It takes a big man to take on the challenge of the TT & an even bigger man to realise when its time to call it a day at the TT. Full respect to you Dave.
Lots of great memories now continue with everything else in your life and maybe even introduce a few new things along the way👍

As a recent subscriber I have really enjoyed your infectious enthusiasm and love for motorbikes, racing and the TT in particular. The raw honesty you have shown throughout and especially in this video is admirable beyond words. I wish you and your friends and associates all the best and look forward to you taking us on whatever adventures you undertake in the future. The character you have shown in racing the TT, and in deciding NOT to race the TT anymore, are exactly why mere mortals like myself avidly follow the deeds of road racers like yourself. A breed apart.

These videos really have given viewers the full behind the scenes of road racing , I can see just how much effort it takes physically and mentally. Massive respect to anyone that rides at 100% around the Isle of Man . Well done Dave , big decision 💪🏻.

    Huge hug for you buddy.
    Be Proud
    Be Very Dam Proud
No one can ever take any of that from you, and any time you choose you can close your eyes and do every bit of that circuit flat out with a smile on your face.

This was the blog I was looking forward to most over the TT. I love the enthusiasm, the insight and the down to earthiness. Even though this was your last TT on the bike, I’m still looking forward to keeping up to date with all your other activity - there is some thing so infectious about your enthusiasm for racing and for life. I’ll be watching your you tube channel even if you were just cutting your grass. Massive respect Dave. Massive.

Thank you Dave - for sharing your personal journey through the emotional roller coaster that's intrinsic to racing at the IOM TT. You should rightly be proud of everything you have achieved: and the bravery - and heartfelt emotion - you have shown when making the decision to leave something you truly love behind. Here's to you having a well-earned Summer break (if that's possible!); & to all the exciting new experiences you'll be having on 2-wheels in the coming months & years.

Total respect Dave. I used to ride on the road, (not racing, I’ve neither the minerals or talent for that) but I always knew that if anything serious happened to me or my riding friends, that would be the end for me. Unfortunately it was me that had the incident but even while I was being scooped off the road by the paramedics with a shattered leg, I had total clarity of thought and I knew I was done. 6 years down the line and health fully restored, I haven’t regretted my decision for a second.

Hi Dave, I have never met you, but feel as if I'm your friend having got to know you so well over the years.
I was lucky enough to realise my lifetime ambition to race the mountain course, which I did twice, so I know as well as anyone everything that you are saying.
I think the decision to stop must the right one for you and no one else.
I'm involved in helping others along their two wheeled racing, and the one thing I often say is that the time you stop enjoying it, is the time to stop.
I hope one day to be able to meet you and say 'hi'.
Really looking forward to watching your adventures and enjoying your bike building exploits.

Dave, your courage is remarkable. Coming back from last year's somber Senior race after your mate passed and posting your best finish is an incredible achievement on its own. Your enthusiasm for this event has inspired me to follow it closer than before. I was saddened to hear about Raul, having just watched him in the series "No Room For Error.". Then watching this video, after your first race, Raul was right there and walked by you. It really hit home on how fleeting this life is. My sympathies for Raul, his family, and the TT family. Kudos to you to know when it's time, and respect from across the pond.

Much appreciation and respect David for your raw honesty and emotion. You encapsulate what I’ve always felt it meant to be a TT racer. I found your channel around NW200 in the lead up to ticking the TT off my bucket list. Each day my mates and I would be watching for Dave’s distinctive orange S1000RR. It was a great fortnight, just a pity the beast couldn’t have spared Raul and it would have been perfect, but then that’s the nature of the beast, and why men come back every year to conquer it. Much respect mate and looking forward to what you have in store for us on your channel next. 👍🏼

Very moving piece to camera Dave. It looks like you are happy to have made the decision, despite as you say you are going to miss it terribly, and therefore it must be the right one. It's also good that you finished on a high, riding and position wise, even though the circumstances of your last race were very sad. All these TT vlogs, this and last year have been a mixture of fun, sad moments and exhilarating highs and I think you capture the whole experience so well. A true reflection of the highs and lows, massive respect for finishing the lap and calling time on your TT racing. I noted how disciplined you are at sticking to your markers, lap 2 RST Superbike 18:44.863 lap 4 18:44.194. Less than 7/10ths over a full TT lap is slightly OCD. Can you draw perfect circles free-hand? I've discounted that you're a robot as you like cake. RIP Raul

