My wife and I went to Porsche in Santa Monica. When we walked on the lot we could see the guys inside chatting it up. After a long period, a guy reluctantly came out. He refused to shake my hand so I told him I was interested in a 911 they had. I asked if it was possible to drive it. He said have you ever driven a Porsche? After I said yes he said it drives just like any other Porsche. I looked at my wife and we walked off the lot. Ended up doing the Porsche factory tour in Germany and ended up buying a 911. I wrote the dealership a letter explaining the encounter. Needless to say, they were embarrassed. We recently bought a 992 Carrera 4 S and the encounter was much better!

Wow! Thing is , is it just sales people lacking motivation or is it " something else"?
If I were a dealer, my staff would be made up of go getters , self starters and highly motivated folks.
I read about a guy, an elderly white guy who didn't dress up, wore slightly shabby clothes but was a multi millionaire.
He got mistreated at a dealership , ignored and slightly insulted.
He went away, made a few phone calls and the next day went back and informed the same disrespectful folks the HE was the new owner and they had fired themselves.
True sales folks are filled with hustle, regardless.

The BEST approach is when the store genuinely acknowledges you with a warm greeting and lets you go about your business of looking without pressure while ensuring they are readily available when needed. Ive owned 3 Harleys and have visited quite a few dealerships on the East Coast. Most of them don't speak right away. The one who was most attentive had the worst business practices of them all. They were like a bad used car dealership - on you like a dog on a bone and finding ayway possible to jack up the prices for profit.

I had my grubby work clothes on. I stood around looking at that bike for twenty minutes while a clump of sales guys told jokes to each other. I watched as 2 couples and a single man walked in and we're greeted and helped. I never received as much as a look. I went to a dealer a little farther away and the experience was completely different. Hey Kue! Glad to hear that you went to Niagara Falls Canada. I live about 100 miles from there. Just a note about Colorado highway 550. I did a trip on my Ultra in 2012 to the million dollar highway. MAKE SURE you’ve got fresh brakes and tires. There are hairpin switchbacks and some places have no guard rails with 900-1000 ft drops. Don’t worry it may sound really scary but millions of riders do it every year. Just make sure you are well rested and it ain’t raining. Riding through it on a big heavy Bagger is comfortable, but it ain’t no sport bike. Just saying that’s all. Google it on UA-cam to see how other riders have it captured on video. Many blessings and enjoy! 😊🇨🇦

First time checking out your channel. I had a similar experience with a dealer. I'm a blue-collar guy. When to dealer in hometown with trade in and cash in hand knowing I was riding out with a new bike. Wandered around for half an hour being ignored. In walks a man suite pants button down shirt with loose tie. They were on him before he got 15 feet in. Rode 40 miles up to next town and was greeted as soon as I walked in the door. Asked what I needed, knew what I rode up on. That was in 2000. I have bought 3 bikes from them since.

Maybe that dealership is short handed?
They sure have a big inventory, maybe they had too let most of the salesfolk go due to lack of sales?
So much of the traffic on the floor (including myself) ain't gonna buy a bike anywho, just oogleing the inventory on the way out from the parts counter.
I personally like it when they leave me alone.

Although I no longer ride for several reasons I would like to give my respects and thanks to my main shop for the last 25 years (of my riding). It was Grassroots BMW in Cape Girardeau, MO. They all knew my name and I knew them all, too. Great people. And the bikes I had were bullet proof. I know some guys like Harleys. Fair and well. But you deserve to get respect from the shops you patronize, no matter the brand.

Just make sure you get a pass lined out for the road to the sun in glacier national. Found out the hard way how difficult it is to get a pass. You have to get that ironed out in advance. Unless you plan to ride it off hours (like I had to). BTW - it's good to see your channel growing. Keep up the good content, my friend.

I remember in the 90’s going into a high end Mountain bike shops & looking around & no one would say anything but I actually preferred it because I had done all my research & knew probably better then any staff any questions about what I was buying I just needed them to ring it up & tell me if it’s in stock. Little did they know I would have a pocket full of cash & by hundreds of dollars worth of gear & parts. One cashmere actually asked me where I worked. Interesting how people judge others by looks when I catch myself doing the same thing I’ll correct myself real quick. But in todays world things have drastically changed & more & more people are less social even when it’s there job to be. It’s just a different world now. It’s nice to see something positive though. Happy Trails!

I can appreciate your video. I work at a Harley dealership. Been here 6 years, Previously worked in the auto industry for 25 years. During those 25 years I was taught
to be right up customers asses from the time they step foot on our property. To me that is bad business. Greeting a customer immediately is important. Drilling them
with questions and following them around the showroom sucks. Some people just want to look around and have the common sense to grab an employee when they
are ready to take the next step or ask a few questions. My point: You should have been greeted by someone as soon as you walked in the door. Like you said in another
comment, just a hello would be nice. But expecting an employee to bolt right towards you and have them expect you to want to talk to someone right away is not how most sales
consultants operate. Especially in a Harley dealership. It's just not a high pressure atmosphere.
