In all videos I've watched about this, in all angles of this photo, even when the man was showing the image to passerbys through his phone, i STILL see it as White and Gold. I refuse to believe it's black and blue. I just don't see it. They are very contrasting colours. I feel gaslit.
So interesting. I remember when the dress was all over the Internet. I saw blue and black very consistently, except for one time when I saw white and gold. Later, no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn’t see white and gold again.
This is so insane to me. Of all the pictures I’ve ever seen, I’ve always seen White and Gold. When they change the lighting, I see dim white and gold or bright white and gold like I do for the thumbnail of this very video. When they show VIDEO of the “actual” dress like on the mannequin in the store window in this video, I do see blue and black but how can I mistake Gold for black? That makes absolutely zero sense. I think this whole thing was a psyop.

Sorry but I just feel like I'm being gas lit over the colours of a checker board. They look the same because the video changed the colours.

How do people see anything other than the colours in the photo? Why are people who see the true colours in the photo of brown and light blue simply dismissed?

I've always seen white and gold. Until today! I looked at the thumbnail of this video, through my fingers (covering the background light), and one eye closed, and the other squinted. As soon as i moved my hand (bringing back the background light), it went back to white and gold.
Is the thumbnail of the video not just a Black and Blue dress on the left and a Black and Blue dress in sunlight on the right? 😂😂

Open the dress image in photoshop. Sample the two colours. Khaki and mauve.

I took a screenshot and zoomed into the squares of the checker board and they are literally different colors when you put them side by side. The difference is almost noticeable because obviously the lighter one has a shadow on top and it dakened but it is still lighter than the darker square.
I'm thinking people are looking at on different screens in different glares. If you zoom in completely on the "black" part it's nowhere near black.
Even when I think of it as being in the shadows it’s still 100% white and gold to my eyes. It’s not like obviously white and gold but that’s what my brain is telling me those colors are and even when I look at it under sunlight or super dark it doesn’t make a difference

The real colors are: light blue and dark gold. Some people interpret as white and gold, some people interpret as blue and black

Until today, I have always seen it as white and gold. After seeing the obviously black and blue dress in the store window, and then looking at the phone, for a few seconds, it was plainly black and blue. I was in utter shock! Then, it suddenly clipped back to white and gold, and no matter how many times I look at the dress in the store window and then at the phone, it still looks white and gold! Am I going crazy?! Someone tell me what's going on!
Me watching this video and seeing the dress as black and blue, but the caption for another suggested video on the side of my screen is showing it as white and gold. So no, it has nothing to do with how one is perceiving it. This is more of a psychological experiment to see if one is more prone to suggestion rather than what they witness with their own eyes. It may also be the setting adjustments on one's screen.
Never understood how people saw White and Gold. It's so obviously black and blue especially because of the background showing how well lit the area is around it. I thought people were joking when they said they saw white and gold, like the whole lions vs pokemon thing. I'm still not convinced people aren't joking about it to this day its so obvious.

What was the actual color of the dress by the way? I have no idea what the dress is supposed to be. My eyes have different colors cones appear more like highlighter bright.
I think part of it comes down to how your brain perceives color. But some people don't see the same shade of color when looking at it. What is red for one person, is a darker shade of red or it's more pink.

This is really jusgy but i think it *could* be that people that see white and gold struggle more with emotions/lower self esteem/care for/understand others emotions alot more and/or are very creative/“different” and the opposite for the other one (high self confidence), especially because of the comments saying they saw black n blue are so freaking rude for no reason, if you get mad at me saying that it just proves it further.

The "shadows vs direct sunlight" explanation does not make much sense.
You would see it as black and blue if you saw it under a "normal" sunlight (which is yellow). People who see it as white and gold are seeing it under a very blue light, which is unnatural and does not make sense. There is no blue light commonly used in shops and certainly natural light is NOT blue.
The only way that dress could be white is if it had a very strong blue light on it, thus making it appear as light blue in the picture. But that's not the case, conversely the black color is appearing (very) slightly gold because there is a very strong yellow light on the black part.
Hence our brain should be pretty obviously compensating for the yellow light and realize that of course it's blue and black.
There is no other possible answer.

The dress in the video is clearly not the same dress, might be the same model, bua bit different on the top, and black and blue colours are too saturated to be misconceived. Also telephone screen and camera back then could be worse in colour perception and hence the arguments. This video is not informative at all.
It's the same dress, that's how i see it in the original picture. That doesn't mean that it's how the original picture is like, maybe it's in between, but our brains go one way or the other in trying to adjust.

I got chills. I opened the snipping tool in windows 11, took a screenshot of A square, than B square, than A and B together. B screenshot looks darker than in original picture, but it changes depending on what screenshot i see before it. Try switching between 3 screenshots(A, B, A and B)
