story around it.
Adoro questa musica ❤️
Strange Days was/is very Casablanca like/lyte
Gambling/New Video drug
And that kiss...
F'n luv this
He was so goddamned hot
I need this as a mp3
U could try converting this one to mp3.
WHO KNOWS the melody at 00:14:00 of the movie??? Shazam doesn't help.😓
This is from a bootleg (maybe the one I posted on FF forums) there is also a version of this on the Red Planet soundtrack.
Yes, I did mix this utilizing the bootleg and a few other sources.
Awesome, where did you get this from?
2019🇲🇨
I wish they used Rid of Me in the movie, great track by Juliette Lewis
uh, they did in her second performance on stage, didn't you watch the movie?
Can anyone recommend similar sounding songs?
Teardrop, Massive Attack
They only had 1 disc, and it was on CDBaby, but the band Gramophone are good.
Portishead Roads
Where can I get this mp3??? I want to buy it even but I can't find it anywhere
I don't think that this version was ever officially released, sorry (but I may be able to help you). -John
Ytmp3.cc - silly way to do it, but it works.
Great video. Sent you a PM inquiring about the mp3.
BlueNinjakoopa553 exactly .
Everything that everyone is saying (especially that KISS)
But I love that memories were sold like drugs…because if you’ve witnessed enough…they are. I see the death/murder of my precious friend and others all the time.
My wife tells people “you don’t want to be in his head. It is a haunting place.”
No idea how she knew; but I love her. My memories almost killed me.
“Memories were meant to fade”-
Strange Days-
Oscaf for Bigelow... Strange Days, Point Break, K-19...
Where did you get it? Anyway to get it in better quality?
@@chrisjenkins203 Wow! I didnt know that. Very impressive. I appreciate your work. I have been coming back here for years to enjoy it. Cheers
Also CSI Miami.
can you email me or upload an mp3 of this version? amazing job on the mixing. been looking for this version for a long time too.
+Erika Sevilla sure send me your email and I will send to you.
+lennox5150 hey can I get this in an email as well? I have been searching for this song for literally decades.
me too..this song...omg
Where the fuck can I download this song?! I can't find it anywhere. Not on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify....nowhere! Somebody help!
they never released this extended version
nice one Ralph Fiennes played Voldemort in Harry Potter saga maybe implying that I am a wizard but more viciously so you want me to be reminded about his David Cronenberg's movie Spider where he plays a Schyzophrenic who doesn't remember his past
