@@gavinrehfeldt7389 fucking hilarious, dude. I just saw her and Matt in the show the other night, and the two of them together are a RIOT! Great comedic chemistry and timing.
I’m sure you’ve already seen Matt Doyle and Bonnie Milligan on 54 Below sing Suddenly Seymour. Their interaction is the most genuine I’ve seen. They both get choked up. Watch their eyes.
I’m so I love with her as Audrey… in connection with what you were saying about bringing her in as a black woman- listen to how she drops those G’s at the end of her sentences… it’s different than white Audrey and so much more compelling, and she. She sings he purified me and throws her hands up it turns the song gospel … it adds such depth and emotion and a different texture than white Audrey… I’m. It saying one’s better or worse, but I’m saying the production benefits greatly from this new take and we love to see it!!! 💖💖💖💖
It's definitely a different interpretation of Audrey, but I like that it's not the same. She has an impressive voice and I cannot figure out how she's hitting those notes with her head all the way up like that.
I'd seen Joy when she was Chiffon to Jeremy Jordan's Seymour in 2019 and thought she was outstanding then. She's had a long time to figure what she could bring to the role and I'm glad that she has that opportunity. When I went last week, Maude was out (as was Matt) and her understudy was great and also a POC.
This is my favorite movie since I was a kid and I am 43 ,I have seen this movie At least 100 times and they sound amazing .I wish I could see this live .
Loved it soooo much......Ellen Green is still my favorite but I'd definitely give this performance 10 across the board on a scale from one to ten,,,,,ten being the highest...
Gotta get yo New York to see this in person. Me and my daughter have love LSOH since SHE discovered it as a preteen. We love , love , love what we’ve heard and we Must hear and see more. Awesome rendition!!!
It’s such a cute version!!! Omg they sound amazing. I agree about being a POC brings a different dynamic. Being an abused underdog takes on differ t layers
Just got back from the show and Joy! Wow! She stud gout so much in this show! Her comedy was on point and her inflection created a whole different perspective of Audrey! Met her at the door after and how sweet she is! Glad I had the opportunity!!
Omg wow Joy’s voice is out of this world, and she is stunning. Also I think she already helped me see Audrey differently, I love this story but I wasn’t sure how I related to her, but I think I get it. I hope I get to see this woman perform live one day 🥹
This is iconic! I loved Jonathan Groff’s limited run performance of Seymour because, well, Jonathan Groff. I never really felt like I could love anyone who played Audrey simply because she’s not my favorite character. Joy Woods, however, has made me a believer. She adds so much more dimension than this character has ever been played with. I think I need to go home and see this show…and while I’m there for that, I’ll visit family. 😋
@Itzel My gawd I love Dr Horrible's Sing Along Blog! I was a HUGE Firefly fan back in the actual day, so seeing Our CaptinTightPants as a tool was just hilarious and perfect!
First time I've enjoyed a different Seymor more than R.M., the new Audrey 1 did excellent and is talented for sure but E.G. is on a different plane of existence than us mere mortals and cannot be touched. More props to Joy for having the cahones to step into such a role, I don't think I could handle the critique at such a level under such a large shadow, it would break me..
Matt did a magnificent job! Joy’s voice is magnificent as well, but an Audrey she is not. Audrey is a battered women and she is lost. Seymour is her light and hope. Joy’s voice is beautiful no doubt, but she’s not in character when she portrays Audrey with this song.
She is fantastic. She honestly gives Audrey a depth, I've always thought the character needed.
Was she funny?

@@Theo-gu2tkthat's good. The few videos where she performs seem stiff.
Oh my effing god! That black woman magic is just surreal. Her growls and takes are just goosebump inducing!!!

Its exactly what you want out of a new actress stepping into the role. This casting for Joy is so well deserved, I could go on forever about it.
It's definitely a different interpretation of Audrey, but I like that it's not the same. She has an impressive voice and I cannot figure out how she's hitting those notes with her head all the way up like that.
Right? Maybe not the most ideal technique - but who can argue with that sound

I was lucky enough to see them last month and they were PERFECT. I was already a huge Matt Doyle fan but Joy Woods was a revelation.
so glad to hear it

Saw Doyle and the original cast in Spring Awakening-that cast was a force of nature.
Technically wasn't part of the original cast, but still the show that started his standout broadway career.

We've been waiting for Joy to return to Skid Row... but now as Audrey? Hands down the best move Mushnik & Son could have ever made!
Have booked this show for September 23 after seeing it last September lol. It’s a a great location west side theatre is an old chapel
Also, we got to see Jeremy Jordan in this role in November of 21, and he was great.
Great!!
WOW❣️ I saw her in SIX and him in COMPANY. I saw the original revival cast but it looks like I need to go back. This was awesome.
him in company... incredible no?
@@MarcDanielPatrick absolutely. He totally stopped the show!
wow, goosebumps

soooo well said
Please react to Joy Woods singing Somewhere That's Green. It's such a beautiful performance.
Joy Woods gives me goosebumps she is incredible as Audrey her voice is beautiful
Suddenly I enjoy the character Audrey, because of Joy! Best EVER!
In my top 5 songs
Yeppers, the goosies are at an all time high.
Cute couple. Star quality.
He sounds a lot like Neil Patrick Harris.
He does a bit, huh?

its so true. The shoes you're stepping into here by taking on such a role. Safe to say she passes the test with ease.
Joy= phenomenal. 😮. Just saw it in March with Matt/Maude.
time for a second viewing
@@MarcDanielPatrick yes!!!! Only an hour by train!
We skipped Maude Apatow?
She was out when I went which was disappointing since I'd gone specifically to see her. Wanted to see her interpretation after Tammy and Lena.
that was incredible, wtf

I want a character voice from her… she doesn’t do it for me
