Thank you. I had not been running the hose through the opening to the skimmer, I had been running it over the edge of pool and it kept losing suction. I have a polaris and so don't manually vacuum too often, so this was a helpful video for me.
Excellent! We're glad to hear that it helped.
Good stuff. Very useful. Thanks so much !
Do you backwash and rinse with every vacuuming?
Thanks for this video! Straightforward and easy to follow
Glad it was helpful!
Nice video. Straightforward. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
I have a old 1 speed 3 hp 1996 challenger and the motor need replacement . Is it wise to buy a 2 speed motor to replace the one speed motor for energy saving when I just want to circulate my chemicals in the water???? BTW. I have an 8 jet spa and when valved off the spa has one separate jet that acts as a pool a overflow water fall while the pool is in valved for circulation and skimming. I also have a return separately valved for my polaris pressure side cleaner that i run as needed . In this 15000 gallon pool with a 10 person spa.
Does the pump need to be in filteration mode while doing this or rinse mode?
very helpful, thank god you mentioned the vac plate or else I would have created a bigger problem!
I have the main drain almost about closed skimmer open all the way and past owner would always lose suction do I need to change the Hayward filter to a different setting. I only have a main drain not a skimmer access hole. I might need to dm a picture. This pool is old school
Finally a basic pool how to vacuum a pool
Where does the dirty stuff go when it enters into the skimmer? New to this stuff thanks!
If you are using a vac plate on the skimmer basket, the larger debris will get trapped in the skimmer basket and the smaller stuff will go into the filter.
What is the pump setting Is it on Backwash or regular setting?
You may be referring to the filter valve. If there is a lot of debris on the pool floor, you'll want to have the filter set on waste when manually vacuuming. That way the filter won't fill up quickly. If there isn't much debris and you want to conserve some water, you can keep the valve in the filter position.
If you have a variable speed pump and there is a speed setting called "Backwash" and a speed setting called "Regular", I'd go with backwash because that would normally be a higher RPM setting.
I put the pool vacuum into our above spa that is connected with the pool, however when I tried to vacuum the spa, the water starts to go down and it seems my pool gets filled. Not sure why my spa would start draining when I'm trying to vacuum it. Any ideas why this would happen?
If the pool and spa's plumbing is connected to and runs off a single pump, the spa's return line is likely closed off, likely by a diverter valve. If there is a separate spa pump, you probably have it off while vacuuming the spa, which means it's not being refilled with fresh water as you hoover out the old water.
@@Inyopools makes a lot of sense! Thank you so much for the reply!!!
remove dead floor algae ?
Algae that has been killed off from a pool shock treatment may drop to the pool floor on its own or with the addition of a flocculant.
Water I'm pulling out is coming back in
What do you mean by the water comes back in? Is it coming through the return line? If so, is it still dirty?
My robot quit working, so thanks for the demonstration.
Glad to help!
Leaves. not leafs.
