I've got 2 of the 8" VEX's, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they'll be available in the 6.5's. I know a lot of us motorcycle pro audio guys would snatch them up QUICK!
This is what I was saying man lol. This speaker need the power to make it wake up and boy did it ever. I can hear the difference between the two videos and its crazy loud in this one
the issue with these PA style mids is that they get loud as fuck, but they have severe limitations in the actual midbass region. The last 3 years of shows I'be been to it's the same with every build. Subwoofer system plays up to 60hz maybe 70hz really well, but the pro audio mids don't have anything below 100hz and there's a huge chunk missing between 60-100hz and there is a lot of musical information in that little 40hz range between 60 and 100. This is made worse by shoving a dozen of these drivers in essentially no airspace in a door build. For shits and giggles I offer to RTA test at shows, I've seen systems down 18db at 90hz
Speaking of the devil this is my issue at the moment, however I am trying to correct this without replacing my mids. Not trying to be a smart butt but since you know so much Abt this topic could I add a 6.5 subwoofer that covers that 60-150 hz range or would midbass drivers be better?
@@Longpipejang Depending on the scale and output of your system it could be as easy as putting some shallow mount 6.5 or 8 inch subs in the kickpanels in custom buildouts if your doors are full. hard to really answer without knowing more about your setup
Most of the builds are just for show, spl or to be annoyingly loud and sound like s**t. The newer generations that grew up on cell phone and PC speakers dont know about sound quality.
Man, that’s sounds good even through just watching your video with my Bose ear buds it’s so crisp and deep . Bro , straight Fire. Hey what’s the name of the tracks you were playing man that was nice.
Awesome vid as always man! Can you share the approximate crossover point you played these at? 80hz safe on these? I just installed 2 VEX 8’s on my wakeboard Tower
Just wish the SDX amps could run with my CMAX. But 15volts is their safe limit. Looking for a couple more SAX amps. Gave the SDX amps to my son for his Camry build
I would love to get my hands on some VEX mids, but they would need to be available in 6.5" size. So far, the NeoPro is the best available series in that size. With that being said, I would really love to get my hands on some 5.25" variants of the NeoPro. Many vehicles, and especially older ones use a 5.25" size for speakers.
You mentioned using a different amp to get the right power than what you would actually think. I was wondering if you could recommend an amp for the x12 v2 D4. Being wired down to 2 ohm doesn’t give me a whole lot of options
Ok sir you know what im gonna ask where can I get those sundown CANS and yes vex 8 and those sa 2.75 just to the right on top.of bench would sound better but I love it

No it was prob closer to 400 RMS. Sdx 100.4 when 100rms x4 @4ohm. Usually 200x4@ 2ohm so prob 400x2 @ 4 ohm bridged. He probably has the gains on the Tweeter turned way way down if the front channels are bridged also. It's always better to overpower and adjust your gains accordingly
Ok took a step back and found it, what would be a recommendation for doing a Yukon Denali Xl. 6.5’s in the doors and 6.5 neo pro’s ?. And two 13’s in the back.?
How would these compare to the Sundown Neo Pro 8" v2 mids? I'm guessing that the VEX will be much better for midbass and the Neos would shine in the midrange. What's the actual frequency response of both speakers because that info isn't available on the Sundown website and which tweeters are better between the GT series and the ET series?
When you bridge two channels together they lose dampening factor. Sometimes this is bad, sometimes it doesnt matter. Its more a function of the system as a whole due to the components chosen since not all amps, speakers, enclosures, installs, or listening levels are the same. Most people wouldnt notice the difference.
@@therandomrobert1842 You should pay more attention to what you're replying to and the inferences of the question. Nothing to do with 1 ohm operation here.

measure how much power the amp draws when only tweeters are working and then add the mid and measure again . you will see it is only 20-40 watts extra output added by the mid channel when lows are crossed . you dont need a very powerful amp with mids actually . but you have to sell them right ? ok so dont tell this to anyone : )

I'm trying to take a Salt 500.4, bridge 1,2 and 3,4 to make a 2 channel amp AND THE EXPLANATION IN THE MANUAL IS FUCKING HORSESHIT!!! and its not just you guys, its all the manufacturers. I cannot get anywhere close to an answer on the proper RCA hookup for a bridged channel pair. The white stripes TAKE TAKE TAKE vocals are only played on the left side. This song will not work using bridged speakers because the stereo inputs have been combined and there is no more left and right. Is this just an unavoidable drawback to using bridged channel pairs? SO THINGS I NEED CLARIFIED: Do both RCA inputs need to be occupied for maximum output on a bridged channel pair? Does it matter if the RCA signals are stereo? (Some amps state specifically MONO signal which makes sense in this case) ORRR should I take 1 channel from the head unit and use a Y-splitter to duplicate the mono signal and feed it into both channels (either 1,2 or 3,4) From what I see, you lose capability inputting the left and right stereo signals into your bridged channel pair, it should be a mono signal LEFT to channel 1,2 and a mono signal RIGHT to 3,4, but I'm not sure the proper way to achieve this and no where does it say how. I don't see how using stereo signals can be the ideal way to provide signal to a single speaker based on the white stripes example. PLEASE HELP MEEEEE!!!