I’ve followed your journey for a few years now Dave and been very impressed with your progress. You’ve had a fantastic year at the TT and I understand your reasons for calling it a day. Thank you so much for allowing us into the world of your team, it’s been an honour to be part of your TT experience. Good luck with your new challenges mate, gonna miss you 👋 #39

Dave, I was at the TT (again). I was going to say Hi at your garage but didn't want to bother you. Having just watched this video I felt compelled to say thank you for the videos, the on track entertainment and all the help you gave to the other competitors. Huge respect to you!

Thank you for sharing the thought process and genuine emotions around the incredibly difficult decision you've made to call it a day on your Isle of Man TT racing, Dave. I had always hoped to compete in the Manx or TT myself, but ended up being ruled out when they brought in the upper age limit a few years ago. I'll always have to live with that regret, but following your journey on the Isle to its completion has been wonderful and inspiring. Thankfully I got to compete in the Cookstown and Tandragee races in Northern Ireland in 2018, so for an average-at-best Canadian club racer, those were truly dreams come true. I'm also at the point of possibly hanging up my racing leathers, so much of what you say rings familiar to me. Thank you again for taking us along every step of your journey. I wish you the very best in your new adventures to come, and I can't wait to see where they take you.

In whatever you do, learn to 'Know yourself.' As a human being you challenge your self but In life it is not always what you do for yourself that really counts it is what you do and give to other other human beings, rare qualities. By doing your videos and Racing you have done both. Honesty and true emotion are qualities we can all learn from. Your enthusiasm for your sport is compelling healthy and infectious. Thankyou for the video diaries they have been really great . I hope you continue to do many more videos /journalistic things in the future. Best regards😎

Well Done Big Man. Hope to meet you one day and thank you for all the enthusiasm you project in your videos. I remember that exact same feeling when I stopped; racing motorbikes (especially on the roads), we have to "deal" with lots of bad stuff, but only once you run out of pigeon holes to shut that bad stuff away, do you really know when the right time is to stop. You're stuff is a million times better than TT+👍🏻🍀🇮🇲

Every right to be proud. Just to do 1 lap is an achievement. Well done for knowing when it's time to stop, it's obviously a difficult decision. Great insights into the event from you as always, shame TT+live pass doesn't catch up with guys like you on their coverage more often. ❤

I had a lump in my throat watching this Dave. To me, every person who competes on the island is my hero. It doesn't matter what position they finish, I have the utmost respect for every single one of you. That last lap must have been so hard, but you must be so proud of your achievements and the decision to stop racing is enormous. I love watching your vlogs, the way you obviously love your job, the way you explain things, and the infectious enthusiasm you seem to pass on to everyone around you, is something most of us can only dream of. Ride safe, carry on the great work. Looking forward to future vlogs.

Dave .... I have been following your videos for a while now and its so nice to watch stuff that's so "real" Your approach to presentation is so refreshing with pure enthusiasm and no BS ! I have been meaning to get out to the TT for years, and this year I made a last minute booking and made the trip, it really is THE greatest motorsport spectacle ever! I saw you and others on the last day of practice going down Bray Hill !! Everyone whoever participates I am sure experiences highs and lows that can only be dreamed about by mere mortals. Your candid piece to camera was very moving and inspiring. Thank you for giving us mortals an insight. Massive respect to you all .

Dave, you have done what most us who ride bikes could only dream of if we dared to in the first place by competing in the TT.
I totally respect your decision, its better to stop a day too early than a day too late my friend. Just promise you'll take us with you on your next adventures

Was right with you on that one. Been through similar albeit not the level of the TT and that feeling in your gut never goes away when youre at a track helping friends but it does turn in to being really happy and proud of your mates for their achievements so all is not lost.
Looking forward to the next instalment of more motorbike fun!
