This game was in development for 10 years. That's the only reason it's as big as it is. It would never be the game it is today if this were under development, waiting for release

I only brought it up because I've wanted to challenge myself to play from when I started minecraft (beta 1.5) up to recent. I miss rapid fire bows :(

"That's the only reason it's as big as it is." minecraft is a tiny game. it literally has hardly any features, especially in survival, and it's been in development for over 10 years. let's compare it to terraria, which is only 8 years old. minecraft has 6 types of armour (7 if you include turtle armour, but almost nobody does). terraria, on the other hand, has 88 types of armour. that's a huge jump from 6. minecraft only has 2 bosses and 1 miniboss(wither, ender dragon, elder guardian) while terraria has 34 bosses. minecraft has only 1 boss of progression. terraria has 12. minecraft has 28 types of potions, while terraria has 40 (including healing potions.) minecraft has only 8 different weapons, while terraria has 554. trust me, that took me AGES to count how many there is, but i managed to get it exact. minecraft only has 46 different creatures(not including bosses.) terraria has 520 different creatures. yeah... you get the point. minecraft is a tiny game... but terraria is also a massive game.
oh, and did i mention terraria has official mod support?
although, minecraft is the 1st bestselling game. terraria is the 15th (although imo it deserves a lot more attention)
Drigonis Congrats, you’ve entirely missed the point. The amount of items in a game does not define how big it is. Minecraft is bigger than Terraria will ever be, precisely because it is _not_ defined by how many items are in it. The beauty of Minecraft is its open-endedness. The endless possibilities. With what the game gives you, you can do almost _anything._ It is big thanks to its possibilities and its playerbase - not for the amount of potions it has.

This is pretty accurate, and he does that in the video several times and it just gets ridiculous how big of a jump is made at times.

It's quite amazing how far this game has gotten with it's updates. I rember playing in alpha when i the update for glass blocks came out. This is the only update i really can remember because the glass block had a bug and let rain through. If i remember correctly they fixed this in just some hours. There you have it, a little time capsule from ca may 2009...

Honestly, if he puts some catacombs in the base it'll make it even more awesome. Hell, add some mysterious crypts or something similar as well and you got yourself a very fine Lovecraft/Harry Potter-esque castle.
