    Just recently when I turn my iPhone SE on in the morning I get 3-6 phone notifications on my iPhone icon. When I open the icon there are no calls at all. What is going on?

    What do you think about Last Pass for password protection?

    • @PayetteForward
      @PayetteForward  10 місяців тому +2

      A Google search for “lastpass hack” should shed some light on that subject. 🤦‍♂️
      I personally use iCloud Keychain as my password manager. It could get hacked someday, of course, and then I’d be screwed. But in terms of companies with the most to lose if that did happen, Apple and Google would be near the top of that list. If it’s in their best interest to keep passwords safe and they have the resources and expertise to do so, then those are the companies I trust with passwords.

      @tadghcr2175 10 місяців тому

      How To Geek has info on LastPass, its data breaches, and what password managers they recommend instead. For every category of product or service they review and recommend, they explain other reasons to consider one over another (e.g., if you care about not having proprietary software or other niche concerns).

    2 missing off the list. Hardware tokens and also Passkeys. Hardware tokens not only are good for consumers (for certain high value accounts if supported) but call centres and high security environments will not allow the second factor to be one that requires a mobile phone.

    You guys are awesome! always produce such clear and concise info. I have a question, that maybe you guys know off the top of your head, or maybe could be a future video. I want a second phone number on my Iphone, there are a lot of services out there, with very mixed reviews, any good one that you guys can give your approval to? thanks again for all the great content!

      Hey, thanks! So in terms of eSIM compatible carriers, Apple’s page here ( support.apple.com/en-us/HT209096 ) has a list of them for a lot of countries. It’s really up to you. But carriers like Visible aren’t listed there, and they have some good plans! They’re also owned by Verizon, unlike the other smaller carriers which are just affiliates, so you get the top of the line service, assuming Verizon is good in your area. Also Tello might be a good choice (also not on Apple’s website) but they do have eSIMs and their plans are affordable. Good luck!

      @@PayetteForward Oh shoot, I didn't explain myself clearly, my bad. I want to simply add a discrete phone number to my Iphone, like Hushed or Burner, something for a handful of biz calls. What about Apple iPhones can they be hacked?

    • @PayetteForward
      @PayetteForward  10 місяців тому +5

      I tend to agree. Do they get hacked often? Definitely not. Are they about as safe as you can get in a smartphone? I think so. Have I asked myself enough questions? Yep.
      Thanks for watching :)

      Common app updates are normal depending on the type of app! Phone OS updates on the other hand don't typically update often unless of security vulnerabilities!
