This is one riff that you will never regret learning. Amidst all the Smoke on the Water and Another One Rides the Bus performances at Guitar Center, this is a good one to break out with to turn a head or two.
HAHA 😂 This is the first riff I learned But it was in 1982 One week before I bought a used Jazz Bass from 1974 and this was a good invest I still have it
Bernard Edwards played the perfect bass lines to go with Anthony Thompson's four-on-the-floor disco drum beat and Nile Rodger's funky guitar. Wonderful.
I'M SEEING THIS LIVE TODAY I'M SO EXCITED AAAAAHHHH, NILE RODGERS AND CHIC UPDATE: THEY WERE AMAZING AND I SPOKE TO CHIC’S BASSIST JERRY BARNES AND I ALSO SPOKE TO NILE RODGERS AAAAAH
Saw this live at a free show in a park about 20 years ago. One of the tightest live bands I've ever seen--even at a free concert. Believe me they were all on their A game.
Good times, para mi es EL TEMA supremo de los 80s, no hubo boliche en que no haya sonado y se haya bailado.Si habré gastado tacos! En cuanto a este cover, este bajo me mata, vibra la de 4 cuerdad a full!!!
I have the identical bass, with 66's. Love the tone , but your technique has to be so clean!(stingray is unforgiving, especially with headphones) You're a great player, I hope to eventually get the skills that you have acquired.
Interesting choice to play the Bernard Edwards bass line, it happened to be the last time he played. Bernard Edwards died in his hotel room shortly after this show (Budakon in Tokyo, Japan.)
I've almost learned this groove but I keep turning the (0,2,0,2,3) on the E and A into (2,0,3,2,0) like an Em descending scale. Tiny fix to make right. 😊
RE-recording with live version of this super hit
youtube blocked my old video with original song
That's BS.

The mother of all basslines......!!!!
The great Bernard Edwards was dyeing, But yet he was still able to produce this masterpiece. What a Legend!!
That classic stingray tone is why I just can't stop playing them! Excellent bass playing, and this version at the budokan is an all time classic
Thanks for listening
Me and my dad made a deal...
Since I want a bass he said that if he buys me a bass I’ll have to learn this riff😂
good luck with studying
Lmao

Wtf is "Another One Rides the Bus"? 😂
Are you talking about "Another One Bites the Dust"?
My man. This bassline claps yearz later. Having a blast playing along.
The bassline which inspired John Deacon to create the another one bites the dust's riff
Ahh I suspected its origins were drawn from this, lesson of the day. its a killer bass line
A great song that inspired another great song (Rappers Delight), that inspired another great song (Another One Bite Za Dusto)
Muse Panic Station bass line too.

Now we have 3 on e by vulfpeck
Edwards and Thompson ... fantastic rhythm and execution
This bassline will always be the "i thought you'll play another one bites the dust" one
Shame really, because Deacon was actually inspired by Good times..
This was released in '79...ABTD in '80
perhaps, to those who have no idea
John Deacon got the bassline from this.
And then I bet this was the sample for say so by Doja cat
Bernard Edwards played the perfect bass lines to go with Anthony Thompson's four-on-the-floor disco drum beat and Nile Rodger's funky guitar. Wonderful.
Thanks for having the volume of the bass up high enough to hear - amazing how many videos don’t
Thanks for listening
Excellent. I use flats on my 78 stingray. This is one of the songs that got me playing bass in 1983.

Although underrated, Bernard Edwards was a genius.
I'm not sure he's underrated though. but agree he was a genius.
Brings back so many memories of 1979.
