Oh Marion, I cried when I read the title of this video. So many of us have been placed in the unenviable position of rethinking our Christmas celebrations. I thought of the book Little Women when they shared their Christmas dinner with those less fortunate. Thank you so much for this set of recipes which I think will bring real joy to others at the end of despicable year.
This is an interesting distinction. I'm from Canada with American parents, my mom always called it shepherd's pie, she'd make it with beef! I love the name difference though, Cottage Pie is such a cute name! I will be calling it that from now on :)
@@fataldoughnut5626 to be completely clear, the original person is right, traditionally, a shepherds pie is made using leftover roast lamb and cottage pie is using fresh beef mice but as we don’t eat much lamb here in Australia as it’s very much only available seasonally, plus making the pie with leftover roast can be a bit dry, we tend to just use fresh mice, usually beef. Not really sure why we call it shepherds pie rather than cottage pie but we do.
I’m so happy to know that someone as fabulous as Marion watches Matty Mathesons channel where every other word is f*ck and he literally craps at the end of an episode
I liked u when u use ur hand to measure the salt just like my mom.... I addicted to ur vedios... And ur cooking so neat and traditional I really love it....
Thank Marion for your fabulous Japanese Potato Salad and Vietnamese butterfly chicken, it was an absolute hit at our fmaily xmas lunch. Merry Christmas to you and your family from Margaret River, WA.
I’m going to make the shepherds pie in a giant casserole pot this Christmas! And add hot chilli oil to my lamb- to reduce the greasiness feel and make it more fragrant! Thanks Marion
Absolutely delicious! I'm sad I can't eat this right now. I have no choice but to do my best to make it myself ... Japanese-style potato salad goes well with sandwiches and rice! I also like using shichimi peppers. Have a nice New Year holidays.
Shepherd pie with beef is usually called cottage pie, but we still call it Shepherd pie cos my Mum used to use leftover mutton or lamb roast and leftover corned beef minced up with onion and topped with mash back in the 70’s - love your version...
Yes you are correct. Easy to renember: sheperd is taking care of sheep. Never seen a sheperd with cows 😌. If only I could still cook myself. Am bed bound so have to instruct carers. Some of them can cook, many can not. These dishes look fantastic.

I needed these. Omg thanks for uploading
Look very delicious 😋 😋🤤🤤
you are THE BEST!!!!
Nice
Your mom is so nice. My mom pick apart my food before she even see it or taste it
SHEPHERDS PIE is made with lamb, COTTAGE PIE is made with beef. They are both made with a creamy mash topping that is then baked.
Possibly a silly question, but: is there no oil on the chicken at all? I've watched it back a couple of times and it seems not?
That shepherds pie looks so good! 😍 also love your festive blouse! 💕
Shepherds pie made with beef is cottage pie.
When i went to england we order shepperd pie and it's wasnt good. But yours seem much better. I will try it. Love from Québec Canada.
If shepherds pie is made with beef it’s called cottage pie...from what I heard.

I never had shepherds pie until I was in my 40’s, now it is one of my favourite comfort foods.
Omg you watch Matty Matheson!?!? That's awesome!
❤️❤️
Shepherd's pie = lamb rancherspie = beef
‘With beef, not technically correct. I will be making a asian version’ hahaha okay..
True
actually shepherds pie should be made with mutton or hogget but lamb is good. my mum and Nan always made it with left over roast minced .
Loveeee you but I’m w your friend on using beef for the Shepard’s pie... lamb is best of course, but not budget friendly. 💕😝
😊♥️
LOL so many people forget that Cottage pie is the beef version of Shepherds Pie...
Hey beautiful Marion 😍
Bossy Marion 🤩 😂
You are beauty mama
Using beef is a cottage pie in the uk, not a shepherd 😉
I don't like lamb. Maybe time to try it again?
Liked these except for the shepherd’s pie presented in a cup .
Isn't shepherds pie a beef Irish dish?
No it gets it’s name “shepherds” pie because of the use of lamb mince
