Build a Drawing Table Top

My artist friend Burl Sloan asked me to build a larger top for his drawing table. This video shows the process, including glue-up, smoothing and sanding, trimming, shaping, and drilling.

Just curious, how did you allow for wood movement (expansion & contraction) when attaching the bottom supports? I'm in the process of building a similar project.

You should have used wax paper for those clamps also.
