A completely contrasting workflow, so another way for us to consider painting a unit. I have to say the simplicity of approach to the flesh, once you then blend in those oil highlights still created real depth in the volumes and shadows, even on tiny models. One of my biggest challenges. Real inspiration

I spent 3 hours today making very little progress with my 5 Stormcast I already painted for several hours and are far from being finished... They also won't nearly look as great as your Orks, and you painted around 12 in that same amount of time completely... I can only sit here and watch your videos, paralyzed in awe and try to drink some drops from that cornucopia of painting wisdom you're pouring over us :-D
I would love to see your take on 40K Death Korps of Krieg and their armored vehicles. All dirty, muddy trench warfare. I can see the air brush coming into it's own right here :)

I colori ad olio li sto usando per l prima volta e devo dire che mi trovo bene. Li trovo estremamente maneggevoli. Grazie dei consigli e complimenti per il canale
@@MarcoFrisoniNJM assolutamente si. Con un po' di pratica sono fenomenali. Le mie miniature fatte ad olio hanno ancora un aspetto "sporco" ma l'effetto è incredibile. L'unica cosa che non ho capito è se usi solo l'acquaragia per diluirli o anche l'olio di lino
@@MarcoFrisoniNJM What metallic oils do you use? I use ak wax paints for This But they dry very Quick on the palette, might want to try oil metal as well. Now that I paint more and more with oils and solvents anyway. Great vid as well! Keep em coming!!
@@Katoasapun you can make your own metallic oil paints by mixing Green Stuff World metal pigments with some linseed oil. Check out James Wappel here and on twitch to see how it looks. It's amazing, and you can also mix the pigment into the more transparent oil colours to make them metallic too~
@@joseantoniomartinez6008 he has made a video showing the process of making the metallic oils, but it's on his patreon. The process is really simple, though. Just linseed oil and the GSW pigment gradually stirred together.

Great work as always!! Here are somethings that I've always wanted to ask (as I'm getting into oils myself): • How long do you wait for the oil wash to dry? • Can you use acrylics over oil wahses?
He says elsewhere that he generally doesn't wait long for the oils to dry. Maybe 5-10 minutes, but often by the time the last model is done the first model is ready for cleaning. Secondly, you can go right in with acrylics after the oil wash, but not if they're thinned much with water.

Oils are crazily tough so there's no need for a protective shell! Just let the models fully dry for a couple of days, preferably inside a plastic box to avoid catching dust
That's truly inspiring stuff, not only do I learn new techniques but also new materials. I haven't used oils before, nor have I tried those Molotow One pen refills, or Liquitex inks! I can see they're available locally, so I will deifinitely get some of those. I have a whole bunch of Massive Darkness minis which I intend to experiment painting... But I also have a huge batch or Republican Romans to paint, and I am wondering if I could apply Marco's technique those as well? Certainly zenithal lighting with priming, oil paints for washing, and probably GW contrast paints too? How would you go about insta-painting some historical 28mm minis, Marco?

wow what a result, I've got black and brown oils but hardly pull them out for metallics because the spirit used to thin them typically takes off my acrylics without a varnish beforehand. What did you use to thin your oils instead?
