Stick for carriers for way too long, so when they all die your opponent is stuck with a bunch of do-nothing vikings which will lose to some stalkers and a handful of disruptors. The chessmaster strikes again!
Yeah, I feel like the castors hate on carriers way too much, the carriers forced a response and parting made the right choice to tech switch at the right time. Then Maru is stuck with an expensive army of landed vikings, which die to pretty much everything else.
Guys I'm new to the game. Can you give me some advice? What terran should have done if not vikings against carriers to not find himself in that final situation?
I Really enjoyed the way how parting played the game. It is very rare to see such a heavy investment to dark templars, and seeing toss force terran to stay on his side of map due to constant dt/zealot harass. I dont know if he intended to bait that many vikings with carriers, but if so that was high iq move.
Parting is playing like a Zerg. Trading inefficiently but taking more bases, and fast tech switch so that the opponent is stuck with sub-optimal units.
@@Nicolas-lg6ys It is. I used to live in New Zealand. Aussies and Kiwis often say words like that. Like ask one of them to pronounce Māori and compare it to how a Māori person says it.
Once both sides have big economies and are stretched over multiple bases Dark Templers become such a pain to deal with. Once the Protoss has money to spend and an army to defend many Terrans die a death of thousand cuts. Terran could try to utalize mine drops to accomplish the same but the APM cost and versatility is way worse even though DT's aren't exactly cheap. There are other ways to hurt the protoss economy but warpins can deal with most of them. Disruptors also make it super difficult if not impossible to set up your army in a nasty spot and divert your attention elsewhere like Terrans love to do. That gives the Protoss a lot of map control. I am not yet convinced that there is no solution to these problems but I am yet to see a Terran really show one, other then averting late game entirely. Ranged liberators felt quit strong and there definitely was a way for Maru to win here. TvP really has become an interesting matchup to watch.
@@ak47tetris84 If you get there. I would agree that Terran has the strongest potential army composition. Going straight into mass BC doesn't seem to be the answer though. Protoss has to much pressure with triple Colossus and Blink Stalker to allow for a save transition, yet I do feel like sky Terran might hold the answer to dealing with Protoss late game. Sharp timings also work but that is sidestepping the issue more than anything else. This is of course in regard of the highest level of play and not my day-to-day ladder experience.
If you ask me tho, maru kinda forgot banshees to snipe those disruptors real hard.
