Just reminiscing of the best day of music I’ve ever seen in my life. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect. Nile, Chic, Sister Sledge perfection. And to top it off Nile let the crowd know that he had beaten Cancer. A day I’ll never forget
It just about bring tears to my eyes to see how so many people of different races, ages, sex, etc get together. So beautiful! The power of music is what we need to bring us together again. Let's stop the violence and hate and get back to music and "Good Times"
The elites are driving this plandemic! They have split us up! This won't happen again unfortunately.. We can hope..But these psychopaths and government won't allow it .
Just saw him play Margate tonight at dreamland THAT WAS EPIC people of all ages dancing laughing and having an amazing night and that bass player is utterly superb, Nile and the songs he played brought utter joy everone there felt like they were 18 again 🤪 hope he is immortal
I met Nile when I was his product manager at Atlantic Records. I fought hard for Good Times to be the next single off his album. It remains one of my favorite songs to this day.
That riff is so well blended with the drumms & bass and the piano nothing more nothing less ...But enough to be hit 50 years later and so on.. What a HIT .Thank you CHIC
Imagine being lucky enough to get on stage for this then being sad enough to decide to try and film it on your camera instead of just enjoying this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Especially when there's hundreds of professional camera and sound crew doing a way better job than you ever could. Apart from that, outstanding performance - probably the best feel-good song there is.
Chic were and still are one of the finest bands in music; Royalty in their own genre and still relevant today. The sound they capture here is spectacular, we're talking almost as perfect as a studio recording sound. Bernard Edwards would be proud of the long serving bass player replacement, smashed it! Met the legend Nile Rodgers at a gig in Brighton years ago now, nice bloke indeed.
When I saw them at a local free show, they spent about 10mins on their sound check. My friend and I were confused until we heard them play...then it all made sense!
Did anybody noticed how bass line smoothly changes into the song called "A Taste of Honey - Boogie Oogie Oogie" around 8:59? Mind blowing 😮 Love from Serbia ❤🇷🇸
Just saw this show. I was super impressed that Nile used the same guitar for the whole show. He never had to tune. His locking tuners and light strum lend to his guitar staying in tune the whole show. Very impressive and very rare.
Lots of people. They get mad from me because I don't talk to them but who isn't talking to? I try not to talk too much cuz I can't understand them how they reached to the point
Nile Rodgers is a living legend, understandably, one of the greatest guitarists ever!!! Rest in Power Bernard Edward, your basslines will never be forgotten
OMG Been a Chic fan ever since the 80ties. This is amazing. Thank you. Read Nile Rodgers biography. Amazing and thank you for giving us and me all this music
Not really casual Nile Rodgers fan but I saw him at the Sheffield Tramlines festival last year and I loved ever minute of his set, I true legend in music, having just beaten cancer too, nothing but respect 👌
Me and my mate were feeling a bit worse for ware at the back on the sunday. This set complety revived us, all dancing and singing by the end. What a legend!
Wow...I saw CHIC play a free concert at a small local park in the early 2000's. I don't think we realized they could play an audience of 250 thousand another 15 years later. It was a helluva show they did for us and they were all on key, tight and played incredibly well. Definitely "good times"!
Nile Rogers has to be the best R&B Riff guitarist I’ve ever heard. I can’t play like that and no one else can. Plenty people can come close but it’s them sounding like Nile Rogers. I don’t think he knows how great he is. I’m in awe!
I love how he embraced his role in the unintentional founding of Hip Hop in the first major worldwide hit. Then simultaneously disappointed we never hear about how disco played role with the breaks & sampling during the early days of hip hop as it was on the rise. I don't think not once in any the documentaries that cover the beginning explicit mentioning connection of Nile Rodgers & Chic or disco at all.
I suffer with depression, (I'm 45,and not a snowflake attention seeking tit). Every time I listen to this, I forget all my woes, and simply smile from ear to ear! Genius! My only hope.... I really want Nile, or one of his bandmates to see this comment! Absolutely brilliant! And full of love and care!
I've just finished watching the BBC series Portrait Artist Of The Year (Series 6, episode 11) where the prizewinner created a portrait of Nile Rodgers. It was wonderful to watch as during the process Nile chatted to the artist and shared some great anecdotes from his career. He came over as a delightful human being. I recommend it to all his fans.
FWIW this was 2017 not 2013. In 2013, same year the Stones headlined, Chic played the West Holts stage at night. It was very memorable. Nile Rodgers, to paraphrase, said it was the best gig of his life.
Absolutely absolutely absolutely one of my favorite songs of all times, I request this at places that have a DJ, or if I am doing the DJ thing I play this in the middle of a set
Just reminiscing of the best day of music I’ve ever seen in my life. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect. Nile, Chic, Sister Sledge perfection. And to top it off Nile let the crowd know that he had beaten Cancer. A day I’ll never forget
Every concert of Nile Rogers turns into a party. I love this man!
Isn't he a gift?
True
Me too
Si
Nile will be playing in Little Rock, Arkansas on9/26/24 with Billy Idol, hope to see you there!
The bass is utterly mind-blowing!
...I agree, but it is fitting with the classic Bernard Edwards/Nile Rodgers combination. He's a bit too showy for me....and I love my bass-players
@@guyp3599 Bernard died far too young, a fantastic bass player.
Jerry Barnes!
People of all ages and colors in harmony ❤

