    "#1, keep up with the FRICKIN landscaping!"
    Got a good chuckle out of that. Great channel! I've been helping a family member with their pool business and I want to see if this is something I'd like to get involved in myself. Your vids have been extremely helpful. Keep it up!

    I just started working as a pool cleaner for a company here in Texas and that landscaping comment was on point. It’s a pain the ass to get to the pumps at some of the houses and it drives me crazy.

    Great vid. Thanks for that. After many years of having a pool guy , I’m taking care of it this year due to increased costs so I’m learning as I go.

      Yeah, cost are going up between Chemicals and reliable labor. Glad you’re taking initiative. It’s usually 15 minutes a week for a homeowner to keep their pool in shape.

    What did you have your pump set to when doing this? Filter or Backwash or what? Good video thx.

    As you're vacuuming what setting do you run the filter (sand) on?

    What speed was that pump running at? I just bought a house with a 25,000 gallon pool 16ftx35ft with that same pump but the programming was cleared, any recommendations for speeds during the day and night?

    I generally like to use the return line to pump water unto the vacuum hose to get the air out, but that's a great idea pushing the hose into the water.

      There’s nothing wrong with that method. I meant to actually touch on that in the video but totally forgot! I know a lot of guys that do it that way.

    My skimmer isn't sucking and I think my pool guys are ripping me off. Also of the two pipes in the skimmer the one closest to the pool is capped. Help please...😫

      It’s possible your main drain line has a crack and someone plugged both ends to abandon it. Either that or a vacmate was used in the pool where you plug the main drain so it can operate correctly. Have a good talk with your pool guys and ask them WHY the skimmer isn’t operating like it should. If they don’t know how to fix it (and if they’re a weekly pool service company, it may be out of their scope of work), ask them for a referral for someone that can solve the problem.

    You allowed the pump to draw all the water out of the hose. I was told it was harmful to the pump to allow air in, is that true?

    • @SwimmingPoolAZ-SPS
      @SwimmingPoolAZ-SPS  3 роки тому +1

      The intermittent consumption of air by the pump is something it’s engineered to withstand. It’s when a pump runs completely dry for more than about 5 minutes is when damage can occur. Keep in mind I pulled the hose out of the skimmer as the last bit of water was being sucked out of it by the pump. When I pulled the hose out of the hole at the last second, the pump was then pulling water from the skimmer with no or very little interruption to water flow.
