Its such a small thing, but I love how Clem has a Nydus incoming in his base and lands to Vikings. And then pulls 2 SCV's to help kill it and kills it with 0.1 seconds to go (twice). Im not sure how many players in the world know how many landed Vikings and SCVs you need to kill a Nydus, and he just throws it out routinely.
@@hw8991 It's a highlight video. I recommend you don't click those if you don't want to know the winners, because people will be discussing the highlights in the comments and an anti-spoiler comment is less likely to exist.

Honestly says a lot about how good these players are. Probably some of the best TvZ from Clem that we've ever seen, and it was still a really close match. Serral gives no room for mistakes.
@@BulDurham You don't understand high level play if you think this is turtling. Serral played an aggresive macro style where you seize map control for the entire game by starting with roach rav ling, and after you transition, you continuously throw your entire army at the terran and remax, so that the terran has no choice to stay at home. This style is designed to eventually overwhelm the terran because there are no moments in the game where there is a break in the aggression that allows a terran counterattack on your economy. And the zerg is able to expand as wide as possible. The problem is this is the most inefficient style for zerg in terms of trading because you are constantly committing your entire army into the terran defenses. Meaning if the terran actually survives until the late late game, where resources become scarce, the inefficiency actually matters and the terran will probably win. If serral stopped committing to attacks at any point, then of course Clem would counterattack, but the whole point of Serral's style is to secure map control and be so aggressive, that the terran would just die if the terran ever decided to try and counter on the map.
The expression of playstyles in sc2 has been my favorite thing about the game for a long time, no other game, even Brood War can match it. Clem's TvZ vs Maru vs Gumi vs Cure vs Heromarine vs Byun are all so vastly different and unique. And to see two styles that clash so well together in Serral / Clem. Its something else.
What an incredible game! You may like it very much, this is what peak SC2 looks like. The culmination of more than a decade of skill! Everything was a testament to the incredible dedication players have showed through the years: The micro was perfect, between splits, retargets, lings faking mines out, burrow blocks, lift and fungal... The macro was on point, but more incredibly, the strategy was something I've rarely seen before, especially that incredible read on the lurker drop!
"Serral is DEAD! Clem has KILLED him!" might be my favorite game-ending call in any televised sport ever. Up there with "BEHIND THE BAG", "RING THE BELL BABY! Ding dong the witch is DEAD", and "Down goes Fraiser!"
Clem and Serral put on one of the best shows I have ever seen in Game 3. Serral was on his A game too, and would have absolutely slaughtered anybody else with his play. Clem was UNREAL in this entire tournament. He deserves this victory.
As crazy as it is to nitpick Serral, I feel like he had the opportunity to go double spire before he began the attempted broodlord transition. Could have had 2/2 or even 3/2 corruptors in that fight where he narrowly lost the air and that could have made the difference - at that point he could have afforded it as well. An absolute blast to watch, though. So fantastic to see players of such skill facing off against each other. Crazy how well Clem has adapted his playstyle to suit lategame more.
I think he wanted to save the gas for banelings and lurkers to continue harassing. It was a relatively slow transition, but the whole time he was churning out units to use with nydus’ and base kills to keep Clem from turtling up with static d and liberators.
This game absolutely deserves this title, it shows how far mechanically the game has gone. Watched it live and now it is also my favorite game of all time
Reminds me of a game from the last few years. Maru v Dark in GSL. I think they met in the semis (maybe) but one of their games was just an absolute slugfest, back and forth. I don't even remember the winner, I just remember how evenly matched they were and that it was hugely entertaining game.
Absolutely love it when pro players manage to predict what the other will do even without proper scouting. It shows an actual level of strategy and understanding your opponent.
Creator would be a great contender, if he could stop having mental breakdowns when things go wrong. MaxPax could also easily make it to the finals, if someone can convince him to play premiere tournaments. We do need a hero.
I wonder if starcraft match put a sounds proof between the commentators and players. I know its a pro tier but still , a little info from the commentator might slide in into their game and it will be a turn table
those 3 siege tanks were god damn hero siege tanks. their kill count must have been in the hundreds! like those 3 siege tanks alone helped defend the bottom side for so long, then they were the unbreakable wall at the top side. immaculate positioning of his tanks.
MULE, only Terran can turtle and comeback from this low supply of workers. As long as there's still base on the map, the can transfer their whole supply to army by reserve energy from CC for mule (just save up a bit for scan)
That dropper lord read by Clem was unreal
they meet on the ladder like 15 times a day :P
MF has Observation Haki
Yeah, that was amazing! I almost thought the Vikings had it, but the Zergling spotted them and Serral quickly withdrew them. Still, Clem was unreal!
I thought he heard the audience. The moment they both heard the crowd- they both acted weird.
You are silver to say this man

Lucky to witness this game alive at Atlanta Dreamhack last night. The crowd went absolutely bananas for Clem after this game
Clicked this video. Guess Clem won then.
It must have been good to watch this alive.
Got to be careful with comments that give away the winner. It really ruins the match when the top comment spoils the end.

"The Greatest Sc2 Match" i thought its another bait title, but its indeed one of the best ive watch in these last few month.
"Wow, that clickbait title is so brazen I'll actually watch this!" *later* "Holy shit..."
I've been watching Sc2 since 2010 and I gotta say this is probably the most highest skilled game ever, what a hell of a match!
not just the skillz but the artistry to express their style and at the same time all the mind reads... incredible!

😊
So I stayed awake until 1:30 am on a school day to see the end of the tournament, and let me tell you that much : It's worth it.
Clem has definitely improved his macro/turtle/defense. So proud of him.
First time I rewatched a replay on UA-cam. Too unbelievably great.
That MULE hammer was a thing of beauty.
How clem won that is crazy, those tanks defending that one base made all the difference

I finally went to a tournament and saw this in person it was crqzy
Wished I was there! Hope you enjoyed it though ;)
that last fungal could have been the turning tide if he just had a few more lings and ultras
As a fellow French I would have trust Clem with my life to hold the Maginot line during WW2, a true Hero 💪
I'll just leave this here 19:00 "Like angels in the sky!"
Thanks, good timestamp
"On ne passe pas!"
Clem just went full french and dragged serral through the battle of verdun on this one.

I also have to wonder about the Ultra-switch when he'd had already seen Clem invest into libs and ghosts. But, like you said, that's just nitpicking.

I have to agree- I have been watching SC2 since the beginning, this is the best match I have ever seen.
I was there watching it live when it happened , I was like sc2hl will post on this . Rewatch the replay ! Glad I was there part of history
Day9 said if you start getting ultras you've already lost.
Actually not clickbait. What a show.
It was the most intense SC2 match i have ever seen
Could pretty much be the most insane ZVT i ever witnessed! That was absolutely insane! Damn what a game wtf...
Omg this is one off the best SC games i ever seen. Was like watching a movie
Was waiting for this to get posted. Couldn't agree more, what a match.
Such a huge win for Clem
Serral will remember this.
How many vids with this titel are on this chanel?^^
anyway, im here for it
Only one other from 4 years ago (Neeb vs. Bly) - It's very rare.

3 tanks on highground! 3 Sargent Hammers!

Incredible game, amazing performance by Clem. Thank you for the video, i thoroughly enjoyed it.
that medivac pickup at 19:10 ... just amazing

Glory to the Terrans!

CLEM with the read like it was a Dr. Seuss book.
I can't believe he came back from a 100 supply deficit. I can't recall that ever happening at the highest level.

better than the Final
