I am such a food snob that the title put me off, however I did watch it and wow I am so impressed. No food waste either or having to eat Turkey for a whole week! I think I'll try it this year. Thank you Katie Pix you're a star!
I have made a version of this every year and it’s always so delicious! It also saves the pressure of a big meal because she guides you through it so nicely. ❤
She's fantastic, so charismatic and explains everything in such a fun way. Brilliant idea for students, elderly people, and well, anyone with a lack of time or space.
+Sam Lucas YAY! This is the best response I could have wished for. This was my solution for my student Christmases. There was never enough oven space and I couldn't be bothered with the inevitable ton of leftovers. Problem solved. Let me know how it goes! And if there are any other recipes you fancy, just shout! x Thank you so much for watching and commenting! MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Haha I will do! :) I'm a fan of winter soups and decent breads so something like that would be great because again I can freeze extra portions! thanks for the reply and Merry Christmas to you too!
This is just genius! Katie my girl- we need more of these 'cut the flaff out' recipe concoctions. Anything with near to zero washing up and you've got me hooked :) Love your style of presenting- it's like listening to a mate :)
+Dharini Adhvaryu We LOVE her too! Stay tuned for more delicious recipes from Katie Pix. Don't forget to check out her channel too: ua-cam.com/users/TheKatiePix
Katie - thanks so much for this simple yet tasty looking recipe! I had a friend in university (30 yrs ago) who had the amazing ability to make one pan meals like this and they were great! Some of them had uncooked rice and the juices from the meat and veg would cook the rice to perfection along with everything else. She would make each persons meal in aluminum pie plates, serve, eat, burp and toss the plates in the garbage when finished! The only cleanup was the cutlery and the chefs knife - perfect for busy students!
+P Scott What a talent! And the rice cooking in the juices is genius. I will certainly accept the challenge of more one-tray recipes. :) Thank you so much for watching and leaving a lovely/interesting comment. Love hearing about everyone's super speedy recipes!
Thanks to Covid I'll be not seeing family at Christmas (except on Zoom!) and yes I'm quite sad at the thought but i can't help feel excited about making my first traditional Christmas dinner and without judgement. I have been researching recipes for one or two, i look forward to following this on the day it seems ideal to me - I'll keep the quantity so i have plenty for seconds or leftovers! Need to start buying the ingredients soon...
Forget the Xmas only I'm doing this for me and my daughter on Wednesday nights I live on my own and love cooking so this will be great. I normally make loads of pasta dishes and cottage pies freeze them then pop in oven in the morning before work on timer when I get home piping hot homemade meals beats any rubbish frozen food from the supermarket! Great vid!
+Mankit Cheung I am in love with this comment. Thank you so so much for such a chirpy and positive response. Really overwhelmed by your kindness. MERRY CHRISTMAS indeed! x
I live with my partner who doesn't like roast dinners (i know, i know) and so, you've made my day, and it's only 7:55am. I am definitely doing this for myself more often, thank you!
This is great, and can size up easily, made a version of this for 5 and it was a hit...definitely gonna make this again and again.....and the no washing up is such a nice change 😍
This is awesome! This christmas will be the first I'll spent alone so this is perfect for me :) dinner for first and second christmas day without dishes! Thanks a lot ^^ and I liked your way of explaining things.
Great idea, very practical, you can use this idea to prepare various recipes and transports them to the home of friends in a community Christmas dinner where everyone brings a dish. Very cool, thanks for sharing.
Will defiantly be doing this one for xmas this year , as it's just me and my hubby , and I don't want all the fuss and be on my feet long as I'm pregnant , and the last thing I want to be doing is cooking , cleaning and rushing about! we have a pork belly instead that I will crisp up and do the same as you with stuffing , YUMMY (Turkey is TOO expensive here in NZ and I've NEVER seen them like that here before .) Thanks for such an easy idea ! You've made my day so easy and stress free!
its long gone Christmas now but you can never go wrong with a roast and this .. well its just perfect. and cheaper because less waste buying excess food!!! Jamie you have some stern competition. haha
This is fab!! Obviously not going to compare to mums xmas dinner, but that's not the point here. It's easy, hassle free, and convenient, if I was still at uni I would absolutely be going by this! Nice one Katie
+hypan16 You have got it exactly. Nothing ever beats mum's, but it's a solid solution for a quick, affordable and hassle-free roast! Thank you for your lovely comment x
I'm a terrible cook but i'm facing my first Christmas without Mum's cooking and i think this might just be the thing to get me through! Thanks for saving my bacon, turkey, spuds, parsnips etc :D
I think this would be a fun video to watch whilst being a bit tipsy on wine. Simply love Katie's personality! A bit like a funny Gen Y version of Nigella.
+angeliqueinhollywood Wohoo! I will take that! :D Although it's noticeably less sexy when I'm eating out the fridge for a midnight snack... trust me. Like Bridget Jones.
This would be great for mid week roast, but for christmas, even if it is just for two, you MUST go all out, think of all the leftovers and bubble and squeak aughhh 👌
+ssshlow I hear ya! Luckily I have a very talented Ma & Pa who won't be able to resist a full blown Christmas! May have this one the Sunday before as a warm up! ;)
I'm so glad to see someone else doing Yorkshire pudding with poultry, we've had this combo since my first roast as a child. But when you eat out and go for a traditional roast chicken/turkey there's no bloody yorkies! What gives?!

