I just made this pasta but with a few variations. Rather than penne, I used rotini pasta. I also added red peppers and garlic. It was absolutely DELICIOUS!! My 12 year old daughter is extremely picky. She loved this. It will certainly be a constant dish made for my family. Thank you so much for such a great tasting, flavorful dinner idea, AB!!

I saw this recipe yesterday ran out this morning and got the ingredients and it was absolutely fabulous. In addition to shrimp I added some andolle sausage…..the sauce was just so good with that Cajun seasoning. I even bought garlic infused olive oil which really does kick it up a notch…..a true Naw Orleans recipe. Thank you AB…. By the way doing the pasta first then the shrimp is really the way to go his simplicity and organization is really first class

This is really similar to a dish I make. The main difference is that I seer the shrimp, leaving crusty bits in the pan. I use the saved pasta water to deglaze the pan and it adds a great shrimp flavor to the sauce.

I am making this for dinner tonight, but I am adding ONE thing. Thin red pepper ribbon slices sauteed with the shrimp. TGI-Fridays has a dinner like this with shrimp and chicken and it is excellent.
I’m going to try that, also, will be adding some crawfish and crab meat to it. We’ll see what it will be looking like. Looks delicious. I lived in New Orleans for over six years. That’s a great cooking.