Well done, Nancy🙌
Was it normal to pick one song off an album to be a single? Or are there many other variables?
Thanks, Nancy
You’re part of music history Nancy!!
This song is a MUST for everybody in the world
That sweet bassline coming back after the pause at 5:30... Goosebumps.
The definition of ‘you sing to guitar but you dance to bass’
The greatest bassline of all time.
Rhythmische Akzente, wo sie kaum wahrgenommen werden - aber unentbehrlich sind .
Verdade irmão eu dancei muito essa música e esse Baixo alucinante marcava os passos na Dança
Bernard Edwards was there too!
You the choppy chords on the guitar? That's not the bass
Rapper's Delight!
💪🏻😁👍🏻
That riff is so well blended with the drumms & bass and the piano nothing more nothing less ...But enough to be hit 50 years later and so on.. What a HIT .Thank you CHIC
Nile Rodgers is a musical genius
It's so awesome to see the younger generation enjoy this beautiful music 👍💕💃

Allein die besondere Erfahrung, unter dem Publikum zu sein, unter diesen Tausenden von Menschen, ist das nicht auch etwas Glückliches?🙂
Even youngsters can get on down to this and it still sounds good in 2020 42 YEARS LATER!
Nice to see the young kids giving it some wasn't it.?
Youngsters! You are cracking me up man. It makes us sound old.
My Kids do! 16 and 18 years! I have reased them well?
true that! this music is timeless!
Yes I’m 19 and I first heard this song back when I was like 12. Still one of my faves, and the singers sounds amazing.
We love musicians like Chic, who make perplex just happy, giving them an unforgettable show
I remember making a cassette tape with only this song before repeat was invented 40 years ago ,…. Man this song brings back so many memories 🥰
C'était la grande classe disco-funky
The sound man should get big props -- so hard to capture such great sound in a setting like this.
That bass! He is amazing and truly a legend. All of them are.
Jerry Barnes 😎
Holy smokes, this is the most energetic live performance I have ever seen

Love this song, it’s a celebration of the precious gift of life.
Does anyone realize how genius Nigel has kept us all dancing and strutting all these years??? And seems like such a gracious soul too!
The best 10 minutes of my life !!!!!!!
Awesome👍🏼 Rev King would approve. All togetherness. I am 67 and I was dancing, the kids and grandkids were dancing. Better than any antidepressants 😜

Nile Rodgers knocks it outta the park - still one of the best songs ever - incredible energy - just want to get up & dance!!!
When this song would hit the airwaves , you knew summer jams and beach parties was approaching.miss my summer days
I saw him last night in Portsmouth. He was absolutely brilliant, mad respect. God is love and love is for everyone
That bass player is going nuts
Him and the drummer were underrated
Yes bass is incredibly underrated. We should go on strike for a month and all compose our own slap riffs.