I have for many years followed Jamie Olivers christmas menu but will be doing yours from now on sorry Jamie
This is the type of food that I'll be doing when I'm spending Sundays on campus and I can't have my family Sunday roast. And I don't have to buy extra cooking equipment with the disposable tray!
Katie Pix Oh, Katie, it was glorious :) I overcooked the vegetables a bit due to some time management issues, but it was still within reason. I also had to replace one of my tinfoil cups, as it ruptured. I gave one portion to my girlfriend; I've never seen her eat that much in one sitting :) I admire the simplicity with which you are able to make such grand and demanding meal. You truly made it available for "common folk". Thank you :)
+Manel Mula Ferrer It should stay nice and moist as the stuffing has lots of moisture rich ingredients, but if in doubt loosely cover the turkey itself with tin foil so it steams rather than roasts. :D Let me know how it goes!
I am such a food snob that the title put me off, however I did watch it and wow I am so impressed. No food waste either or having to eat Turkey for a whole week!

+Harry Rees Thanks for the AWESOME comment, Harry. You're a true LEGEND.
+Harry Rees Thank you so much, Harry! That's the aim. Easy peasy food that skimps only on time NOT flavour. Hopefully more to come :D
Harry Rees it’s been 4 years, but also for us who are alone this day! I’ll cut it in half or eat the second meal next day!
Just genius
That is actually such a great idea! I'm a student and am definitely going to give this a go!!
+Sam Lucas YAY! This is the best response I could have wished for. This was my solution for my student Christmases. I'm so glad to see someone else doing Yorkshire pudding with poultry, we've had this combo since my first roast as a child. But when you eat out and go for a traditional roast chicken/turkey there's no bloody yorkies! What gives?!
+Julie Cross I couldn't agree more - it's not right! Yorkies complete a roast!
A bit different from Sweden, but I'm all for it! Looks great, and I love the little puddings :-)
+Martin Ahlman Thank you so much for watching and leaving a lovely comment!
+Katie Pix I only like good food! And I really love how you can get around pickled herring (there's no life in sweden without pickled herring in Sweden, we should switch recipes!)
If you don't like dill you can use coriander. But I think it tastes horrible. Go for dill!
+Martin Ahlman It's a Christmas GOODEN. x
loved this, so simple, thanks to your explaining everything, will be trying this myself at christmas, I have always cooked christmas dinner in our house and am fed up with juggling numerous pansso this will be much easier for me, the only thing that would be better would be if you could come and cook it for us, your jolly and happy attitude has christmas written all over it, just one question sprouts! christmas without sprouts? is that allowed? Katie Pix Oh, Katie, it was glorious :) I overcooked the vegetables a bit due to some time management issues, but it was still within reason. I also had to replace one of my tinfoil cups, as it ruptured.
I gave one portion to my girlfriend; I've never seen her eat that much in one sitting :)
I admire the simplicity with which you are able to make such grand and demanding meal. You truly made it available for "common folk".

That looks amazing! I'm afraid that the turkey will turn out dry though! :/ How can I avoid that?
+Manel Mula Ferrer It should stay nice and moist as the stuffing has lots of moisture rich ingredients, but if in doubt loosely cover the turkey itself with tin foil so it steams rather than roasts. :D Let me know how it goes!
"What's stuffin' without your sausage?!" ahahaha
+Abraham Silicone FILTHY! :P
