I'd like to add that it's been my experience that shrimp cooked for more than a total of ~3 minutes can become tough, so I would remove them after they've cooked with the garlic, and return them when the pasta is added to the dish at the end. Yum recipe, thanks ! Just to say I would remove the prawns as soon as cooked (less than 3 mins then add back in with the pasta to finish so they stay succulent). Also, I am personally not too keen on oregano so I would keep a little but go 50/50 parsley and basil leaves. Going to try it :)
Right!,Italian herbs instead of that much oregano and the prawns come first and have to be removed before the other ingredients will be fright and in the end put back into the pan.
I had Cappelini w/a creamy lobster sauce at a restaurant and as I recall they used Basil and Sun Dried tomatoes as well as Cherry Tomatoes but no on the Oregano.

Like the oregano addition. I like to cook cubed chicken breast with crisped bacon pieces, mushrooms -add white wine - serve with pasta of choice. I like tagliatelle & broccoli. And lots of black pepper. Really quick & tasty

I have cooked this recipe maybe 6 or 8 times already. Slightly different. Use one head of garlic, no onions. Use dried oregano instead of fresh parsley (1 or two tbl spoons). Add it onto the shrimp when frying them in the garlic oil mixture. Take the shrimp out when ready, then add tomatoes and cream plus the grated cheese. One tip: Do use linguine as advertised, spaghetti work too, but the taste is better with Linguine. This dish has never failed to impress guests!

Dumb Rule, Fish and no cheese. Ever heard of a fish fillet with cheese from Mcdonalds? Sometimes these rules come from someone that was allergic to cheese or had a bad shrimp and claim to never mix it. Who wouldn't like a creamy shrimp cheesy Sauce. Traditions- Like the lady that cooked eggplants and cut the ends. They asked her why and she wasn't sure. So she asked her great grandmother why and she said she cut the ends of the eggplant because it didn't fit in her pan. It had nothing to do with the Recipe, LOL.
I know there are many comments on the timing for cooking...but I personally did the onion and garlic first....placed the prawn and tomato's in together for two minutes and then dropped the cream in for last minute and then added the pasta immediately after three minutes...the secret is all prepared and cut first before starting. Its a fabulous recipes... same as we do in our restaurant actually. It tastes great! 😋

You may have OVER cooked the shrimp.. you need to remove it before adding in the tomatoes and cream. You can always return the shrimp when you are simmering the cream. Hardcore Italians usually DO NOT MIX cheese with any seafood. It’s a big NO NO! But I’m assuming you are not an Italian matriarch so will give you a free pass 😚
@@kathrynkimmons1651 that's real interesting. I have been in both the northern parts and southern parts of Italy and the same rule of serving seafood applies: "Never with cheese". There is just a strong aversion of combining seafood with any type of cheese. Maybe your relative are of American-Italian descent but nevertheless, other cultures like in Greece and Mexico do combine the two. I'd like to think that it's more geographical than traditional. As in Italy, the cities most famous for their cheeses are much more "inland" and away from the seas.
This looks delicious, but I'll be modifying the recipe a little when I make it. I'm allergic to onion, so I'll use a little extra garlic to compensate. Also, Neither my fiancée nor myself are very fond of tomatoes, so I'll use some mushrooms instead. Finally, the end result here didn't look like there was much sauce left, and I think it would be even better with a lot of creamy sauce, so I am going to add more of the ingredients for the sauce.

Maybe better to cook shrimps alone and add them when the sauce is almost done so you don't overkook them

Shrimp should never be cooked that long. Shrimp should’ve cooked separately and only be mixed at the end with pasta for a minute or two.

You may have OVER cooked the shrimp.. you need to remove it before adding in the tomatoes and cream. You can always return the shrimp when you are simmering the cream. Hardcore Italians usually DO NOT MIX cheese with any seafood. It’s a big NO NO! But I’m assuming you are not an Italian matriarch so will give you a free pass 😚

@@kathrynkimmons1651 that's real interesting. I have been in both the northern parts and southern parts of Italy and the same rule of serving seafood applies: "Never with cheese". There is just a strong aversion of combining seafood with any type of cheese. Maybe your relative are of American-Italian descent but nevertheless, other cultures like in Greece and Mexico do combine the two. I'd like to think that it's more geographical than traditional. As in Italy, the cities most famous for their cheeses are much more "inland" and away from the seas.

This looks delicious, but I'll be modifying the recipe a little when I make it. I'm allergic to onion, so I'll use a little extra garlic to compensate. Also, Neither my fiancée nor myself are very fond of tomatoes, so I'll use some mushrooms instead. Finally, the end result here didn't look like there was much sauce left, and I think it would be even better with a lot of creamy sauce, so I am going to add more of the ingredients for the sauce.
same to all of those except for the cream sauce at the end. More doesn't mean better and I wouldn't want the cream to overpower the other flavours.
How about subbing sundried tomatoes for those cherry toms?
